it's really a bit too easy to do a gunspire otk these days, blackrock and roll or that 7/7 that doubles deck minion stats, then drop spire onto an empty board and play bladestorm. That's basically a two card combo, do you think mark's an amateur ?
@@ZZZZordan They've been making efforts to cut down on ties. I know I recently had a game where I used Hellfire for lethal while the opponent had DR's that would kill me and the game ended before their DR's triggered. Though this has an impact on similar situations where "Coming back to life" scenarios happen, such as if the above situation had DR's that would heal the opponent (Of which I've encountered such a scenario recently too). The game ends immediately when the hero dies and all queued triggers are prevented. Which makes me wonder how Truesilver Champion interacts these days (The OG source of "Coming back to life" since the heal 2 happens AFTER the swing)
Technically the animation skipping the draw phase is correct, since Mimiron’s Head’s ability activates 1st, starting the animation, which triggers Mecha’thun’s deathrattle, all before or at least at the start of draw phase.
Similarly, it is possible to win in this same situation if you're down to the last turn on the Wheel of DOOM!, as it got changed to be a start of turn effect rather than a turn end one
I haven't watched Mark's videos since I stopped playing HS last year, but when I saw Mecha'thun and Mimiron in the thumbnail, I knew I had to watch it. 😂
This surprised me too, but then I realized that "Start of Turn" really means "Start of Turn." Having played a lot of Magic, I apparently read "Start of Turn" as "Upkeep," since that's when a similar MtG effect would take place. It just got automatically translated in my head. Edit: Wait, this makes no sense, Upkeep happens before Draw. I don't know what I was thinking, then.
@@temtempo13 been playing a ton of yugioh in the last couple years (thanks master duel) and yeah, there, the first thing that happens is turn player draws a card at the start of the draw phase and THEN other actions can be taken, but nothing before that. Of course there must be some gimmicky card that is the exception but for the most part, that's how it works, so it surprised me to know that Mimiron skips the drawing so saved him from fatigue? also, how weird is it that mimiron triggering doesn't count as a card in play for the mechathun deathrattle trigger to occur? man, this game can be wild when it wants to.
The opponent was apparently a new player. All of the carts were outdated and were just randomly added to the deck because the inexperienced player thought "they were good"... individually, I guess. And at the end, instead of the 2nd Fireball, he could've just ping for the win, but he did, what he did, confirming one more time my impression that he was an inexperienced player. Still, seeing the combo was the whole point, right? Cheers. =)
No, you do take fatigue damage on your extra turn, but you have to reach your Draw step for that to happen. "Start of Turn" occurs first, triggering Mimiron's Head, which destroys Mecha'thun, triggering its deathrattle, winning the game before you can draw.
A Mechtacular finish! Remember to subscribe to the channel and like the video! Thanks so much for watching!
We can never comprehend the mind of Mark's opponents. Truly a once in a generation genius
diamond 5
The opponents that Mark goes against at Dimond 5 is insane.
He is on diamond 5 with like -1000 mmr so
@@caiofiuzaseixas9027exactly, comes with the territory
*V-07-TR-0N's epic entrance music*🎶🎶
In the meanwhile, jaina is dying in the back 💀
i'd argue this is your best otk yet. it truly feels like basking in the glory of the V-07-TR-0N!
That ending was absolutely worth it.
That mage is a paid actor.
Lord of the Arena in 2024, what a chad
13:45 but you could have pinged your face…
he had +2 hero power damage, so the sister + 1 fireball would have brought him down to 1
There is something so cool about defeating your opponent while having Voltron music playing in the back
Mimiron's Head was the first legendary card I ever crafted. So happy to see Mark using it. Sometime I really want to see a Gunspire OTK, though.

The animation skips the draw phase?!?
not the animation, C'thun deathrattle
I'm not convinced it's on purpose either

truly MECHTACULAR! as always Mark

Ok, so, there's a phase coded BEFORE the drawing phase... huh. interesting fact.
Well, yeah. DH's Sigil of Alacrity showed this, as you'd draw from Sigil first then draw for the turn.

Best sound effect for a mechathun win ever
I hit legend with quest mage voltron before. Even top 500. Back when the quest went forever. My most glorious climb.
It was very glorious indeed, and voltron voiceline at the end to spice things up
damn, that's so cool!
Mark, how could you not say "lord have mercy" when you saw Lord of the Arena getting milled??
I was afraid he was gonna take another fatigue damage and lose before Mechathun went off
Classic Reno mage almost winning is wild
next level of BM
have you thought about Mecha'thun + wheel of death with warlock?
I still play mimiron stealth rogue to live out the dream
This is the most innecesary and fun combo i ever see. I love it 😂
5:50 slowly unlearning how to play
combining otks now thats a real combo.

So epic ending
if enemy draws bomb with chromagus on board... Does it double?
IIRC it will add a bomb to your hand. Which will just sit there unless you play it for 5 mana where it'll deal 5 damage to you (But won't draw a card)
Glorious!
TIL, you dont take fatigue on your Time Warp extra turn. Good to know
No, you do take fatigue damage on your extra turn, but you have to reach your Draw step for that to happen. "Start of Turn" occurs first, triggering Mimiron's Head, which destroys Mecha'thun, triggering its deathrattle, winning the game before you can draw.
@temtempo13 Ah okay, thanks for clarifying! I learned so much today
You just like to sufer 😂, great vid
Do you not draw on your extra turn? Or did the combo just happen and end the game before drawing a card?
You do draw on your extra turns. The combo simply ends the game before you get to the card draw phase.
Mimiron's Head, Doomsayer, and other "Start of your turn" effects occur before your draw a card.
so mimiron destroys cthun i seee
Omg. It's awesome 😅
almost lost to a guy playing a year 2015 deck.
LOL! )))))
First and awesome video Mark!
