- In this video we install MIL- 32610 lifter valley baffle. Special care must be taken to ensure proper fit, and you must trim interference by lifters, pushrods, roller lifters, where the holes have to enlarged, and if the baffle doesn't fit the block. The springs go open end up, and they must be trimmed to fit as well.
What is the purpose of the baffle and the stands as well?
The purpose of the baffle is to stop hot oil from splashing on the underside of the intake manifold causing a power loss by heating the air fuel charge. And if you have a catastrophic valve train failure, breaking pushrods and such, the baffle holds the lifters in their bores. The vents allow the crankcase to breath without having to fight the oil draining back into the pan. We have a video out called, "Vents, Plugs, and Magnets" for more info on that.
