Darjeeling Himalayan Railway 1995

This anonymous footage was passed on to me by an associate's grandfather some ten years ago. I have previously uploaded other content (Triple R Class, K183 R761 & 3801 Parallel Run, etc) from the dvd, but this amazing content has remained unseen. Shot in 1995, it shows the daily operation of the line before it became a World Heritage listed railway, climbing over 2,000 metres in 88 kilometres from New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling in West Bengal, India.

thanks for posting. 9:43, interesting coupling system. the wikipedia page has pikkies with chopper couplers. 1:27, he's wearing my brand of safety boots. 11:19, the wagon at the back must be 3rd class.
