    I've been binge watching every levo comp alloy video I can and honestly I think I have decided. After a LONG biking hiatus (haven't biked since my teenage years basically and I'm 30 now) because I fell in love with longboards, an e-bike like this seems like the perfect solution for me; I tried a friend's Focus Jam 7 and I had so much fun!!! Gotta finish a major project I'm working on to have the money for it but I'm convinced! Thanks for the nice review as well

      For a mtn bike, it has a large price tag. It took a lot of thought before I finally bought one. I have to say I don’t regret it at all. If it was stollen today, I’d buy another tomorrow. I love it. I’ve got around 1100 miles right now.

      Just traded my Focus Thron2 to a Levo Carbon Comp. The ride was night and day, you wont regret it!

    First mtb was a Rockhopper at age 57, Stumpy at 60 and just got 2 (his and hers) Turbo Levo's at age 62. 2 rides now with the Levo and it's a game changer. Hello vert!

    I have the same bike and love it. I got it for the same exact reason, no time to ride dirt bikes anymore but I have plenty of trails around my house here in VA. It has been a game changer for me. I have tubeless tires and I carry a plug kit, very easy to use and I can run lower pressure. I used the original chain for a bit more than 500 miles and changed it as preventative maintenance. Its interesting that you are braking chains like that, I wonder what the reason is. Thanks for sharing this video, very well done!

      Thanks! I think I’ve been shifting it under high load and need to change my technique. Looking closer at the teeth on my cassette, I can see some damage. I ordered a new chain, currently running a link short with a 2nd master link so I could ride over the weekend.

      keeping high rpm "peddaling faster in lower gear" up steep climbs is how you prevent chainwear/ motor wear.@@AndrewDeVries211

    Love my 2021 Turbo Levo Comp and just crossed 4300 miles. Finally had my first problem (in warranty still) an intermittent system cutoff. They’re looking at all the cables. Otherwise what a great bike - enough power to climb just about anything. Amazing handling thanks to great geometry and design. Added a Cush core after 3800 miles, but not sure it’s really a run-flat solution. Definitely should carry a chain breaker missing link and some spare links from sizing the chain. Saved my friends a couple times with those few things.

      @AndrewDeVries211  Рік тому

      I was looking at the Tannus armor tire inserts also. They advertise run flat technology. They are on my radar.
      I just got the specialized swat concealed carry tool. So I’ll have a chain break and spare master link from now on. You must do a a lot of riding. Glad to hear of high mileage bikes with minimal issues.

      I have the same bike with zero problems but I upgraded my front forks to coil, Vorsprung smash pot and the rear coil is push 11 six. Huge difference. Also MTX red racing brake pads make a huge difference and they never squeal.

    My longest ride so far on that battery is 42 miles and 5400 feet of elevation gain. And I put in a lot of personal energy to get that number! But that is pretty damn impressive for an electric mountain bike. I'm 58 years old.

      I need to look, but I’m betting I’m close to 1300 miles on mine. Messed up a cassette and broke a few chains but that was mostly my fault. Very pleased with the bike. Hopefully the dealer took care of you on the new motor and tcu

      That’s awesome. I debated between red and blue. Hopefully you got to take advantage of the sale. It’s costly to enter the e-bike world but I’m happy to say I fell in love with it. If it gets stolen today I’d buy another tomorrow.

    I have the 2020 Levo Comp Alloy. 3,000 miles. No major issues. Get a better chain, and wax your chain. It is easy, chains pop off easy with the quick links. The chain will literally last forever. I have upgraded the heck out of it. You must make the tires tubeless. You lose too many tubes with hotheads and thistles. Bike is awesome!

    • @AndrewDeVries211

      Went thru 3 chains in under 1500 miles, but 100 percent my fault. Shifting like and newb up hills in boost, damaged the cassette, etc. new cassette and chain has lasted me a while now. Just had to change my ways.

      I have my eye now on Tannus armor. My main concern is to prevent flats. They have a new tubed design. All of my flats have been from thorns. I want to prevent the flat and also be able to ride slowly back on the insert if I do get a flat.

      I’m 6ft. Which is 183cm (had to look that up) and I’m riding a S4. I’ve ridden some friends S3 and it feels small. I have one friend that is shorter than me and he still got the S4 and bought a shorter stem to bring the bars in closer to him.

    I was juat watching out UK techs fixing these blue and red error codes its water getting into the top tcu indicator they take it out and wrap installation tape round the body and inside open plug whare you update it and fit it back in the frame! He said it happened alot on these specilized Levos and the other with pressure washing and not using an air hose to blow the water down tmn out the bottom of the frame! I'll try find it in my history and put the link up but yeah just tape the controller out and seal it with electrical tape stop water getting intonthe update socket

    do you have any issues with it so far?

    • @AndrewDeVries211
      @AndrewDeVries211  Рік тому +1

      No issues other than it throwing the error I showed in the video. That error only occurred when in turbo, downshifting, and pedaling fast up steep inclines. The software update fixed that. Yes I kinda thought it was louder than when it was new also. But when I ride my friends it sounds the same way. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @Hunter-yy4es
      @Hunter-yy4es Рік тому +2

      Have mine on order get it in 2wks but you also have to take in mind that these engines are the big boys 90nm of torque so they will be a bit more louder then the base models pushing the 80-85nm. More power = more noise
      l compared my purchase with Treks ex models found specialize to be the best quality bang for buck with this suspension kit.
      The chain snaps is unusual maybe push this back to the dealership these bikes are made to be flogged off road snapping chains shouldn't be happening unless you got some decent miles on them.

    In the turbo mode, how hard do you have to pedal to get up to like 35mph?

    • @anonymousperson7861
      @anonymousperson7861 Рік тому +1

      very hard. The motor cuts out at 15-20 mph depending on the market the bike was meant to be sold in. If you installed a de limiter, it would be appearently 4 times easier than reaching 35mph on a comparable non electric MTB according to specialized, probably easier though, the motor on a turbo levo produces almost as much torque as a mazda miata which weighs literal tonnes more and can go 35 no problems.
