- The Night Witch is one of the most unique legendaries in the sense that she's a legendary that isn't really unique. Although her purpose has remained fairly consistent throughout her entire lifespan, she has a very interesting history and has truly left her mark in Clash Royale history.
Her legendary ability is the fact that she depends on another card to be good

Well by that mean most cards depend on other cards to be good.
If you don't attack sparky it can wreck your tower, if you don't attack the night witch the damage is not that big.

She might not have a place in the meta, but as a former golem player, she will always have a place in my heart.
I have been a Golem player since 2016, and added NW to my deck as soon as she came. I still use them both.
Night witch needs a rework

Imo I would play more into her "Night" status, making her a full on vampire, like spawning special bats (or adding a radius in which bats get this buff), and healing herself for a percentage of damage dealt to troops by bats (and maybe even herself). Yes only troops, not buildings.
That would make her even more busted with her initial stats
That would be a good idea but the healer already kinda does that. I know that with your take it would be a self heal rather than a group heal but I still think that she needs a rework or something else.
Putting this here so more people see it (plus it doubles as a hook):
To keep consistency the Night Witch should be given range,
faster hit-speed (something like .9, slower than princess tower, but faster than musket)
and more damage (less than musket, more than regular witch)
however there's a catch, it's single target
But here's the special abilities, she can switch back to melee for a 1 tile splash surrounding her target, allowing her to deal with swarms like her sister but in her own way. Plus she releases a bat/bats upon death.
Note these two really sell the idea "she is meaner than her sister", hits faster than her and is spiteful she would use her dying breath to kill you.
Though, I think that maybe that's not good enough for a legendary for some( *but* *first* *two* *are* *non-negotiable* )
so lets get *nutty*, she deals spawn damage, except not when she spawns, she'll have a special animation to spawn bats that deals damage instead
I love the witches to an unhealthy degree, and a detriment to my trophy count

This would actually make her legendary. But this would mean another reowrk and Suoercell won't do that. They're done with the Night Witch
Night Witch was one of the legendaries I loved solely because it had a cool design, but also because one of the decks I used was a golem beatdown w a skarmy instead of a mega minion. It will always have a special place in my heart
I still use night witch in a non golem deck, and get a decent amount of wins.
(I started playing around 2019 and got nightwitch as my first legendary and have not stoped using it in my main deck since)

My poor girl,it's currently in one of her worst moments, and the draft event between her and the regular Witch just made it more obvious
I think a video on the gimmick spells such as Rage, Mirror, and Clone would be interesting they have been historically the bad cards so it would be interesting to find times in CR’s lifespan where these cards were good. Mirror wouldn’t be that hard as Spring and Summer of this year was a time it was broken due to the +2 levels and the Night Witch meta in 2017.
Mirror Meta was such cancer. So glad they killed it. Some cards have interesting concepts, but are very hard to balance them. Either you have to keep it weak or else it'll be broken.

Even in Clash Clans, night witch has a very underwhelming special ability
The other ones are usually what defines the card like invisibility, stupidly high range, one of the highest death damages in the game’s history, etc
Where as nightwitch it’s just… more bats on death. Drop ship kinda falls victim to this as well but drop ship is a much more unique and unseen concept at the time
Nah the night witch is good in clash of clans, I literally use her to in every builder base attack
However her ability IS underwhelming, rather than skeletons she spawns bats and that's about it
But I would want it that way any other ability and she would be broken

when your videos showed up in my feed i thought you were going to be one of those high energy UA-camrs who scream every 10 seconds and are always pretentiously over hyped to appeal to a younger audience
but no
i was pleasantly surprised when i tapped on this video, and continued watching, as you continued to thoroughly detail the history of one of my favourite cards in this game, without screaming like a mad man, it's like an essay describing her history, which is exactly what i wanted, it was slow paced and calming, i really like it a lot, heck, you even played Minecraft music!

I remember winning the challenge 12 wins 2 losses and getting her. It was truly something special playing with her at that time. That spam night witch deck was so nasty. I used to play a lot of Golems with her, Bridge spam aka (Vietnam deck) and I had later discovered one of my favourite decks with her. Night Witch Giant and Sparky. That deck broke some of my friends and a lot of ppl in tournaments. Thanks for the nostalgia. 👍
I kinda feel like the night witch has lost her 'legendary ability' since the she's just a spawner now like the witch. it's kinda disappointing to see but she is pretty balanced now.

That last summary of Night Which's current status and how she 'Found her place' Is honestly a really good ending for a story. She didn't end by achieving some great goal, or by cleansing the lands, or saving the universe. She just found where she was meant to be.

Great video, Night Witch always was one of my favorite cards so i'm happy to see you do a video about her ! I would love to see the history of Royal Giant, he is there since a little after the beginning of game and from being a nightmare, to a trash, to a balanced card, he really has an interesting history.

I still think RG is really, really good (he’s a top 3 win con imo) but I believe it is much better balanced and less painful to play against now

Being a man who got the night witch from the special challange while still in the jungle arena thing, this made me feel a bit old.

this video was great, I stopped playing CR years ago but I remember when she first came out so clearly. I was actually one of the lucky people to get her from her draft challenge (first one I ever won) and I remember how broken she was and being so proud that I had her

The Night Witch is still a legendary card and deserves to be one for 1 reason, she is the only card in the game that can summon air troops (the lava hound needs to die to spawn in its air troops + its also legendary).
Sounds nothing like other legendaries. It's still spawn troops, it's not like a new mechanic. Basically they took code from Witch and changed Skeletons to bats.
The thing with lava hound is that it’s an air TANK that also spawns SEVERAL air troops on death. That’s their special ability. And for night witch it’s just… cheap card that spawns air troops. It’s literally just an opposite witch
Witch can attack air troops, has ranged attacks and places ground troops
Night witch has a close range attack, attacks ground troops and places air troops. That’s all there is to it
Yo I only started playing CR again like 2 months ago (because of this channel) so I didn't really think much of this channel. But now starting to get into this game and watch CR content this channel is really quite amazing. To start only a few months ago on a game seemingly dead in terms of content (except for Brad I only watch him) and be this big and make high quality videos. Huge props my guy 👏

I played this game back in highschool and these videos are such a fun nostalgia trip. Also, Tarir music gets an instant seal of approval.
The Night Witch was actually my first legendary (I was actually one of the few lucky ones that managed to get her in her debut event) and I remember always using the Night Witch even after her nerf in 2017. I still use her to this day in my current trophy deck... even if I do miss the death spawn bats
What deck do you use her in? I've been thinking of using her in bridge spam.
@@BobbyBoy007 I used to use her in a Mega Knight beat down deck similarly to how people would use a Night Witch with golem though I now play Skeleton King Phoenix Graveyard. She's actually pretty great at countering most cards such as the Royal Ghost, Dark Prince, Mini Pekka and even the Valkyrie with the bats provided that the opponent doesn't have zap.

I just found this channel a couple weeks ago and i LOVE your content, purely clash royale history and even about individual cards! Something i never seen in clash royale channel
it's sad that the night witch has so much potential in the early days, almost impossible to counter her, but now some of the legendaries are just way better to counter golem beatdowns.
I don’t really even use nightwitch but I picked it everytime in that event and got no losses, actually made me appreciate her a little bit
I always thought that her legendary ability was spawning bats. Skeletons from normal Witch can be attacked by everything and they can't attack air. Bats can attack air and ground troops while also being untargetable for melee ground troops.
She finally just got her death bats back!!!

I really appreciate witch and have always wondered why she's never been that meta. I know spawning Larries is nothing new but the fact she continually produces them makes her an unbelievably strong asset against fast DPS pushes and charge attack cards.

Supercell finally addressed night witch being useless now in the latest balancing patch. Their grand solution to bring her back into the meta? One death bat. One. That’s what they call a fair buff for a card that’s supposed to be “legendary”.

The name "night witch" could be a reference to the USSR's 588th bomber regiment, an all girl squadron that gained the name "the night witches" as they only attacked at night and the canvas wings of their plane would make a sound similar to that of a witches broom
