If you haven't glazed this bowl already, can you make a video on how you'd glaze it?

Hey! First of all you are my master! thank you for all your video :) I have learnt so much with you. So, I wanna buy one or two tools of yours and I am wondering which ones you would recommend as a very basic set?

La pièce était très épaisse, il ya une utilité ou c'est un choix ?

Your videos are very helpful! when you are trimming like this, what is the wetness of the clay? is it fresh, leather, or bone dry?

How are you keeping the bowl centered on the wheel without clay to hold it in place?

    • @hsinchuen

I use water to stick the bowl on the wheel head.

I was wondering where you got the steel to make your trimming/chattering tools? In an earlier video you used hacksaw blades but now it seems to be made of something different.

Sorry I didn't see that you were selling them at your ETSY page. No need to answer. They are very well made, the best I have seen.

Daceyhaughwout My son bought them for me and they are wonderful! I am still learning how to use them with Hsinchuen Lin's videos.

There was a workshop I attended with a master potter and a trimmer from Jingdezhen. The trimmer crafted his own trimming tools with wide strap steel to prevent chattering. He also put serrations on the blade of his trimming tools, sharpening them regularly, so he could trim bone dry pieces more easily. To smooth out the surface after trimming he used a long flexible razor like blade.

Elaine Hopgood I made a couple from scrap metal and also purchased one; the key is keeping them sharpened. The dryer the clay becomes, the harsher it is on the blades edge.

Larz Waltz I take classes 3 times a week and use them probably every two classes. You would think that the dryer the clay would help keeping the tool sharpened. I am still trying to learn. I guess I will know when they need to be sharpened.
