Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about the new interface of Twinmotion in the comments below! :)
Hi Justin. Great review and great to see your channel doing so well. Congratulations ! What spec did you go for your new computer and was the new Twinmotion requirements a factor?
I think I probably overdid it with specs, but I spend a LOT of time doing 3D stuff on my computer so I figured it was worth it - I was back and forth between a Corsair Vengeance and an MSI Infinite - ended up with an I9-13000KF I think, 64 GB of ram, and an Nvidia 4090 graphics card. I think that's probably more than most people need, and the 4090's are still stupid expensive right now. That said, I'll use it for probably the next 4 or 5 years, so I'm good with it :)
Twinmotion and Lumion path tracing requirements were a factor, but you don't need a 4090 to meet those. Really anything with RTX can do the path tracing, so I think that's a 2060 and above?
Hey justin,
Thanks for the great review.
Which rendering program do you recommend for rendering interiors?
I'm stuck between V-ray & Twinmotion.
Thank you!
Which 3d rendering engine do you recommend for architecture design?
GREAT I LOVE BEING LOST ALL THE TIME! LOVE IT!
d5 s ui is the best good that twinmotion and lumion are adapting to it
Path tracer was not working with me but when I changed my GPU from 1080 to 2060super it work GPU Must Support DR12 with Real-Time Ray Tracing
Hi Justin, thanks for the great video. I love Twinmotion but I'm struggling to find a way to batch render a list of views. Basically I have an architecture model and a list of camera locations all set up. For each camera I'd like to generate a panorama. Nothing is that challenging here except for that there seems to be no way to "feed" this list of cameras into Twinmotion and programmatically/automatically create this list of cameras/panoramas (no API, etc.). Do you have anything to recommend? Or any other render software/platform to look at?
Thanks!
New UI is so much better and easy to use. They are definitelly on right track but there is still much things to work on. I wish they would go for full PBR workflow and add support for SSS as that could elevate it even higher. Also hope for render elements in next update.
About the updated PT - it works great and feels faster than preview 1. Decals seems to work fine and I am in process of testing possibilities with them. They give a little bit weird effects on translucent materials and glass but it is possible to work with that. I just wish they added opacity mask for them. I don't really have project to test height fog with in full scene but it looks good with scattering light from emmisive etc.
Overall that update is huge gamechanger and I can't wait for more :)
Looking forward to testing it out later this week :)
@Mikołaj Cichański - Twinmotion supports a PBR workflow (i.e. Diffuse/Albedo, Metallic, Roughness, Normal map, Displacement, etc) and includes SSS materials - they are called translucent materials and can be accessed from the Material Library. You can duplicate one of those materials to create your own SSS material.
YESSSSSS.. finally. Was waiting for this review. I love the fact that you can scale your interface. I go to 75%. It looks sexy. Small icons and more room to work upon. 😂. No more clicking on sub buttons to looks for more parameters..
Thanks jus.
Yeah 75% looks good - text gets a BIT small at that point, but maybe I'm just getting old :)
no under 8 g vram for path trace :(
Fantastic summary of the new Twinmotion,
Before we could embed MP4 in the textures, do you know any method to, for example, embed film on a TV with texture on polygon.
#KeepUpTheGoodWork @Justin
Hello sir I use archicad 23. Each time I export my model, it does not show as grass rather is like a mesh material, please what do I do
Hi, I am facing an issue after updating my twinmotion from 2023.1.1 to 2023.1.2. The problem is when I opened my saved twinmotion file then it is asking me to convert it to the new version but after that, the position of the imported mesh is getting changed. Can I have a proper solution for this issue, please?
can i use twinmotion for rendering ships? like running the ship in ocean setup?
Thank😊😊😊
Just wonder how can I select a door leaf instead of a whole door set in a model expoerted from revit - so far it is the whole thing despite Autodesk claiming otherwise - it was supposed to be easy and beautiful and it is as always - any chance I'm missing something here and pressed a wrong button?
Thanks!
you are the best
Hi everyone, Thanks Justin. Is there anyone who knows how to include audios into a video export? My video renders don't include audios.
looking pretty cool and easy to use
It's pretty cool
twinmotion looks so beautiful with its new ui.
It is looking good
Where did the person path function go ?
Hi Justin, thank you for the review of the new twinmotion. May I ask about your opinion ? Which one is better Lumion or Twinmotion for a property developer/development company?
you might want to use enscape instead. simple to use. it does the job done, with good result in short time.
guessing the new version only works on the new Revit versions?
Wow this changed everything
Took me a bit to recalibrate but after that,,, alll pure awesomeness
Some of the stuff is a bit hard to track down, but once you find it it's not hard at all
@@TheRenderingEssentials exactly... Couldn't agree more
Hey Justin,
What is your opinion on how good is Twinmotions Pathtracer compared to D5 in terms of quality? Thanks for the info btw!
Both are great but D5 is a bit faster in rendering I think
I haven't done an in-depth comparison of the two so I'm not sure I know the answer to this
D5 is better! Much better! And for archviz D5 has a great library with very good assets! Modern assets! Grass in twinmotion is ridiculous! You need to put enscape in the equation because is better and better with each update they do!
@@coacollective691 man I wish Enscape come to 3dsmax one day
Hey Justin,
I'm having an issue with path tracer constantly refreshing in this new version and not stopping. Would you know anything about that?
That's a common bug that many people are experiencing. The developers are aware of it but as with all bugs, you can just submit a bug report.
@@brittbliss7044 Thanks
turn off dynamic resolution in your preferences
twinmotion 2023 preview 2 has been really bad for me
Same project i rendered in twinmotion 2022 cannot be rendered on this version, it crashes
Mine is crashing too but if you switch to DirectX 11, everything works fine except path tracer.
thanks, plz make new change of D5 render
still waiting for green screen video adding option
It was hard to adapt at the beginning but new interface is much more functional. I would add only two new functions to Twinmotion and then it would the be perfect program and absolute winner! I would add some boolean operations to primitives, for easier patching of some finished objects, without need for returning to modelers and I would expand animations hierarchy to subfolders.
So, why would I want this instead of using Blender to render?
Lots of reasons - much easier to use, works with models from programs like SketchUp without a bunch of complicated UV editing, Quixel Materials and Models, Sketchfab Models, built in library of assets - probably some other reasons I'm not thinking of here
How to drag location
Multiple gpu option doesn't work. There is no option to select the gpu if we have multiple gpus installed. This version switches randomly from OpenGL render to pathtracing. Zero match of color/exposure/gamma between OpenGL render and pathtracing. Definitively full of issues. I think Fstorm render + 3ds Max works a lot faster with much better photorealistic results at the same speed. Full Montecarlo (bruteforce) raytracing is not the best option also if the denoiser is engaged. The D5 adaptive raytracing it's much better.
That's the kind of thing I have no way of testing, so thanks for sharing your experience!
What computer are you getting Justin?
MSI Infinite series - i9-13000KF processor, GeForce 4090, 64 GB of RAM - might be a little bit overkill for most current operations, but I'm definitely trying to get something that will work great for 4-5 years in the future
@@TheRenderingEssentials I went high spec on mine 6 years ago and other than a new gpu it's still going strong, I'm just preparing for the inevitable.
make pc build guide or cpu gpu parts selection
I'm probably not the right guy for this - I'm not really a PC builder - I'd rather just buy one pre-made
Have they tweaked/worked on the user movement within the TM? Now take into consideration that we are currently using 2021 so that being said, maybe that was worked on before 2023.
I don't understand the question
At least in 2021 version, moving within TM is very touchy
@@Pa_Dave Have you tried adjusting your navigation speed? I've not had this issue in 2023 or 2021
Twinmotion vs D5 render?
Depends
Which is the best Sir Lumion or Twinmotion? I use Lumion. I tried it once and didn't like Twinmotion. That's why I am asking you.
Sir
You know better than me, so please tell sir.
No comparison. Lumion sucks. Nuts. 😂😅
Honestly if you don't need huge plants library, acurate trees and stuff like that (or you simply have access to 3d models of them from maxtree or sth) i would say there is no reason to stick with Lumion... It is twice the price and their raytracing is far behind others in industry. Also path tracing is way more accurate than RT.
Depends on what you need - like it was said above, Lumion has a huge library of models and is fairly easy to use, and they just added path tracing, which I haven't been able to test due to my hardware. Twinmotion has a much lower price point, access to SketchFab and Megascans, has a great looking path tracer, etc. There are a bunch of ups and downs for both of them, so it really depends on the person
@@TheRenderingEssentials they added Ray Tracing not Path Tracing. Path tracing is more accurate than ray tracing when it comes to simulating the physics of light due to some small technicalities but also requires more calculations. RT and PT are similar technologies but deffinitely not same.
Underlining all of your conclusions. One remark: it is a bit strange to drag items from the lib to the other side of the screen. With 4k screens in a production environment this is a minor issue.
funny fact , i thought i can use second GPU , nope i have to use already dead SLI technology , which is quite surprising
I've not tried this - is there newer tech than SLI for using multiple GPU's? Never even researched it
@@TheRenderingEssentials sure other programs just use everything what u have in pci ex slots , ofc if it is GPU ,
i dont understand why TM use this dead SLI technology
last GPU which have SLI conectors is 2080 ti and lower as i remember it correctly ....
I JUST WANT A HYPERLINK BY CLICKING ON OBJECTS! WHY IS THIS IMPOSSIBLE?
Might be more of an Unreal Engine type function
They just fixed d direct x issue by d way.. Try re-update
I downloaded an update a few hours ago that didn't do it - might look again later
@@TheRenderingEssentials 🙏🏻
UE and Vray is still the best
Suppose it depends on what you're looking for
First comment 😁😁
Good work!
vray isvray is better than twin motion in terms of realism, image quality and Material Control vray does not need high operating requirements like Twin motion, I prefer vray
Doesn't change everything, just the interface..
Lol - it feels like everything since I have to completely re-film my course :)
Dude wtf with this clickbait. Title: "changes everything" - at the end of the videos: "nothing fundamentally changes - everything is the same" lol.
I mean - it literally changed the ENTIRE user interface of the program - would that not be considered a massive change to a program?
I know you're probably known for this but (and its a big but) I HATE your intro 😂it makes me cringe every single time
