  • I've never run down so many flights of stairs in my life.
    Anyways, this is a high-rise office building with an EST3 system. The system is two-stage, with a separate audio zone for each floor and stairwell. Hope you guys enjoy!
    Edit: The strobes on several floors were non-functional as a power supply in the 9th floor node failed. There was a Chubb-Edwards technician on-site fixing the issue the same day this was taken, and the issue has since been fixed.

    The sound of the alarm sounds like a reverse signal for a school bus

    At least they told everyone before sounding the fire alarm and said that the lights will be flashing for an hour. If you have seizures especially if they are triggered by flashing lights don't look at the flashing lights put on really dark sunglasses on until the test is over.

      We have to test paging anyways, so it makes sense to announce when we're testing instead of relying on notices given to the tenants.

    Best workout ever. At least he’s going down instead of up. What’s your step count on drill days. Talk to building management about “Cyberlock” one Key for everything.

      Oh definitely lol. I work for a fire alarm company so I do all sorts of buildings. I don't have a smart watch but I'd assume my step count would be in the 50,000 range.

      @@Twentythree33 I would love to legally pull fire alarms all day. I work for Hillsborough County Public Schools, in FLORIDA. I get paid to have FUN. I’m a IT computer support technician.

      Oh nice! IT is definitely a good field. Pulling fire alarms all day seemed like a dream when I was younger and now I'm living it! Chasing ground faults, however, is not nearly as fun.

      @@Twentythree33 I love the voice Evac systems. The schools I go to that have them, I think it’s the best. It really works with ppl that have a sensory overload, because it tells them what to do instead of just being annoying.

      @@Twentythree33 i think Massachussetts has this tone but kinda faster with code 3 just the tone but I revive the familiar classic est voice evac message from general electric style.

  • @GaryBeltz
    @GaryBeltz Рік тому

    What do both messages say I can hear the one say something about if you're in the stairwell and the other says something about the building in full alarm.

    • @Twentythree33
      @Twentythree33  Рік тому +2

      The stairwell message says "Your attention. Your attention please. There is an alarm condition in the building. If you are in this stairwell, please evacuate the building using this stairwell."
      The second stage message says "Your attention. Your attention please. This building is in full alarm. Please evacuate the building using the nearest available stairwell. Fire wardens report the status of your floor at the main floor security desk." The system has custom messages and floor-by-floor evac, with stairwell audio zones as well.

      That’s not bad at my school they had to fix some problems with the fire alarms so we sat in class all day listening to fire alarms and that went on for a week that was the worst week for my ears ever.

    • @Twentythree33
      @Twentythree33  Рік тому

      Oh god no. This bell test was done after hours, when the building was closed. I think we started the test at about 7 PM.

    • @susiekazoku8665
      @susiekazoku8665 Рік тому

      That’s what the school should’ve done and the type of the alarms they had made someone jump out their seat and was just annoying it’s like they would start then stop and go for long periods of time the stop and go off at random moments.

    • @Twentythree33
      @Twentythree33  Рік тому

      Yes definitely. I think the reason they didn't do after hours is because the billing rate for after hours is significantly higher.
