Dissection is probably my all time favorite band. I lived less than 10 minutes away from this location but I was too young to appreciate this type of music. When Jon was released from jail, he toured and played about an hour away from Corona. I opted out because I was strapped for cash and figured he would come back through next year. After the tour, Jon killed himself. I missed out on the concert of a lifetime. If your favorite band is in town, do whatever it takes to see them.
That's not true. They didn't tour the US, and nowhere they played in Mexico was an hour away from Corona. But make up whatever lies you want on the internet, I guess.
I got to hang out with Jon a fair bit both nights, he was a very nice guy and glad I had the chance to meet him and talk about music, etc.. The guys from At The Gates were also great guys! They also were brilliant both nights! Sadistic Intent played the first night as well, such a brilliant night!
This is serious, serious undeniable and factual talent. Metal at it's best. "Storm of the Light's Bane" is almost inhuman in it's robotic like tightness. The time changes so subtle, solid, tight. The melodies, the proficiency and most important-THE FEEL.
I'm next to the camera filming this ;) was an AMAZING night! so was the gig the night prior! hung out with them both nights, was amazing! 20 years ago..... crazy....
@ Nah, was really nice and chil dude. At first I thought he had an issue with me, but the drummer told me John was shocked how much I looked like his brother
I was just two months old when they were playing this concert...I couldn't imagine that one day I will listen to this and cry cause this amazing band does not exist...if only O was there to listen to their masterpieces,to meet then,to enjoy perfection they made of music...Long live Jon,long live Dissection! \m/
+Paola Grgat For years I listen a lot of bands from 80', 90', 2000' and I kept thinking the same thing... How there were people who felt and thought the same way I feel and think... this makes the art even more beautiful and intense than it already is
I was also there that night, right next to the camera recording the gig. I'm the one yelling out "The Somberlain!" "The Somberlain!" and "Fuck that Bull Shit!" When they had to cut the gig shirt. The gig the night before in LA was also fucking awesome!! The in-store signing at Dark Realm records was killer! I had photos from both shows and the in-store but those are long gone now....
I remember at this time Dissection was THE band everyone was talking about in the extreme metal scene (at least in Europe). And then Nodtveidt went to jail...still his music isn't equalled let alone surpassed.
Reinkaos still kicks ass though. It was a nice reminder that jail didn't soften him up one bit. If anything he became even more evil than he was before.
@@spongebitchbobface tbh as brilliant as his music was i suspect jon had some big insecurities. in the rebirth of dissection show he's wearing like 2" platform boots lol... i suspect he probably killed himself more out of guilt and depression (probably related to drug use as well) than because he was some satanic badass. I've also heard stories of him beating up girlfriends at festivals and stuff, which screams insecurity
@@manfrombritain6816 i think is it also more related with self breaking psyche, believing in BS dark stuff, so he could not escape from his past and inside demons anymore.
I would give just about anything to have seen DISSECTION live..im currently working on a time machine..but the dam thing keeps shockin the piss outta me..
I could have seen this tour. Sadly I hadn't gotten into Dissection yet. I have missed/passed on many shows the last twenty some years that I wish I wouldn't have. I have to say though, this may be the only one I truly regret missing. Hail Jon! I don't care if you are a murderer. You are that good to me that I can look past it lol. RIP Jon!!!
The sound is shit, but I was there! Getting pushed under the single staircase from the growing pit was a memory I’ll never forget! The fact that this band played so close to home was mind boggling…🤘🏼

Bullshit. Dissection didn't play in the states after Jon's release.
They didn't play the US after that. They did play TJ(about 2 hours from corona) in 2005. What a fukken show that was!
DJsodomizer U guys haven't heard about google? He commited suicide in 2006. RIC Jon.
Damn, dude! That's terrible.

So did I :)
Wow. The mighty Dissection playing 10 minutes away from where I live. It's a shame I was 7 years old at this time.
I was barely 7 years old when Jon killed himself.
I was 7 when you were born
Same 😂 if only we knew
@@trainsanddominoes1 I was 2 months old when he shot himself, shame
You should have asked your mom if you could go to the concert.

I don´t if you were ever pleased to me jon in person. Their music was great but their believes very questionable
No,never...hope to meet him someday in Chaos where he reigns...
You can bake him a cake there.

Hahahahaha you were hilarious dude xD
Melodic fast and vicious
I see, I'm guessing then that Dissection hit the stage kinda late then.
Was prolly due to the venue then, i doubt Jon would pull off such a short set by will.
greetings.does anyone have the setlist?
how do you play these songs this fucking fast... i can barely keep up with the rebirth gig and they're quite slow
im also live at corona

Lol I was only 5 at the time. For me it wud have only been 30 min drive to em
whos the drummer in this video ?
Who's on the drums and second guitar?!
If you got to hang out with Jon did you find out why the set got cut short? I was just wondering because I'm quite curious.
They were having issues with gear if I remember correctly
you can tell jon's really dissapointed about having to end it early
Live at covid-19
Dissection predicted the corona pandemic.
Fuck off
Just a sign of the beginning of the end. The hungry end is coming soon
the hairflipping is gross
why did the mighty jon have to do that
What are you, a hairdresser?
