I work on sales, I realized that by playing Luminosity or Peak before my meetings I am much more sharp at guiding the sale or closing , to me they have worked!!! I am currently looking into adding a new one on my phone
It’s good to work your brain.. It’s good to be skeptical about studies and do your own research when possible. I loved using them and I know when I come back my brain isn’t as sharp as it was when I was training constantly and you take that with you through out your days. I appreciate that comment, it reinforces what I’ve found to be true and I hope I can see the same results in sales meetings. I think you can have a better result if you do things to boost your performance at the same time. Like lower inflammation and increase energy.
I have ADHD and I noticed when I use Luminosity I feel more energized. it may not beneficial for a long-term, but in short-term yes it helps me sometimes. it is like playing COD which need more focus.
You literally are training your brain-in those tasks. Brain training is accurately termed. If you are improving at a skill, your brain has been trained to improve at it. Just like your legs have been trained when you become better at lunges and squats. The murky area is whether this can cure any problems or make you smarter or able to function better in your day-to-day life. I think some of the games in Elevate attend to these things. For example, the tip game, where you practice calculating percentages. Of course this will help you in the real world (unless you never tip people 🙃). There are different types of intelligence, and these apps help only with certain kinds. There are also new studies that indicate that brain training does help some people improve on certain measures, but there are other activities that have a greater effect on neurogenesis.
I’ve noticed with my niece, who has learning delays, that when she reads the same book repeatedly with help, she eventually remembers the details on her own. But when she reads a new book every day, she struggles to understand or recall it. I feel like Elevate works the same way - it focuses on repetition, which does help the brain. However, I believe it’s important to mix it up with other activities, like Sudoku or reading (just to name a few examples). While my cognitive abilities have declined, and no app can fully reverse that, Elevate is still more beneficial than just watching TV. It’s educational and keeps the mind active, but it's not a miracle worker.
I personally love Elevate to practice languages, I'm a spanish native speaker and using it in english is fantastic to increase your grammar and ability to understanding a second language.
If it’s any consolation this comment sounds like a native English speaker so clearly you are showing the success of it. Your grammar is better than most Americans. And this is only 6 months ago so I’m sure it’s gotten even better.
What an underrated UA-cam, great editing and great content, I barely make comments under videos unless I'm replying to someone but this is genuine, keep up the work man
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed it. Eh… I can’t blame people for not having subscribed for a while.. I was sick for a very long time and am only now back on youtube. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m uploading again tomorrow, I think I’ve made some improvements :) have a nice weekend!
Its not supposed to make you smarter....rather, it is supposed to be like stretching your body before you workout, or take on the day. It makes learning and processing smoother. It helps retain information easier. And if you stop training, its like if you stopped stretching your body everyday. Sure you can function but it could be a lot smoother with fluidity if you did. A puzzle has always been known to sharpen your brain.....why would lumosity be any different? Because its app, and not a paper, like a crossword puzzle or word search?
I uninstalled all social media. This app, reading, and studying college courses on yt, have been my only forms of entertainment on my phone and laptop. I have gotten better. See you in a year.
Ok but if you're improving at these exercises aren't you improving your ability to perform the tasks related to those exercises? Isn't that the very definition of training? You train your body to improve at physical activity. Am I not training my brain if I'm genuinely improving at mental calculations?
It's a good question and certainly debatable. Where I was getting at, ultimately, is that when you get better at these tasks you are not necessarily *improving* your brain. You're simply getting better at those particular tasks and not exactly training your brain. Hope that makes sense and in either case, that was just my own personal experience with it, YMMV.
@@FromSergio If I may add to ur point: These apps claim they can improve you at a neurological level (prevent Alzheimer's for example), this would be the same as me saying if u do this particular exercise at the gym you'll be able to lift more than Ur biological limits (which just isn't true). Ur brain is similar to muscles it can get better at certain tasks with repetition, but Ur brain just like ur muscles won't overcome any biological limits or traits. Just like gym however the app is useful imo as it lets u get better at arithmetics vocab and some other stuff while being quiet fun to play.
I’ve been playing for a few days because I realized how much stupid screen time I have on garbage apps like insta and fb. My brain feels like a pile of dog shit after 15 min on IG vs productive/challenged/trained after 15 min on elevate. Am I smarter? Who knows, but I feel better. I think I’ll keep going and see if I notice anything. I’m a financial analyst so my brain hurts every day at work anyway.
@@ZIRAEL517 I switched to something a little more productive. Learning languages on duo lingo and programming on the MIMO app. With both you basically get full access for free. So I’m stimulating my brain with something I can use in the future.
Hi, my namesake! I'm Sergey. Well, Elevate, just like Lumosity, isn't too much effective in keeping up my brain. But they both are unsurpassed as to waking my mental abilities up. Moreover, Elevate is OK in keeping up my English - I ain't no native speaker, you know. These are my morning exercises: Lumosity, Elevate and Duolingo. I'm studying Japanese now. Have a good day!
I’d like to see a review where the reviewer deliberately gets a lot wrong and plays like a stupid person, just to see how flattering the initial results are. I can’t see any business model putting down a potential customer as it would be counter productive, however if one is to get any real sense of improvement there has to be trust in the scoring and evaluation process.
I think it could be worth it as you get faster at reading, and you can learn new words it’s all learning ? I don’t understand how this isn’t worth it maybe it doesn’t help cognitive function overall long term but u still learn
That’s so kind of you. I really appreciate it and it comes at a crucial time as I’ve been going through a hard time health wise and am only now feeling better to restart making videos every other week and I honestly can’t wait to get back to it and comments like yours make a huge difference in motivation so thanks a lot :)
Elevate had an offer many years ago for over 100 dollars where you can have a lifetime subscription to it, so i purchased it, although i still use elevate, i dont use it everyday but i try to at least log in a few times a week, my cognitive functions i believe improved a bit over the years but nothing to the extent of a mathamatical genius, it also teaches you new methods on how to calculate large math equations in ways that we weren't quite taught in schools, it also has helped with articlulation and brevity when both writing and speaking, although the app does have its flaws and some aspects of the app i dont quite like, if you happen to get an offer for a life time subscription and your a fan of brain excerising apps and believe you will make time to use it, i'd recommend Elevate

it work for me too
I have noticed my thinking and listening has been sharper since using the app. I’d call that a win
Elevate helped me so much in my writing and speaking skills!
Brevity was my favorite. Wish the app would work though

After 5 days I’m 82.41% reading & 39% speaking. which directly reflects my current skills.
I think this sentence was formatted a lot cleaner than usual.
And I used punctuation properly 🤯 (missing Capital IK) I never knew how to use punctuation‼️

Gracias por tu revisión honesta
It is a beautiful app for non native people
It really is, I still use it to this day!
@@FromSergio Do you still use it 3 years later?
Very nice and informative video with great editing. Subbed.
The answer is yes. Elevate is especially good for non-native English speakers.

That would be an interesting one for sure!

Just my personal opinion! I'd prefer to use something like Brilliant myself!
Oh that reminds me i need to start playing more strategy/tactical video games to think more then going all gung-ho/beat em up
they helped me
it works!
I’d definitely use this app as a game but not sure if it would help with exercising my brain!!
Agreed!
Honestly I don't like to play in my phone so I don't think to giving it a try but thanks for the review. 👍
It’s honestly the only “game” that I play. Can’t say I don’t like it, but I get why many people don’t. Most games are just time wasted!
