When tightening these piercing connectors, you can still see some of the
metal teethes looking from along the cables from the sides. What does
water do inside those connectors? Does it evaporate by itself, can it
cause short circuit in some way (dripping many meters past the cable and
forming a conducting path?
Insulation Piercing Connectors need to be tested at 6kV while completely submerged underwater. Water should not be allowed inside the connection or the cable because that can significantly lower the life of the cable. We wrote about it here: axis-india.com/lifespan-of-abc-at-coastal-regions
When installing AB Cable lines at any location, you should make sure that you only use products that have been tested and certified as per the latest international standards to ensure the longest lifespan for your system.

Hello Deepak!
As you can see in the video, the insulation piercing connector is used to create an electrical connection between the main and service lines of aerial bundled cables.
So there are no energized components on the outside of this connector?
Hello John. You are correct that there will be no energised components on the outside.
So that’s how people steal electricity 😂
