Please come back with a review on how you are working with these together. When I first saw The Hoodoo Tarot, I was immediately drawn to it. I had it in my cart to buy, but I hesitated. Hoodoo is not a part of my Ancestral-Past. I felt as if I would be treading through secrets of a culture that didn't belong to me. I still don't understand why I feel so drawn to this deck. At first, I thought it may be simple curiosity, but it isn't. It's a pull. It's powerful magic. It's working with entities that are extremely powerful. I suppose that's why I haven't hit the buy button yet. I didn't grow up with the stories, the warnings, the teachings of Hoodoo. And still, the pull is strong. I tell myself that learning about practices and magic of different cultures expands my own magical knowledge. And while that's true, I still feel I would be appropriating from another's culture. I'll wait til the pull and signs are so strong that I can't ignore them any longer before I purchase this deck. I need to be sure there are messages and knowledge I'm meant to know before I cross my self-imposed line. I wish someone would post a video about working with this deck, what they've learned, if they've changed in some way, etc. 😊 Thank you for this video, Robyn.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing your experience. 🥰 I’m actually really surprised to hear that there aren’t already one or two videos out there. This deck has been out for quite some time. I don’t do magic or actually have any magical practice so I wouldn’t have anything to share in that regard. I use it like I would any other deck on my shelf. So I don’t really have any advice here but perhaps someone else will see your comment and share. I know a lot of people say that we should push past comfort zones and perhaps sometimes we should but, personally for me, I’ve learned over the years, that if something doesn’t feel right, most of the time I should just leave it alone. Maybe it’s not the right time or place or maybe it’s not something that’s for me. Only good has ever come from listing to my intuition 💖.
Isn’t that always the way with the decks that become connected to ancestor energies. I feel like it’s always one I’d never expect. Thanks for watching ☺️
Just have to give you this compliment. What an helpful, deep, informative and easy to understand and follow review. For me they're no questions left unanswered since I now know everything that I get with both of these books, how they're different and how they connect and work with eachother. So really good job there from you. Plus now I'm tempted by this deck even though I just saw the books.
Oh thank you! I truly appreciate that. 💖 I’m a little slow getting the reviews out but I try to be as thorough as I can. I usually try to sit and record all of the questions I have about something before I start so that I don’t lose them. I always figure most probably have the same questions. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you e joy if you decide to pick it up . 🥰
@@RobynsReflections and all the work and time you put into an actual preparation really shines through. So for me I appreciate TarotTubers more if they maybe take a little bit more time and therefore less videos are coming out or videos are coming out about a topic/deck a few weeks after they were released, but therefore it's informative and well researched; than when they're right at release just to follow the hype, but therefore missing the preparation/good info.
Beautiful deck. Feels like if you really want to work with it you have to learn a whole new system. That's not a bad thing at all but a good thing to know before you make the investment.
Well I don’t think it’s a new system really. It’s an RWS based deck she’s just correlated associated hoodoo practices with the minors and historical figures with the majors. The only change in the structure of the deck is the queens being higher than the kings. Nothing else really. If you can make that swap it’s easy to follow. The imagery helps with remembering the majors since most of them are reminiscent of the rws.
Thank you for this. I bought the 'work' book, as the tarot demonstrated to me that there are many similarities with my background and ancestory, however there are lots of things inaccessible to me as I am not from the country nor that specific system of workings. So now I'm thinking I will use the work book this summer for an overdue deepdive. (The deck images are so muted, I like the contrast with long days, tall drinks and sunlight, when using them). Just wanted to comment for the algorithm... 🎉
Hi 👋🏾. Oh yes I bet they are lovely in the sunlight! I don’t know why but for someone reason I always want to use these in the fall. I don’t think I’ve ever used them during the summer months 🤣I’ve already put them away now or I’d do a few pulls this week just to see. Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts ☺️.
Thanks for watching. A lot of the times when the box is giving me issues I just remove them from the box and store them in something else. I keep mine in a tin.
When I open a deck, the box almost always gets thrown on a shelf in the closet. I keep my decks in a Tarot wrap, a bag, or another container that's easy to open. When I'm taking my working deck somewhere, I have a lightweight plastic box I bought from the jewelry-making department at the craft store that I put the big guidebook (like for the Hoodoo Tarot) in so they're protected in my purse. I think the box for The Hoodoo Tarot is the only 1 that I've ever just up and thrown away.

My favorite tarot deck. It’s really powerful, and it began an interesting spiritual connection to my ancestors. One I was not expecting 😊

That workbook is really comprehensive! Wow!
What a beautiful deck.
Ooh I agree. She packed a lot of info in there. Thanks for stopping by 🥰
I'm so intrigued by this deck. That workbook looks like it has a wealth of info in it.
Yes so much info! Let me know if you wanna see anything in particular ☺️

Like I needed another reason to want this deck.
Well if you have to want one this one is surely a good one and different from the others out there. Thanks for watching 💖
But wanting a deck that will be connection to my ancestors and this has me thinking😊😊
Let me know what you think if you decide on this one ☺️. Thanks for stopping by!
No card is supposed to be all positive or all negative.
I found the box the most difficult to open and shut.
