I think a lot of HK'ers have been to these housing estates, especially famous ones like Wah Fu Estate. Actually there's even some people who call themselves fans of housing estates and go around taking pictures of different estates (公屋膠), kind of like trainspotters take pictures of trains!
@@gddtv I think I am, as I studied architecture for my uni and read a lot about housing in hk, I always do deep research on google map to see estate how they setting the housing blocks, mall area, carpark, school and leisure green area. When u follow the estate and their own complete date, u will find a idea of revolution of Hong Kong public estate.
Wah Fu Estate is a role model and starting point of "Hong Kong new town planning" in 1960s when it completed. It is also a template design of Hong Kong public estate, coz it is very fully cover residents' needs. The architect of Wah Fu Estate, Donald Liao Poon-huai said that he used a house wife approach for the design of Wah Fu Estate. Beside fully cover residents' needs, Mr. Liao said that he missed to place a estate plaza there as a focus point/meeting area for the residents. I visited Melbourne in 2014. I don't know why high-rise public estate in Australia only for living, don't have their own shopping centre, market place or food court and so on, or maybe the shopping centre placed in city council designated area already and no need to place another one.
Absolutely agree that old HK housing estates are well designed with the amenities of residents in mind. In Australia most government housing estates are strewn with discarded supermarket trolleys which is evidence that the people living there have had to walk a long distance to go to a supermarket, and then push a trolley full of groceries all the way back to the housing estate, and then haven't been bothered to return it!

建議佢搵啲最基礎嘅廣東話課本先， 可以用佢練下啲對話咁。最重要係本書有晒錄音加埋漢字同埋粵語拼音， 因為開頭已經學咗少少一個拼音系統同埋漢字，對佢日後學高級啲嘅中文會有好大嘅幫助！
