As others have stated, I feel spaces in my tracks by using foley sounds, which is something that I really truly enjoy!!! thank you for giving the community such valuable FREE content especially at this time!
Thank you Jade! What're some of your go-to foley/atmosphere sounds that you like to include? The ol' raining outside the window sound? Or the people walking around the streets?
I like to get "out of the box" for some authentic lofi. I have been experimenting with reamping techniques usually used for recording guitars. I use a di box in reverse and output into pedals and amps and record them back in. You can then mix in parallel to taste. Also I have recorded to 4 track cassette at a high speed and record it back at a slower speed. This all may seem extravagant but it adds something you can't quite get from plugins. Of course you need the hardware to do this. A cheap microphone recording a monitor or speaker can give some great results. I find experimentation key to this sort of stuff. It can simply be a change in perception that can lead to inspiration to try new things you haven't thought of before.
@@NavieD not yet, this is a very recent experiment. I had been working on techno but going through a shift to trip hop stuff. The stuff on my channel is more generative type stuff.
part of the reason pitching down works vs. pitching up is downsampling. idk that i can do it justice explaining, but it's interesting to look into if you have the time

Man these videos are gems, you deserve more views! Keep making the videos please! You have a great way of explaining everything, I made a great beat after watching a couple🔥
I agree even when the video is on a topic i know well i still am interested throughout the entire thing and always still end up either learning something new or just gaining a better understanding. and the fact it is all relevant and geared around the type of beats i make is just a bonus. you def have a natural talent for teaching!!
Navie D. The one thing I really wanted it a one stop shop for tutorials on fl studio plugins, like an in-depth look at all the instruments and effects, I still don’t have my head around fruity love filter and gms. There isn’t really anything on UA-cam that covers it. To be honest I’m getting bored of the “crazy trap melody fl studio” or I made a chill beat in fl” etc. just do an in-depth of each built in vst and this channel will fly.... thanks bro
@@deepsynth3495 Awesome, thank you so much for your input man. I am actually doing in-depth videos on the FL plugins one by one, my next one is going to be on Sytrus. But that's a good idea, I should take a look at the effects as well
@@NavieD Not really cause I have my template set for most of my project but I tend to use it more and more often. It's full of really useful presets the 1 knob effects or the simple EQs. It's a gem
Great technique - doing stuff like that adds unique character into the beat. And it can help fill up some of the frequency spaces in the beat as well. 2 birds one stone.
Hey Nav, can you please explain when and where to apply these lo-fi fx: track vs send/return vs master and please explain the importance of the order the fx are applied. Thx.
Hello dude. I loved the content. 🔥 👍👍 You should most def record with X Li. He is a dope music artist in Canada! You should most definitely check out his UA-cam out and give the artist a subscribe! 👉 #XLiNewArtist

Thank you man!
Thank you for share. 😊
Thank you for watching!
The preset Youlean humanizer on patcher is cool for lofi too
I still gotta dig in to Patcher and use it more. Do you end up using it on a lot of your projects?

hey thank you so much, i love your drum kit
Thanks Kokiri! Hopefully you have put it to good use

Beautiful! Is there any particular topic on lofi beatmaking you would wanna see a videon ?
thanks for this 😍🔥😍🔥
No problem at all man, hopefully it helped!
I hope you elaborate more what's with distortion it'll be better XIXO
Hey Kai, I do plan on talking about why distortion is so important. So many videos on my to-do list haha
“how does this best sound?”
“wow, really nice production!”
“dang, thanks for the constructive criticism…”
Thanks man helped me alot
Excellent, glad to hear it bro
Your chanel don't know how I can say thank you🌹
I am just happy that you are enjoying the content!
subbed. any advice for creating your own samples like you mentioned in the tutorial?
I think I should do a video on that subject, seems like a good topic to cover...
thanks!
What I do is add different kind of nosie sounds like street noise, children playing , trying different types of atmospheric sounds would be great
Great technique - doing stuff like that adds unique character into the beat. And it can help fill up some of the frequency spaces in the beat as well. 2 birds one stone.
I recommend Tape Cassette vst to get a warbly sound. I like it better than Izotope Vinyl and it is also free
great video my guy
Thanks buddyyyyyyy

1:10 as I heard the original sample it took me 10 seconds to realize dude used a servida sample
Indeed indeed, I used the youngboy Servidas sample in another video too
highly appreciate the episode ! I saw some add heavy sub to the lofi melody texture, what r ur thoughts on this ?
Uhhh not sure how that helps, hmmm. I would have to see how its used to understand
What application you're using?
FL Studio
