She gives us belting, range, whispers, runs, riffs, and so many vocal textures in just this song-and they all flow so freely and clearly. I listened to Adele's version several times. She is a fantastic writer and has a beautiful voice as well technically skilled but I didn't connect to the song. To me she sounded very robotic as if it was another chore to do and cross off her list. The first time I listened to Angelina singing this song, I was overwhelmed with emotions. I felt every word as she took me away on a journey to her world. Maybe because I've been following her since the time that she was 7 years old and watched her progress from one level to another and I feel like a proud grandpa. I feel the sadness in Adele's voice while Angelina's version to me feels hopeful. Let's go easy on Angelina and her family, allowing them as much time as they feel they need before allowing Republic Records to begin to promote her. Have to figure Angelina has been very busy writing a lot of new songs over the past 2 years while not releasing very many new performances.

One is the reigning Queen Of Jazz and the other one is a non- jazz singer who is one of the most beloved writers of songs which she also sings beautifully. That being said, there is no way a non-jazz singer can match the emotion a true jazz artist like Angelina can evoke so that it reaches the furthest depths of the human soul. Had she still been alive, perhaps Amy Winehouse who could give Angelina a run for the money but I personally doubt it. Angelina does use nuances and inflections like Amy, including slurring and abrupt changes in mid sentence, but her vocal quality is so much more versatile and extensive with regard to range.

I respect and like Adele a lot as a person and as an artist, but in this comparative situation between them, I would say that I saw the original video only 1 time and I was happy, because despite admiring the power demonstrated, I think it weighs a little the whole context. It doesn't mean one artist is actually better that another, but more that a specific person likes one version better than another. I enjoy comparisons where you can say this person did this with that phrase, and the other person did it this different way. One person stressed a particular word and the other person stressed a different word. Those are comparisons worth listening to and I enjoyed yours very much.
I to was not a fan of Adele until I heard Angelina do some covers of her songs and now, I am a fan of AJ doing Adele covers. Angelina can cover anyone and make their songs an absolute dream work. As usual; AJ has taken this to an ethereal level she is without a doubt a genius. There is something that is so special about AJ and It is not just her wonderful voice; it is her total being that draws one in. Remember she is only 15 but has been astonishing people since she was 6 years old.
For some its an attribute of their voice but the interesting thing about Angelina - its actually a choice. She can switch the raspiness on and off, there are covers where you wont even hear any of it.
I think it's easier to do a cover version because you can put your own interpretation to the words but the composer is putting her history and personal feelings into the words! Angelina done a good cover version of an Adele song

As we know a singer has to find her own story within a song. I felt whilst Adele was singing about the devastation of divorce, Angelina was singing to her younger sister, apologising for all the upheavals in her family needed to support Angelinas career. How many times were they not able to make an event Juliet might have preferred. They even moved to America. I thought the lyrics really applied to Angelinas situation. I do not think they were any less profoundly felt but Adeles were torment and heartbreak and Angelina was a plea for understanding and an apology. It is no surprise Angelina expressed that this song was special to her.
I feel that Angelina relates strongly to the brilliant writing in this song. She too made decisions far to young that have altered the course of life for her whole family. She knew what she wanted from an early age, now she has to live with the pressures those choices create. The price she and her family have to pay to create this beautiful catalogue of music.

I'm not taking anything away from Adele, because I have no musical background at all, I just know what I like. Even though Adele has a nice voice, to me, it lacks the emotion to get across the point that her video helps deliver. In my 67 years, I haven't heard another singer that portrays the emotion and feeling in their voice like Angelina does. I am very familiar with Angelina, so I didn't need a video to know what she was saying in the song, her voice painted the video that would accompany most other singers.

IMHO I see 2 differences: First Adele's message is about her emotions around an early marriage/divorce life experience. and Angelina is about being a child and making a choice to live her music without having the time to "feel the world around me". Second Angelina chooses to emphasize certain parts of the lyrics more with her musicality: a crescendo on "let me in", a airy/whisper on the first "Go easy on me", a crescendo on "But now I give up", a crescendo on "I had good intentions" and a talking/jazz riff on "but I know right now"." These are the parts that gave me a greater emotional connection with Angelina.
Angelina at just 15 years old ,a full blown masterclass vocal artist ,who is still getting better and better . Angelina is poised to dominate for many years to come. Love them both but I prefer to hear Angelina, she just touches a special place even Adele does not .

It’s hard to compare the two versions. Mind you Angelina did this live whereas Adele’s was a music video not to take anything away from her writing a beautiful song but there’s no comparison. They are two different renditions and let’s not forget the age difference.

I don't remember the title of that song. Search for "Wings of Pegasus Allie Sherlock". The title of his video, I think, is "I really don't know what to think about music anymore". So before insinuating without any proof that Angelina Jordan uses autotune, check with your favorite singer and her "real voice" first.

Good for Adele that she lost that extra weight that ultimately could affect her in her old age, but one unfortunate side affect is that her muscles don't support her breath as well as when she had the extra weight to sort of push against and she lost some of that power it's like a fighter changing weight classes she still has a great voice but has a long road to recondition work the voice out every day get that strength back... Hmmmm I wonder if she wrapped herself up in some sort of "corset" not the old school lace up thing but some thing to hold it together, nah just do the work it's better in the long run.

I disagree that Adele and Angelina have "similar tones". A.J. possesses an ultra-velvet quality and color in a voice that is incomparable. Adele is a great songwriter and has done well with the voice she has, but hers can sound like a whiny cat. The tones of Angelina the Great's are so much more profound.

It doesn't mean one artist is actually better that another, but more that a specific person likes one version better than another.
I enjoy comparisons where you can say this person did this with that phrase, and the other person did it this different way. One person stressed a particular word and the other person stressed a different word. Those are comparisons worth listening to and I enjoyed yours very much.

fan of Adele until I heard Angelina do some covers of her songs and now, I am a
fan of AJ doing Adele covers. Angelina can cover anyone and make their
songs an absolute dream work.
As usual; AJ has
taken this to an ethereal level she is without a doubt a genius. There is
something that is so special about AJ and It is not just her wonderful voice;
it is her total being that draws one in. Remember she is only 15 but has been
astonishing people since she was 6 years old.
For some its an attribute of their voice but the interesting thing about Angelina - its actually a choice. She can switch the raspiness on and off, there are covers where you wont even hear any of it.
I think it's easier to do a cover version because you can put your own interpretation to the words but the composer is putting her history and personal feelings into the words! Angelina done a good cover version of an Adele song

Anyone can sing anyone else's songs as long as they follow copyright laws. Angelina actually done a brilliant cover version and many others have as well. Santana's Black Magic Woman being comproble to Peter Greens (Fleetwood Mac's) one of them!

As we know a singer has to find her own story within a song. I felt whilst Adele was singing about the devastation of divorce, Angelina was singing to her younger sister, apologising for all the upheavals in her family needed to support Angelinas career. How many times were they not able to make an event Juliet might have preferred. They even moved to America. I thought the lyrics really applied to Angelinas situation. I do not think they were any less profoundly felt but Adeles were torment and heartbreak and Angelina was a plea for understanding and an apology. It is no surprise Angelina expressed that this song was special to her.
I feel that Angelina relates strongly to the brilliant writing in this song. She too made decisions far to young that have altered the course of life for her whole family. She knew what she wanted from an early age, now she has to live with the pressures those choices create. The price she and her family have to pay to create this beautiful catalogue of music.

I'm not taking anything away from Adele, because I have no musical background at all, I just know what I like. Even though Adele has a nice voice, to me, it lacks the emotion to get across the point that her video helps deliver. In my 67 years, I haven't heard another singer that portrays the emotion and feeling in their voice like Angelina does. I am very familiar with Angelina, so I didn't need a video to know what she was saying in the song, her voice painted the video that would accompany most other singers.
This song sounds like it was written for Angelina. Adele is a brilliant singer/songwriter with an astounding voice and skill. Yet, I have listened to Angelina's version almost 75 times, now. I listened to Adele's twice. The video is a hundred times better too. Maybe it's because I'm already enthralled by Angelina. But to my ear, Angelina sings this better. 😎

I think with Angelina's talent it's not far off to assume that she has a good chance of becoming as equally famous as Adele one day.
IMHO I see 2 differences: First Adele's message is about her emotions around an early marriage/divorce life experience. and Angelina is about being a child and making a choice to live her music without having the time to "feel the world around me". Second Angelina chooses to emphasize certain parts of the lyrics more with her musicality: a crescendo on "let me in", a airy/whisper on the first "Go easy on me", a crescendo on "But now I give up", a crescendo on "I had good intentions" and a talking/jazz riff on "but I know right now"." These are the parts that gave me a greater emotional connection with Angelina.

Angelina at just 15 years old ,a full blown masterclass vocal artist ,who is still getting better and better . Angelina is poised to dominate for many years to come. Love them both but I prefer to hear Angelina, she just touches a special place even Adele does not .

I'm not a vocal expert, but I teared up listening to Angelina's version, didn't happen when I watched Adele's version. To me that leans me towards picking Angelina's version.
When Adele sings it's real and you can feel her heartbreak. Angelina obviously doesn't have as much life experience yet. Off course massive credit to the person who wrote the song itself!! Let's hear what Adele could do with an Angelina song before we can ever begin to compare. I was obsessed with Angelina's performances on AGT and she sings Adele to perfection but a lot of over inflection is creeping into some performances, I hope Angelina goes forward keeping it simple and clean.

It’s hard to compare the two versions. Mind you Angelina did this live whereas Adele’s was a music video not to take anything away from her writing a beautiful song but there’s no comparison. They are two different renditions and let’s not forget the age difference.

In a video recorded at her home, Wings of Pegasus, which analyzes various performances, discovers that not only in one of her video, does Allie Sherlock probably use autotune, but she tries to pass off this song where she lipsyncs (miming) as a live performance. I don't remember the title of that song. Search for "Wings of Pegasus Allie Sherlock". The title of his video, I think, is "I really don't know what to think about music anymore". So before insinuating without any proof that Angelina Jordan uses autotune, check with your favorite singer and her "real voice" first.

Good for Adele that she lost that extra weight that ultimately could affect her in her old age, but one unfortunate side affect is that her muscles don't support her breath as well as when she had the extra weight to sort of push against and she lost some of that power it's like a fighter changing weight classes she still has a great voice but has a long road to recondition work the voice out every day get that strength back... Hmmmm I wonder if she wrapped herself up in some sort of "corset" not the old school lace up thing but some thing to hold it together, nah just do the work it's better in the long run.
Adele is a much better singer & so is her song. I'm not saying Angelina's version is bad, I just don't think it's great like most everybody else does. I mean this isn't a case of someone again doing one of Bob Dylan's songs better than Bob does. Haha...

Angelina is still young and it still feels like she is imitating s way of singing without really nailing it. Her expression is all over the place and she needs to keep it simpler. She will get there, she has become much better the last few years but there is still road ahead.

I disagree that Adele and Angelina have "similar tones". A.J. possesses an ultra-velvet quality and color in a voice that is incomparable. Adele is a great songwriter and has done well with the voice she has, but hers can sound like a whiny cat. The tones of Angelina the Great's are so much more profound.
