@@bucksedge okay tried what I could. I have a healthy 383 that was mated to a 700r4. I recently swapped it to a standard trans under the impression I could use a 400 sbc flywheel. Now in the truck it idles perfect but has a vibration when I snap the throttle. Kinda goes away up high up coming down I can feel it again in the lower rpm range. Stumped and about to give up. Any help would be great. Thanks
@@stevelessard9477 Okay so a few questions so I can assist. 1. Is this a used or new engine? 2. Did it run good before with a 700r4? 3. Does it have a smooth harmonic balancer or one with a large groove/notch in one side? Seems like you identified this as an externally balanced already just checking.
the lt1 is both internally balanced in the front and externally balanced in the rear.
I built a 383 Stroker.my forged crankshaft is internal on crank snout and external balance on flexplate.thats how skat builds there crankshafts
Is this a gen 2 block or 1 piece main? Yes they are a little different than gen 1
@@bucksedge gen 1
I'm having a balancing problem. I'll pay you to talk a minute and pick your brain on my 383?
You are welcome to pick my brain for free here in the comments. If its something more technical that requires a phone call I can arrange something.
@@bucksedge I appreciate it. I have 2 things to try if I fail I will message you tomorrow evening thanks kind sir
@@stevelessard9477 Best of luck to you on the 383! Do not hesitate to ask
