I was in school when I saw Kati Patang , then almost all his movies. In fact my whole family were his fans.
My Mother was his biggest fan. She used to love watching all his movies n songs on TV.
I am 58 years old n still feel , no one can replace him ever.
When i was a kid about 10-11 yeard old, i used to watch rajesh khanna movies but never liked him. I did not even think he was that handsome. Later in my life I heard about his superstar status and all is hit movies, and now i started respecting him. But never developed appreciation enough to watch his movies. On the other hand, amitabh bachchan movies attracted me and to this date I am his fan.
Just want to say a kid that young does not know media hype or politics, it was an innocent choice.
I completely understand your opinion but sooner or later all have to accept he had some limitations too.

That is complete nonsense . He was late at the sets also because there was so much demand that often he used to do 2-3 shooting shifts . Also he was the most working actor - even in some years in the 80s he was working in 15 movies in a year ie more than one movie a month !!!

Nobody can act like rajesh , particularly in Anand. He was great actor, you can't survive in filmindustry just on mannerisms for such a long period he had given more solo hit movies just on his acting power, just by wearing Khaki chaddi wala dress thru out the movie in Bawarchi he stole the show on his acting power. Stars will come and go but Rajesh khannna was the one and only one Super Star
Exactly! His roles were quite diverse - from a cook to a terminally ill man to a criminal to an ageing grandpa. And quite a few of his films were social dramas and women centric movies! Not all of them were fluffy romance movies as people believe today.

Good video.Fair research work & editing.In my opinion Rajesh Khanna was the ultimate romantic hero...such as Uttam Kumar in bengali cinema.He was a good actor too.Films like Anand,Do raste,Amar prem,Safar,Aap ki kasam,Roti,Mehbooba,Prem nagar etc. he acted so well.Aap ki kasam was the best as a psychic husband.But always remember him as a romantic hero.In Anand he was already a superstar and Amitabh a new comer.But the contrast acting style was evident.In Namak haram Amitabh proved his talent and Rajesh Khanna's crown was at stake.In late sixties when Rajesh entered in films...it was a romantic & musical atmosphere all over the country.So people used to romanticise with his looks and songs.In mid seventies...when Amitabh recognised...people were full of troubles.They wanted a saviour who can rescue them....Amitabh filled up that vaccuam and became another super star with a difference.His action & style was like hysterria all over the country.Amitabh was more versatile & intellectual actor.Whereas Rajesh was emotional & still stick to his old style.People accepted Amitabh & rejected Rajesh Khanna for that reason.It's all matter of time.Now it is a controversial matter that whether Rajesh Khanna's films were more artistical or not...we can not deny the reality.
