Bonnie Stilwill was born in Challis, Idaho, in 1932, often visiting the Sawtooth Valley during her childhood. She moved to Cape Horn in the early 1960s, when her husband took a job with the Forest Service. Bonnie later worked as the clerk for the Stanley Ranger District.
