    Since recording the video (2 weeks ago) I have been using the light every day, around 12 hours per day, and I haven't had a single issue with it. So far, it seems like a reliable product and I find it hard to imagine my workspace without it :)

    Great review.
    I’m old enough to remember when everything was made of either aluminum or steel and then everything went to plastic which made items like this seem so cheap. Glad to see quality returning.

    As always, a great review. I've been following all of your e-ink tablet videos, loving their thoroughness and sifting through my options. This product wasn't even on my radar. But it's exactly the kind of lighting I need. After your endorsement, I immediately made a purchase. Much thanks!

    Hi!
    First off all, I love your clear, professional and thorough way of testing and describing. Thank you for that.
    Since March I’m working at home and the lighting conditions are, compared to the office, very poor. So I was looking for a lamp that provides good lighting, and looks good as well, without cluttering my ‘desk’ & living room.
    I’m surely going to check this possibility.
    Enjoy the holidays 🤶🎄🍄
    With love from Rotterdam, The Netherlands,
    Iris

      @@MyDeepGuide I have seen some advertised in retail for “influencers” and they are so tiny, perhaps 25-30cm diameter. Haha, perhaps the size varies for the uses as well, those were advertised for using on the face.

    Nice, I bought mine (Plus) just w week ago.
    My views:
    1. I also would like to see a bit more angle in the forward direction.
    2. It barely fits on my Benq pd2720u monitor which I didn't expect because I assumed benq devices are comlatible. I really had to force it in for it to stay on top
    3. I ordered it after I started having headaches and problems with my eyes, and the bar helped. There're gone now.
    4. The bar did not work with the USB port in Mt monitor, I had to plug it in into my PC.

    OMG OMG! This is EXACTLY what I wanted to get Hubby. He draws maps and writes at his desk both on screen and off and the little lights that I got him, well, I’m not sure they will work. So we can use those for something else and just now, I used your link to buy him this. I cannot say thank you enough. Also, I LOVE that you retain full editorial rights. This is language I shall use for when I get to that point. Thanks for the gift idea and the lesson. Wishing you a wonderful 2021. Cheers and boogie boogie, Ivy

    Good to see you are branching out to different technologies. Variety will keep you growing. This light is definitely something I could use. Do you thing it will be possible to also place a video camera on top of the monitor with this light. We use the camera for Teams meetings.

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 роки тому

      Thank you :) I'm not sure that's something that can easily work, as it's not a perfectly flat surface and it has the usb cable going over the flat part of the mounting clamp. I was actually checking that out yesterday, and I was able to place my camera on top of it, but it's not a good or reliable solution, so I'm inclined to say, most likely no, but in some cases (depending on the web cam mounting mechanism) you might get lucky and be able to place a web cam safely on top of it.

    For anyone wanting something on the cheap side for desk use (not in front of the computer) with an e-ink device, I can recommend the IKEA HÅRTE lamp. It's pretty cheap, plugs into USB, is pretty bright, and is somewhat diffuse (not as nice as the BENQ lamp that Voja is reviewing)
    It miiight be out of stock where you're at, though. I got it about a month ago at the IKEA here in Dallas, but it's not on their website anymore, and it's available on amazon for a pretty ridiculous markup. Pity, because it was one of the brightest lights in the store (for some reason, most of IKEA's desk lamps are pretty dim).

    I have a dual screen setup similar to yours -- vertical dual screen not the more tipical side by side. My larger monitor has its own USB ports. Do you think this type of USB could work as a stable power source?. This light looks really good, I have a very nice side led lamp with auto-dimming and color temp settings, but it does not work well for 10+ hours screen time ..
    Thank you for such great review!

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 роки тому +1

      I personally would try, but not rely on the monitor power, because some monitors suspend their USBs when they go to sleep, or they deem the USB as inactive, and that can disrupt the power supply to the lamp. Some monitors don't do that, and it's almost impossible to find out from specs which monitor does what to the USB hub they house. So yeah, I'd try it, if you're lucky, it'll work fine, but I'd also have a backup solution. I always use an externally powered usb hub, that's always powered by stable flow of current, and in that config I haven't had a single problem.

    That looks like an awesome light, I want one!
    I know you get what you pay for, and I hate to be THAT guy, but $99.99 is a little hard to swallow. Seems like if they could hit more like a $69.99 dollar price point, that just seems way more reasonable to me.

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 роки тому +1

      It's expensive, but imo it's worth it, because it really does work very, very well.

    • @crazytexasgypsy
      @crazytexasgypsy 3 роки тому

      @@MyDeepGuide My feeling is there are many high quality full featured desk lamps at this price and even less. Making a lamp in this form factor should be Cheaper - not more expensive - than its full sized counterparts, as it requires less material, is less expensive to ship, and they even seem to not include a power supply to save even more cost. At the $99.99 price point, I just think it’s almost a ridiculous price, just seriously and honestly.
      Getting it down to $69.99 is not me saying that I just simply wish it was cheaper (who doesn’t wish that about everything right?) but more saying that’s the price point where I would even consider it in a serious way. Everything else about this product seems great however.

    Would like to see the comparison to the substantially less expensive competition. Is auto dimming worth 4x, 3x, or 2x the price?

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 роки тому +1

      For me, yes, plus it's not just the auto dimming feature. It's the build quality, the diffusion of the light and shadows and everything else, pretty much. I can't really imagine my workspace without this anymore, to be honest.

      @@MyDeepGuide thank you. There is something to be said about adding luxury to your workspace.

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 роки тому

      After a bit over 2 weeks of use now (video was recorded a while ago) for those who spend 8+ hours in front of a screen every day, I'd say that this is far more than luxury, because it really helps relax the eyes so much. I can't imagine not using it, honestly, and I can't believe that I haven't known earlier that this kind of a thing exists. Either way, it's become a requirement now for my desk setup.

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 роки тому +2

      Only 2 that I am fluent in, Serbo-Croatian (technically it could be divided into more languages because of a very complicated history of the Balkan region, but let's not open that can of worms) and English. I can read and speak ok Norwegian, and I can read and understand some German, but I haven't used it in a very long time, so yeah, not a language I can use. I've also studied Latin and Ancient-Greek while I was studying archaeology, but yeah, I can just read those, can't use them in any shape, other than knowing how to read the Ancient-Greek alphabet. And I write and read Cyrillic alphabet, but that's simply because my native language is like that, we all use both alphabets in Serbia.

    • @crazytexasgypsy
      @crazytexasgypsy 3 роки тому +1
