Each time that you enter into a combat, and back out, the bond rings are rolled forward by 31 rings. I saved up 10K bond points until I got Leif to roll for the thunder bond ring, and I noticed that I was seeing repeats after entering combat just once between spending all of my points. After some testing, I found that it was exactly 31 rings that you shift forward every combat. So for me, it was best to spend all of my points, and then to enter combat and back out three times before I started pulling again, to ensure I was getting all new rings.

If you are willing to do some early game grind, you can get the magical Levin Sword by refining a Steel Sword from the Blacksmith. Dire Thunder is what’s giving Citrinne a chance to kill things and hopefully gain enough levels to be on my A team. Otherwise she dies instantly to any enemy that can range her…
Another thing that may be worth mentioning if it's not obvious is that, if you save after finally pulling an S-rank, it may be worth pulling another 10 to see if any of those are also S-rank before you restart the process.
Sorry did not mean to come off as insulting or anything, the only utility she ever really gets from it is breaking some axe units, but most of the time she’ll just use magic
Do Note: Osian bond ring from Leif, while having no special skills, is one of the only bond rings to give Build. (Spd +1, Lck +1, Bld +2). The other ring that gives Build is Greil from Ike’s pool (Str +2, Def +1, Bld +1). If there are any units that rely on Build boosts from Sigurd or Leif in order to not get doubled early on, inheriting build from Leif early is useful but depending on the amount of SP available to you or the margin by which build is needed, it may be beneficial to lower the SP cost by pulling for Osian.
One, this is an amazing video. I did not know any of this and honestly overlooked that the S Bond rings had skills..... Two, Olwen's Dire Thunder is amazing, but I'm not sure how much it will be used once you have maxed out weapons. It can only be used on Thunder, of which a +5 Thunder has Mt: 10, Hit 90, Wt:10, Rng: 1-3 Doubling that is essentially a Might of 20, and each hit I believe crits individually, if they do at all. Thoron on the other hand gives you, at +5 Mt: 23, Hit 80, Wt:16, Rng: 1-3 So, by using Thoron, you have 3 more might with 10 less Hit, if the Thunder user is using Olwen's S Bond ring. HOWEVER, the Thoron user is able to use an Emblem Ring on top of having the high might. So despite having 10 less hit, you're going to get SO many more benefits. It is of course incredibly good despite that. Especially since you can get it so early and thus won't have Emblem Rings to put on your whole party. But once you have enough Emblem Rings that everyone can use one, as well as Thoron+5, going the normal way with that is better.
You do know you add a character's Mag stat to each hit, so, as long as the target doesn't have super high Res, you can't just count it as double Mt and call it a day. (I mean, Celica's Echo attack used even without any Backup units and such around should be a good indication where halved Mt with double attacks can still be stronger.) Plus, of course, Thunder weighs less. 4 moderately damaging attacks can very easily beat one high damage attack. Brave weapons are stronger the stronger the unit that wields them. Though, it does mostly come down to a question of if you're going to be fielding a magic focused unit without an Emblem because they're all on other units. And Thoron with the 20% boost skill probably is also at least competitive with Dire Thunder. If you can only choose one to focus on, lower Wt will always be the more reliable way to lean if you don't know how much enemy Spd you're going up against, but at least the 20% to both Thunder and Thoron gives you a bit of flexibility.
@@Shalakor Shalakor, the Thunder family of tomes can't double, so their weight honestly isn't relevant unless you're somehow at risk of getting doubled yourself.
@@modothegreat108 Ah. Hadn't seen that much of the game when I commented. How about a video going into what each S - Rank w\ Ability does, list position for it, what rings you’re using, and what rings work best on what characters. I think it’s needed and would be dope. 👍LMK
This is great to know so soon after the game's release, and so early in my run! Very helpful to know not only how to get good rings, but what kind of benefit there is to look forward to from them.
Chuppa with the super niche tips we never knew we needed. And presented in the best quality too. Looking forward to more tips. Edit: that last tip sound broken af
If anyone's curious, I worked out the probability of getting any S rank bond ring to be 4%. That being said, since there are 10 rows, getting a specific bond ring would be 0.4%. That means to get a specific bond ring would reasonably take between 17-116 resets. 17 resets for the same odds as a coin toss, and 116 if you are really damn unlucky. Needing more than 116 resets would be the same as rolling snake eyes and a 1 or a 2 on a third dice. Assuming a reset takes 5 minutes, that's between 1hr 25m - 9hr 40m for a specific ring. On average, it's about 2 hrs 7m for each specific ring.
thats a lot of math but fortunately you can speed it up a bit by having multiple thousands of bong frags and knowing the enemy/green unit count on the chapter you are resetting on
The same principle can also be used in the LVL up of the character. Select a character in the arena that is before an LVL-up, increase a few attributes = reset -> Take this hero with you in the next battle for the LVL-up (small increase = reset), after a battle try it again in the arena and this one Repeating the process isn't really effective before the characters stagnate in the LVL
Funnily enough, I've seen some Bond Rings played in high level outrealm trials too. (basically Engage Aether Raids) The most played ones are without a doubt Sothe with his Bane and Finn with his Miracle.
Great stuff! It's worth noting that if the S Rank Ring you summon is in the 10th position, you gotta spend the 1000 frags anyways so you may as well just do the ten pull to save time.
A few skill that you might have forgot imo are bane/lethality and healtouch Bane can backfire but still is good for putting any unit at 1 hp and lethality is great any unit with a high crit rate... particularly knife and bow units if you choose to not go after more range. It's just my opinion but i think those skill are worth going after as well.
I'm only a bit over halfway through the game so far, but I already though that magic seemed too good and now you're telling me that dire thunder exists? Jesus, rip archers.
This is a fantastic set of tips. Well... it would, if I wasn't so overwhelmed with the stuff thrown at me and mechanics to learn. I'm on chapter 5, and I really don't know what to do with all these options. Except putting Sigurd on Louis.
hey. sigurd on louis is a good start! just use the units u like. play by feel. its a single player game, some people like me have fun optimizing everything, but it isnt necessary at all. the best part about fire emblem is crafting your own unique story from the units you choose to use.
Hopefully it’s less overwhelming after 2 weeks, but I’ll say Céline with Sigurd does the most override damage out of anyone if you give her a levin sword. If you have your magic emblems on other units then it’s a really good choice
I watched this guide so many times and got so tired of pulling that when I got Mae I was really excited... not realizing what I wanted was Olwan... darn it.

I go to Lyn’s paralogue which has 22 enemies so it should allow me to get Edelgard in 10 single pulls but then it doesn’t work and Edelgard shows up over 100 pulls later and Dimitri was 200 pulls. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
Damn, I have thrown *so many* bond fragments away because I didn't understand the mechanic, but now that I now, Etie and/or Pannette will get their S-rank Claude ring (and Longbow+5)
make sure that you enter the map, exit the map, then save. If your intention is to change the pool, make sure that whenever you reload you enter and exit a map again and save again. If you want to keep the same pool, that is when you dont enter the map after reloading.
Just found out. If you start start a battle and retry, it also resets the rng. It seems to work in jean's prologue but not in yunaka's story quest... im very confused. Start map, start battle, retry, save, exit map, roll. Really useful when there are 3 cutscenes!
I wish that getting s rank rings was easier normally. I know you can meld rings but it’s so expensive for skills that aren’t even that big of game changers, they’re just useful. I didn’t even know that bond rings could have skills on my first play through
hay thank you for the video! i started your meathod for windgod.... but LMAO i got it as ring 4 in my first pull! of all the crazy odds i didnt even need to reset at all! Also Anna is my warrior so shes happy with us expanding her client reach!
Great video! It works without fail. The only thing that I would add is that if you save in the ring Chamber instead of the map screen you save time because if you get the s rank ring you want with a 10 pull you reload in the chamber to start manual pulling instead of the map screen.
That’s assuming you get the ring you want which most of the time you won’t so it doesn’t save that much time. You’ll need to reset the rings by going into battle anyway
Yeah, actually it’s better to save on the map screen and have a second save in the ring room. That way you load up the map save if you don’t get the ring and load the ring room save if you do.
Sadly I didn’t see this video until I had already reached Chapter 14 😭 Been trying to get Lissa or Chrom’s S ring for almost 2 hours, but I think it’s time to give up lol. I’ll probably try doing this again when I start my Maddening playthrough.
Yeah, this is the worst. I've recently started rolling for S-rank rings again at Ch-13 (awful timing) and entering and exiting a map/paralogue takes too damn long on the OG Switch. What I've started doing is pumping all my bond fragments to create bond rings and counting the pages it takes to pull an S-rank. Then, I just reset, enter and exit a map multiple times, then I try again. I currently have both Lyn's and Lucina's paralogues open, so I use Lucina's to roll the seed forward by 9 and Lyn's to roll it forward by 32/33-ish (forget the exact number). This method is much, much faster and involves far less sitting through loading screens.
I'm trying this now and idk if something is wrong on my end, but if I want to reroll entirely, I have to go back into the chapter, and then exit and save. Like just reloading normally won't change the RNG. That might've been obvious though, idk

Dire Thunder is what’s giving Citrinne a chance to kill things and hopefully gain enough levels to be on my A team. Otherwise she dies instantly to any enemy that can range her…
Wow, this takes forever... Loading screens hurt
It's 2023 and we can still abuse fixed random seeds in fire emblem. Wouldn't have it any other way.
Damn, you're right. Warrior with a Longbow IS fun. I haven't even gotten Claude yet and I'm having a ball :)
This guide was great! I feel like it answered all of my questions about bond rings I could’ve possibly had. Thank you!
The ability on Mae's S rank ring should have been "Big Hurty Lightning"
Another thing that may be worth mentioning if it's not obvious is that, if you save after finally pulling an S-rank, it may be worth pulling another 10 to see if any of those are also S-rank before you restart the process.
thank you, I don't know why those drunk baboons in the dev team tough it was a good idea to have gatcha in this game.
I got sad when I realized the mutton skill doesn't actually exist.
Alear is not the only sword used before chapter 7, Celine can use swords and magic
omg youre right. damn. gotta re-upload so everyone knows to un-equip celica for navarre.
Sorry did not mean to come off as insulting or anything, the only utility she ever really gets from it is breaking some axe units, but most of the time she’ll just use magic
not at all, and i think it's worth mentioning. i just didnt put it in because i forgot she could equip swords
wanted to apologize. I'm using Navarre ring with Celine rn and it's fucking awesome.
And here I was, doing honest gatcha
"honest gacha"
I cannot believe the magikarp shiny egg method works in fire emblem lmao
It's not exploit we're just using our time crystal mechanics 😂.
Yes! Love your guides, this game’s UI isn’t super intuitive for me. Your guides helped me a lot with enjoying three houses more.
Do Note:
Osian bond ring from Leif, while having no special skills, is one of the only bond rings to give Build.
It can only be used on Thunder, of which a +5 Thunder has
Mt: 10, Hit 90, Wt:10, Rng: 1-3
Doubling that is essentially a Might of 20, and each hit I believe crits individually, if they do at all.
Thoron on the other hand gives you, at +5
Mt: 23, Hit 80, Wt:16, Rng: 1-3
So, by using Thoron, you have 3 more might with 10 less Hit, if the Thunder user is using Olwen's S Bond ring.
@@Shalakor what 20% boost skill are you talking about?
@@jaredponder4149 Mae S bond ring (from Celica)
@@Shalakor Shalakor, the Thunder family of tomes can't double, so their weight honestly isn't relevant unless you're somehow at risk of getting doubled yourself.
@@modothegreat108 Ah. Hadn't seen that much of the game when I commented. Totally wasn't expecting that, just like all the people that assumed you had to let the enemy thief open the chests to get the items just because locked chests have been so heavily ingrained in the series. I mean, Bolting not doubling isn't uncommon, but the rest not is hard to guess at.
Edit: But, wait, that context makes Dire Thunder an even more unique and powerful boon.
Such a quality guide so early in the game idk how you do it choops
If only there were a Mila's Turnwheel in the Ring Chamber...
Warriors are a good time
I can't be the only one on a quest for a Dorcas S ring just find whether Mutton is an actual ability or just a Meme.
How about a video going into what each S - Rank w\ Ability does, list position for it, what rings you’re using, and what rings work best on what characters. I think it’s needed and would be dope. 👍LMK
This would be incredibly easy for them to patch. I really hope they don't
I managed to get a Deirdre S ring early on and it's pretty silly. Give it to your clerics and abuse the block damage skill they get.
Maybe another video on best rings for late game? Ryoma’s Bushido ring on Veyle has been nice.
On average, it's about 2 hrs 7m for each specific ring.
thats a lot of math but fortunately you can speed it up a bit by having multiple thousands of bong frags and knowing the enemy/green unit count on the chapter you are resetting on
Oh my goodness. I had no idea dorcas was in here. I was not really interested in this game 6 minutes ago, but I think that has changed
Also I just realized after pulling the Olwen ring that Lyndon's ability and starting class is perfect for this
Chops really out here 4 days after launching dropping a guide like this… 😌
he works fast and he works for the weeb people. weebple if you will
4:07 Celine is able to use a sword. so, her and Alear.
Sadly this doesn’t work for me, it’s the same set of rings every time regardless of doing the begin chapter trick.
I've noticed now, after I reload then go back and do the 10 roll, it gives me the same 10, everytime I reroll
Damn, I wish I'd seen this video before I spent thousands on bond rings.
I need to re watch this shit when im sober
The same principle can also be used in the LVL up of the character. Select a character in the arena that is before an LVL-up, increase a few attributes = reset -> Take this hero with you in the next battle for the LVL-up (small increase = reset), after a battle try it again in the arena and this one Repeating the process isn't really effective before the characters stagnate in the LVL
So we can now turn wheel IRL?
yes
Funnily enough, I've seen some Bond Rings played in high level outrealm trials too. (basically Engage Aether Raids)
The most played ones are without a doubt Sothe with his Bane and Finn with his Miracle.
I'm pooping in a bucket
@@Choops6969 HEY THAT WAS MY BUCKET COME BACK HERE GIVE IT UP, AND I EXPECT IT SHITLESS
Great stuff!
It's worth noting that if the S Rank Ring you summon is in the 10th position, you gotta spend the 1000 frags anyways so you may as well just do the ten pull to save time.
Or just reroll 9 slots and get it for 100 fragments. :)
When I buy this game I'm definitely using this guide and using my Bond rings efficiently
okay so buy it
loser doesnt even have the game yet
Dang this is some dope info. Glad to see your making vids again brother!
had the Renewal ring on Framme, and man its feels way too good to chain guard more effectively and often.
Ah noo this video has just popped up for me after I've completed chapter 11 (if you know you know) 😂 will definitely give this a try though later
A few skill that you might have forgot imo are bane/lethality and healtouch
Bane can backfire but still is good for putting any unit at 1 hp and lethality is great any unit with a high crit rate... particularly knife and bow units if you choose to not go after more range.
It's just my opinion but i think those skill are worth going after as well.
healtouch I wish I did add. I'm using it a lot in my current run. the others I don't think are worth noting tbh.
I watched this guide so many times and got so tired of pulling that when I got Mae I was really excited... not realizing what I wanted was Olwan... darn it.
I havent been cheesing ring pulls, and I didnt know it was so coveted but I did manage to pull Olwen's S ring. Feelsgoodman.
I’ve rerolled Lief nearly 60 times at this point and seen every S-rank in his pool except Olwen. Talk about getting unlucky lmao
I’m trying to get the the 3H lords rings and Edelgard was on pull 32 and Dimitri was on pull 59. I go to Lyn’s paralogue which has 22 enemies so it should allow me to get Edelgard in 10 single pulls but then it doesn’t work and Edelgard shows up over 100 pulls later and Dimitri was 200 pulls. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
This looks fun, but I'll only do this after the first playthrough
hey, it'll be here when u need it! gl.
@@Choops6969 not if they patch it out.
unlikely, but it could happen
I sorta wish you could use a bond ring AND an emblem ring, since once I got enough emblem rings I didn’t bother with the bond rings sadly
Thank you for this video it was informative, so I subbed :)
My favorite part tho was how abrupt and funny the ending was lol
I used this coveted, JUICY method to grind for Dire Thunder for a little over an hour.... and it was completely worth it, this shit is broken lmao
Damn, I have thrown *so many* bond fragments away because I didn't understand the mechanic, but now that I now, Etie and/or Pannette will get their S-rank Claude ring (and Longbow+5)
Doesn't work for me... no matter how many times I reload... it gives me.the same 10 non S rings
make sure that you enter the map, exit the map, then save.
It has to have a cutscene. The cutscene is what triggers the chain advance.
Your content is always awesome. I've missed seeing videos from you. Keep it up!
I wish that getting s rank rings was easier normally. I know you can meld rings but it’s so expensive for skills that aren’t even that big of game changers, they’re just useful. I didn’t even know that bond rings could have skills on my first play through
trust me you’re gonna need all the stats you can get for Chapter 10 little Timmy
ITS FUCKING ARENA OVER AGAIN
i see what they did with claude ring... i presume Fire Emblem Heroes influenced the gimmick idea based on broken passives while you are at full hp.
Thanks for the video, following your steps I was able to get 3 S rings with passives, Ryoma/Bushido , Marissa/Lethality and navarre/deadly Blade :D
heck yeah. that's great. glad it worked out 4 u
Yeah did about 20 minutes of re rolling and got a S Rank Olwin, it really is a game changer
YESSSSS another choops guide. I hope you like the way Leif was portrayed :)
hay thank you for the video! i started your meathod for windgod.... but LMAO i got it as ring 4 in my first pull! of all the crazy odds i didnt even need to reset at all! Also Anna is my warrior so shes happy with us expanding her client reach!
Man... this makes me want to restart my run...
i want to go back and optimize everything :(
Stonky 👏 mentioned 👏 in the video 👏 that's my buddy 👏
@@aninymouse1651 hola (tilde) ani! too many people are paying attention to the credits 😅😅
Yeah but that would waste time. You waste way more time doing 40 resets for the s rank ring you want...
I’ll probably try doing this again when I start my Maddening playthrough.
gacha be gacha'ing. i hope you're more lucky next time!
We can become thanos with these rings lol.
I love the sarcasm "amazing story" lmao
I am Lowkey about to restart my save 😂😂😂
