A few years back, Shabnam was invited to Lahore Gymkhana. There I asked her about Robin never working with Madam. At that time, she did not mention this rehearsal incident with Madam, and simply said that she did not interfere in Robin's work. She even denied that Robin composed music for Sawan Aaaya Tum Nahi Aaaye but left the film because producer wanted Madam to sing his tunes. His tunes were later recorded by his assistant. I wish somebody could tell which song Robin rehearsed with Madam,, and in whose voice was that recorded later on.
Shabnam never acknowledged the success she earned due to songs sung by Noor Jehan. Few examples are Andaleeb, Dosti, Dil lagi, and many more. And now she openly criticizes Noor Jehan’s style of singing, what a thankless person.

I guess we will never the real reason why Robin Ghosh never gave Madam Noor Jehan nor Madam Nahid Akhtar a chance. Both were outstanding singers and gave so much to Pakistan Film Industry. Both had a great variety of singing talent so it just surprises me why Robin Ghosh never have them a chance.
Pl try to understand,both naheed n noorjahan had heavy n paindu touch voices.infact naheed ruined image of heroine with her voice.ghosh was bengali influenced musician where sweetness of vocals is prime thing.this sweetness was in mehnaz n nayyera voices,decent n sophisticated.thx god we have some good music coz of them.
