FOR NYers, THIS IS TRULY THE FIRST GENERATION THAT CAN SAY THAT OUR KIDS AND US ENJOY THE SAME TYPE OF MUSIC. WHETHER IT BE SALSA, HIP-HOP, HOUSE. THIS SAYS ALOT ABOUT OUR MUSIC (THEIRS &OURS), HOPE IT DOESNT END WITH THEM.
Omg..this track brings back so many memories Frankie knuckles used 2 test this song up at the powerplant in Chicago..circa..1982..yeah. Ya ll better..jack this tune...alright...yeahhh....rip Knuckles..miss u bby...gbless..20
Ahhh so this the name of the song. Great tune."Don't Stop" is probably more well known. Thanks for the post. This is how we find song when the name is unknown.
these are exactly the words my parents told me when i was listening to this kind of music about 25 years ago. just that they talked about bill haley ;-) . time goes by - music changes and everyone loves the music that you hear when you are young and have the best time in your life. that´s the way it is but there is in fact good music today too in my opinion.
well i think times are different today and the days when you are young are allways the best. for the music i must say the 80´s were the most innovative times i can think of. listen to my other uploads and you know what i mean.
@mattylga I know what you mean, there is something organic and real about that kind of dance music, and bill haley is fantastic too, bips and clicks and lack of musical hook is happening a lot now, but you still have artists who touch that organic feel and natural accoustic but still in a modern and contemporary way, check Daft Punk, Phoenix and most recently 'Flooze - On the scene' which sound very similar to that KID tune, it is on youtube as well
@mattylga You may just be looking in the wrong places my friend. Listen to some LCD Soundsystem or anything released by DFA for that matter and you should find something you like :)
Sorry to say, maybe you are getting old, lmao. There is plenty of excellent well arranged music like this and better. This music was never played on the radio, you either had to go the club (real club), a house party/jam or hooky set back in the day. Many of the Djs that were putting out true music like this are still producing great great music and havent reached their prime yet, ie. David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Roger Sanchez, Lil Louie, (MAW) & Marlon D. You need to get out more!
I happen to be young now and find these old disco beats superior. I'll take disco ANY DAY, BABY!

92 KTU FM supermix with Paco, NYC early 80s in the parks on boxes.
I love that they were still using strings in 1981, strings had pretty much disappeared from disco music after 1979.

nice one
I prefer synth sound in early 80s like this to the current one that is digitized too much.
