I don't understand why you push the gain to demonstrate how it breaks up too much. Turn the gain down and volume up. I have spent the time choosing this amp. It sounded better to my ear at room volumes than anything from Fender or Supro at that price point. You talk way too much tech jargon use your ears. Every demo I've heard of this amp doesn't give it justice it's difficult to record it that's true.
I don't own one, but someone brought one into the studio I work at the other day. Long story short: this thing records really well. I don't care about anything but what comes out of the speakers, and this amp does the thing. To each their own I guess.
I wish Vox made something inbetween the 15 and the 10, like an AC 12.5 with a larger cab than the 10. Around 40 pounds would be nice. I play a 15 HW and it's great but at 50 pounds it's a bit much, and is too loud for a lot of venues these days.
Thank you so much for this information and your perspective. With so many people gushing about pretty much every amp out there (including this one), I really appreciate your giving us a better insight. I've been binge-watching your channel because you are really putting out great information.
Why does it seem like amp companies just can’t be themselves. They’re always trying to be everything to everyone and wind up losing the trust of a lot of loyal customers.
really appreciate such a clear explanation of the circuit and how it affects the sound - everyone can have different opinions and give those aspects different significances, but it’s so much better than just arguing about taste without any technical detail. really loving the channel!
ive had my Vox AC10 C1 Custom (greenback speaker) for 6 or 7 years with no issues. i run it relatively clean and overdrive it with an Electroharmonics Glove. the sound stays smooth and full, to my ears.
The Creamback version is sublime. I like that crispy attack tho it's definitely more mellow with the Cream. If you back the treble and bass down to 3 o'clock and crank the gain and master it is VERY Marshally in all the good ways
I found an AC10C1 used for half the money of a new one, Replaced a noisy Power Tube (plus the other 3) and found a Celestion Greenback to replace the VX10. Speaker was a noticeable upgrade. It's a home use amp that I use at low gain and lower volume settings. Sounds good to me. It does have some of the noises as mentioned in the video if cranked up but I don't play that way so I'll keep it.
You are not playing. PLAY

it’s. a great little amp. i’ve played over 50 years now, 66 years old tried many amps through the years. this one is NO letdown to me

Has this guy ever had a positive review of an amp?
Thanks for all your opinions! I still love this amplifier

I have been playing for 40 years. Totally disagree. I have owned and played old and new Vox amps. The 10 sounds fantastic.

I think only well versed Vox owners would notice this.
I use mine with a gretsch g5422tg, an epiphone les paul custom and a classic vibe 60s semi tele.
I like the sound of the AC10 over the AC15.
That was just your opinion but we all know they are amazing 🔥🔥🔥

Tone is personal as you say and we all know to be true. Add to that our ears are trained to hear what we want to hear.
Thanks for taking the time to explain in detail why sounding different doesn’t mean inferior :) ✌️❤️
