This is looking awesome. Is there a way to get that project section auto tracing function to work on the facade of the point cloud? I think that would also really help. I'm currently doing Lidar scans for facade reworks and looking at different software on how we can get some updated 2D plans for them
Thanks for the enthusiasm and feedback on our product. At the moment only the section cut will be auto-traced by lines indeed. Of course you can use the raster image option of pointcloudprojectsection as a guideline to help you manually trace over the lines as this raster image will look to the entire section volume, instead of just the cut plane. That being said, we will pass on the request to our product team. You can help us better define what you think would be a helpful feature, by stating your exact use case and current problems in your workflow in a Support Ticket. You can find our support system on our website under your account, where you can indicate the ticket as ‘Feature Request’ for BricsCAD > Pointclouds.
Hi. Really nice tutorial. Now I have version V24. Question is: how do you import scanned possitions ? I mean that Bubble View mode. From what original files was imported and how ? Do you have any tutorial about this, how to get buble view ?
Hi @Jartiera, thanks for your question. Point cloud bubbles are only created when points are scanned with static scanners and points are grouped per scanner location. LAS and PTS formats do not contain scanner information, so they cannot produce point cloud bubbles. We don't have a separate tutorial about it, but there is a recent discussion on our forum regarding point cloud bubble views, which could be helpful: forum.bricsys.com/discussion/38600/bubble-not-visible
This could be done via LCONNECT command, like demonstrated at ua-cam.com/video/v0JDMQtsUCE/v-deo.html This Help article provides a useful information about working with walls, including walls connecting: help.bricsys.com/document/_guides--BIM_modeling_techniques--GD_creatingwalls/V23/EN_US?id=165079162357
Unfortunately, the point cloud resolution is not working im my trial version BricsCAD-V21.2.07-1-en_US(x64). The appearance is the same for 8 million or 100 thousand points and the general aspect is of low resolution. It's impossible to model pipe routing or steel structures. If it was not this, my company should change to Bricscad. What a pity. Fortunately, I solved the problem. I just had to update the graphic drivers and all stuff worked identical and totally like in this video. Sorry.
Hi there, Thank you very much for this helpful video. Actually, after I attach the point cloud and then I try to use the Geometry commands/options (Detect Floors, Project Section, Fit Planar and etc..), I got a message saying "Unable to recognize command "POINTCLOUDDETECTFLOORS"". May I ask for help on this issue as I have to get the floors correctly drawn 2D and as 2D Floor Plan. Appreciate your time Thank you

Hi! When i import a file .rcp then BricsCAD V21 notify a problem as: Error in initializing file reader for "file" (check 8 or 16 bit data). Can you show me how to fix this?
Possibly the file is corrupted and then the file reader cannot be initialized. Could you try to open it with the free software CloudCompare? www.danielgm.net/cc/ CloudCompare may return a meaningful error, like the checksum is not correct. If the file is OK in this program, we need to check it on our side and kindly ask you to create a support request and attach the .rcp file to it. You can do it on our web page (the login is required): specify the version you are using, the operating system, explain the issue and attach the file www.bricsys.com/protected/support/NewSupportRequest.do
what program did you use to generate your e57 file? i am having trouble generating a single e57 file which contains the positional data of all my scans?
BricsCAD does not generate e57 files, it only reads and stores them for use. You could use cloudcompare. If you are having trouble using a e57 file, please, create a support request on our web page (the login is required) where explain in details, add a drawing and our technical support analysts will be glad to help you: www.bricsys.com/protected/support/NewSupportRequest.do
Thank you, very helpful. I have now turned that point cloud adaptive display off, it was horrible! It is a million times better now. I wish this was defaulted to 0 from the start, would have made me a lot happier from day one.
If you really want it, please submit a support request about default value of POINTCLOUDADAPTIVEDISPLAY variable on our web page (the login is required), so the development team could take into account your opinion: www.bricsys.com/protected/support/NewSupportRequest.do
Now I installed a demo of BricsCAD. But the progress bar is not displayed in my BricsCAD demo, when attaching a point cloud.

With the point cloud fit planer I end up with slightly angled true walls but then how do I get all the shell to meet up to create the box?
