Yesterday I picked up a French edition of Corso's poems in the basement of a second- hand bookshop on Charing Cross Road. I found it by chance. The book contains four books of his poems, gasoline, the happy birthday of death, long live man, elegiac feelings american, plus the hand drawn The Geometric Poem.

I actually saw Corso around this time frame in Jamestown, NY giving a reading in a public library. Not saying it was '89, but it was definitely sometime between '88 and '90. Normally, I'm terrible with dates, but I went to the reading with a professor of mine, so that narrows it down.
He paused during the reading, which was more just him talking, actually, to go and hit on the librarian. Apparently, he struck out.
This is a true story.
