- अब क्या होगा इनकी sales का ? क्योकि Sales Figure July की इशारा कर गईं 🔥 In July 2024, around 3.43 lakh passenger cars were sold in the Indian market. This represents a 2.5% drop compared to July last year, but a slight 1.1% increase over June 2024.
July was another sluggish month for the passenger vehicle industry, with sales remaining muted due to a lack of fresh demand and the high base from the previous year. The heavy rains in various regions further impacted business. This dip in sales has led OEMs to ramp up discounts to attract buyers. Notably, Mahindra slashed the price of the XUV700 by a massive Rs. 1.5 lakh in July 2024, marking the biggest discount on the model since its launch.
While OEMs have been pushing more wholesale billing to dealers, retail sales (actual sales to customers) have lagged. However, with the festive season kicking off in August 2024, starting with Onam in Kerala, automakers are hopeful for a boost in sales.

Amit ji, I have a couple of questions for you:
1. You had commented in the past and made a video suggesting reasons of the significantly low sales of Hyryder in comparison to Grand Vitara. In the light of last months' data where Hyryder's done 3/4th of GV business, what do you think has changed?
2. You mentioned people may not see EVs much as owners may not be driving them that much. But is that situation (low usage) a good case to even buy an EV? Wouldn't it be more economical for someone with low usage to go for Petrol vehicle?

Observations:
1. Sonet is eating into Seltos' sales. Also, the the HTK (O) and iMT variants are unique value for money propositions.
2. Baleno numbers are the biggest surprise. I wonder if MS has deliberately been slowing down the supply of the car to dealerships to promote Swift (sent by truckloads in previous month) by suggesting it's available quickly to get the car seen on the roads more.
