    Yay Frizzle’s mom for going out of her way to reunite you with your hiking poles!!
    I just missed meeting you. I stayed at the Thistle Hill shelter the 8-9 night of June. Left at noon after long rain.

    I just love your positivity. Frizzel is a super sweet person and i was left with a nice impression of her. 😊 Hi Frizzle, 👋
    Stick, I really have enjoyed watching you.
    I havent watched to the end yet, so I really hope you get your poles back.
    Maybe an angel will return them to you.

      @sticktheeagle I notice that you are aware of the times you are aggravated and "grumpy," but then you stop and look for the good and positive. That's a gift and it's wonderful that you got it so young.
      On my "angry" days, I do what I call "Thankful Therapy " and list all the things in my life that are good. 😊
      Hike safe and happy.

    Will Stick use his new tent before he gets off trail or after he returns? Was hiking with one pole better than two? Did Professor Nickels make it into town for more town food? Will Frizzle come to Sticks rescue, yet again? Tune in tomorrow folks... same time, same channel... Happy Trails! 👟🎒🗻🪨⛺️🌲💚🥾

      After I return. I can’t hook up with my tent before then. I prefer two poles since that is what I am used to using on trail.

    Rain at night when you're in a actual dwelling? Perfect! Oh, well, you need new poles anyway -- the tips were gone from the other ones and it would be better to have sturdier poles before Maine. You probably need to consider that. However, that was very sweet of Frizzle to share, and super sweet of her parents to bring you your old ones! Those orange newts are actually called "efts". They are the juvenile terrestrial stage of the eastern newt. After the aquatic larvae stage, eastern newts enter what’s called the red eft stage. The red eft is easily recognizable with its bright orange coloring and rows of black-ringed spots and that's what you see in the woods. Later, they become mostly aquatic again. Adult eastern newts look quite a bit different from the efts. Instead of bright orange skin, their skin becomes a nice olive green with a yellow stomach and lots of black polka dots. Also, Hanover is a very cool town if you must spend time in a town. I love that cute little grocery co-op they have right by the trail before it disappears into the woods.

      @sticktheeagle 3 місяці тому

      Very cool eft lesson! Thank you! I might get some new poles before Maine, though a small part of me likes the idea of finishing the last couple hundred miles with the same poles.

    Sounds like you had a rough morning. It sure was nice of Frizzles' parents to bring your poles. The scenery sure was pretty in that area. Very cool you saw a couple cubs too. You shouldn't be so sad about not meeting your expectations. Because when you were meeting your expectations you were upset that you weren't with your tramely. Yup see you just talked about previous expectations. Its not always going to be unicorns and rainbows no matters what your doing. It would make things easier though😊 Great to see Frizzel and Nickels again❤ Hooray Nickles!🎉 Get a goodnights rest. Tomorrow will be a better day.
    Remember to always embrace the journey and happy trails. ❤

    Flowers are lupines. You will see more of them. My husband and I started being trail maintainers on a state forest trail near us after I finished my AT home as payback. It's a lot of work but as a hiker you know how much it makes a difference. When discouraged I ask Jesus to show me the beauty to refocus my mind. Glad you got your poles back. Nickels and Frizzle are great friends.

    Stick you need to start stretching and somehow rolling your calves. Look up calf stretch back leg straight. This will help your feet!!
    Keeping your back leg straight and your back heel on the floor, bend your front knee and gently bring your hip and chest toward the wall until you feel a stretch in the calf of your back leg.
    Also I think you need to talk with scout camp to see if you can complete the AT with Nichols and Frizzle. It would be so much harder to do without support from friends. I bet they will understand and work with you on this! It even looks good on a job application 😊
