Had a nice resurgence after Perks of Being a Wallflower used this during a dance scene in the movie.

I was 16 when this song was popular. I did not appreciate what a perfect pop record it truly is and thought it sounded old fashioned at the time. How wrong I was!!!

Fun note, The singer fired the drummer during the video shoot, which is why he is absent at the end of the video.

Oh, love this song …love you! When it 1st came out in '82, whenever it came on- no matter what you were doing, you just had to get up and dance. I'm 61 now, and whenever I hear it...I still have to get up and dance like a maniac. (luckily, I'm usually at home by myself. But my cats run under the bed pretending they don't know me. Don't blame them)

Celtic Soul Music never quite caught on, other than this song.

Question? Maybe the way they look impoverished is because in 1982 the Irish were British slaves. I think you’re looking at a video about 2 enslaved people trying to form a relationship. I also notice that the two women walking the baby are alone and nobody has control or are empowered over anything. Seems like modern day Russia.

Fun fact, that's not true at all. "It likely has roots in the same nonsense word "turelurelu" as that used to indicate the sound of a flute in the French-language Christmas song "Patapan" recorded in 1720."

I do like this song but it just gets played too much on some UK radio stations. “Jackie Wilson said”, “Geno” by this group are also good choices. Also “There there my dear” is a bit more of an obscure one.
