Nice video. My rucksack was a free gift with the radio from MLS, it’s annoying because it’s small for a rucksack, great for the radio but nowhere for food drinks and safety equipment for hiking. I totally agree thats super expensive for a piece of plastic. I was very lucky to pick one up in Japan for a few pounds new. 73 Steve

I just ordered this bag. looks like I have to buy the bracket also. Always additional expenses when it comes to radios :). 73

It currently goes for 180 USD, which is a bit much for an 11-liter bag.
The top-mounted radio seems nice in theory, but I wonder how well the system works when there's nothing to prop up the top-heavy bag. Tent stakes (I keep a few tenpenny nails in my outdoor kits as auxiliary stakes) and guy lines?

It's "okay", but yes; top heavy and at times awkward. When I use it on motorcycle trips, I hang it off the handle bars. Works grear like that.

Agree 100%. My workaround is similar. I use the Peovi cage and on the bottom of the cage I have a quickfit socket for my tripod. Together that gives me my height. It makes for a very tight fit though. 73 de VK1MF.

Question - Does the radio fit into the bag with the Peovi! cage attached?

@@MarinusWillemstijn Yes but it is quite tight. I should probably do a video.

Someone needs to come up with a screw that will hold the strap and bracket on together.Time to fire up the lathe?
That’s for the heads up on this .

if you screw the strap on correctly - the radio CANNOT fall behind the front bar nor will it fall out of the bag.

I just purchased an IC-705 with the LC-192 bag. I have to agree with Are - it does fall behind the bar if you insert it properly so it rests on the bag’s rails. If you have different info please post it.
I’m taking his advice and ordering a MBF-705 bracket, the radio could use it anyways and I’m not thrilled with the bulkiness of the otherwise excellent Nifty brand stand for this purpose.
