My favorite song from the hp franchise
This is amazing! I love playing my trumpet but I've always struggled with the higher notes. I remember as a kid a couldn't even get a middle G. Now I'm an adult and have recently started playing again after 15 years! i can manage up to a high G but I can't get any higher! I wanna play the upper register so bad! 😔 I'm just hoping with more practice it will come fingers 🤞. Any tips or advice? ☺
Well-Paced Repetition. Overworking the muscles in your lips can hurt your playing, so be sure to know your limits and work it the way you would any other muscle.
Fingering is a bit easier to work on because you don't actually need to be playing to work on it. When you're doing other stuff, like watching tv or something, practice the positions with your hand. Try going in scale patterns to drill in what the actual notes are.
Practice and a lot of patience. Keep with it and over time you will start to move up one note at a time! After 30 years of not playing I have played for 1 year around 3 times a week and I can now get an A with some confidence. I managed to get a D two weeks ago and I was stunned but it remains elusive again!!! Muscle memory is the key. Good luck xx
Thank you! It's great you're playing again! It looks like some people have already given you some good advice :) Just keep with it! Try to use less pressure when playing high notes and let your tongue and air do the work.
I've learned that lip slurs help a lot :) Also, try not to use too much pressure (I understand it's pretty hard to control how much pressure there is sometimes, to help a to not be as tempted, don't hook your right hand pinky where the hook is, just rest it on top) Good luck!! :D
Try the Schilke 13a4a or similar shallow cup mouth piece. It's a lead mouth piece designed for the upper register and for extreme volume. I recently got the Schilke Symphony series model S3 which also gas a shallow cup for upper register and heavy weight for good tone. good luck!
lovely. more Harry Potter pls
Thanks! I do have more HP planned for this year :)
Amazing
Thank you!
Brilliant. Articulation is excellent!
Thank you! I appreciate it :) There's some nice articulation patterns to do in this one.
It would be nice to have all this play alongs but without the melody (just the backing track). Don't get me wrong, you sound great but I prefer to play the melody alone. Btw thanks for your work.
Thanks! Yea, I mainly do it this way so there's still incentive for someone to buy stuff. Many of these songs come from play-along sheet music books that come with accompaniment tracks. If I put up the sheet music without my trumpet and put the accompaniment with it, then there would be no reason for anyone to buy from the actual publishers :)
Hello, I am a trumpet player as well and love Harry Potter is there a way that you can maybe do a medley of most of the Harry potter music. I’m asking so I can play this for a competition. THANK YOU for the pieces already, great playing.
Thank you very much! I've never put together a medley like that before, but maybe some day :) But best of luck on your competition :)
If you played the entire thing up a whole note it would be in the original key
That probably would've been better. I played it based off the sheet music and backing track I had.
@@thetrumpetman haha I have the same book, just an observation I made after comparing the sheet music to the soundtrack. If you ever get your hands on a C trumpet you would play it as written and it would sound like the real version.
@@egb625able lol it's a good book. Yea, I could do that if I sprung for a C trumpet. But not planning on it rn
cool play
Thanks :)
Hi do you have any tips on how to get back up to my original range after getting braces (anything would be appreciated school starts in 2 weeks and I haven't practiced yet......)
Hmmm, I've never had braces before, so I'm not sure. I would search around UA-cam. There seems to be a few videos of people talking about how to play trumpet with braces on. They might help :)
Ima try play this on piano
aye, do it
Can someone tell me what are the upside down notes im used to upside notes
The upside down notes will be the same. It's just the line goes the other direction.
You are out of tune man
You ain't wrong lol. I remember back when I recorded this, I struggled for some reason in the part of the song with the triplets. The intonation just wouldn't lock in for me.
