Code Vein - I disliked code vein so much, nothing felt satisfying, all the areas were bland, the story annoyed me, I never finished it. It also feels nothing close to any of the souls games for me. Dark Souls 3 - SOME PEOPLE DON'T READ THE DESCRIPTION... I started Dark Souls 3 like 3 years ago and only got past the dragon on the bridge, then I stopped and never touched it agian. How can I seriously count that if I barely even remember anything. So yes, this is the first true Souls like for me, thank you!

I'm playing dark souls 1 blind and its my first souls game. All I knew beforehand was sif and pain. Now I know everything up to the dragon, save for a few secrets here and there, and, of course, more pain. But only 13 deaths without knowing crap is pretty fantastic
Growing up these games literally taught me patience, problem solving, and acceptance of tough trails and tribulation. Souls games actually helped me become a patient, calm, and determined person irl.

I think I had a similar experience with Dark Souls 3, except that I more realised that I wasn't good at PVP. And that after 7 hours of continuous gameplay I needed to stop, cool off and come back the next day, instead of try to ram the annoying Hollow/rat swarm/demon cleric/rat swarm/archer/rat swarm/giant/rat swarm/Irillyth guard/rat swarm/dungeon boss/rat swarm that was getting in my way. I'll give you one guess as to which of those ended up triggering my gamer rage the most frequently.

It's pretty easy to essentially have near-exact names to impersonate another player. Only reason I think that might be the case is the drastically different style of play and etiquette.

Right around 52:00 when Shen fell to her death on the way to the Flamelurker, I had that exact death so many times today while trying to get the Hands of God.
I did a very cool experiment with my wife in order for her to play the Souls Series. She tried by herself and me giving mininum tips, but despite liking games in general, she still is not a Souls fan to this day. But what made it more bearable at least for her is that I plugged two controllers and we megazord'd everything. I would basically control movement and rolling, and she would control attacking, blocking, parrying and items. And it was so cool because there were moments that talking wasn't even necessary! I would walk towards someone and do a very brief pause, she already understood that was me with the intention of attacking. Sadly my controller broke and they are super expensive with shortage due to the current situation we are experiencing. At least where I live, that's the reason for price increase.

Its better for me in some cases to "test the waters" and go a little of block/parry while i figure out pattern/timing at least for the lesser enemies
