No babe, zit stickers are treatment patches used to make the pimples heal faster - they're designed for over night use but some people are just "extra cute" wearing them out during the day. They must stay! I'm a 40 year old woman and if you take my zit stickers away from me I'll be devastated hahahaha

I turned fifty this year, and decided, as a white, cis female, to lean into my power. I call it all out, anti-transgender, homophobia, racism. If I don’t call it out, who will? Lean into your power, and connect with people who are “other” than you, and find out that maybe, we are all just human. It has really helped me get through feeling like I can do nothing to actually change the world, to feeling like I made a difference for at least in those situations.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I’m 54 and spoke up the majority of my life. What’s super tough for me is my ultra conservative family. I feel like since 2016 we’ve been pulled further and further apart. It makes me sad. If you have any advice, please share.

@@heatherjane910 I face the same issue. The only thing that seems to get through the insanity is me finding something to connect with them on. I have been a loud mouth my entire life, and it felt like I wasn’t being heard. Once I would call them out on, say, anti-gay comments (as it runs SO much deeper than homophobia) the wall/barrier would just slam down. Now I might say, “ so you are worried about men on a woman’s team, or locker room, or whatever, what do you imagine might happen? Instead of me just calling their state, ent homophobic, I ask, with genuine curiosity, not trap setting. Trying to connect with their fear of their daughter being perved on, explaining that this isn’t what people are actually asking for. It’s taken a lot of me biting back angry frustration with despair for the future, and truly seeking clarity on what the issue really is. I figure the lessons learned in South Africa’s truth and reconciliation process, which was heated and very hard for everyone, can apply here. I’ve been Googling the lessons learned, and struggling to apply them to those that refuse to admit there is even a need for this. This is a link to the US peace initiative that has really helped me with language I can use. www.usip.org/publications/1995/12/truth-commission-south-africa
I hope and believe that some day people can come together the way they did in getting rid of apartheid. They did it, so can we.

I wear the acne patches, the stickers, the clear ones, idc what, but it feels so much better than worrying about my zits. They heal in like 6 hours! We used to cover it with makeup that didn’t work and made them worse. Now we don’t even hid it. We just heal it. No big deal. It’s really empowering.

Can I just say let’s absolutely not put sunscreen on certain parts of our faces to get sunburn blush? Every time you get sunburnt not only does your chance for skin cancer go up 80 percent but it causes really bad skin damage. But that skin damage isn’t visible until you are in your 40s+ and it’s completely avoidable if you wear sunscreen (properly). So basically, these girls are gonna have really really bad skin damage just on their nose and cheeks. So just wear your sunscreen normally and put on some blush 😐

I've been doing heatless waves for most of my life because my hair doesn't respond well to heat. If I curl my hair it goes straight within a few hours, if I straighten my hair, it ends up wavy by the end of the day. Heatless ones last much longer for me. I was taught to do it by doing like a two strand braid/twist, and then going into Princess Leia buns.
Although gender dysphoria and hair is a challenge... I don't want it short, but I don't want it to be seen as feminine, so I actually find having more curl helps for some reason.

    • @joylox

What I've done (for the last 10 ish years), was basically start doing french braids at the front of my head above my ears, one each side, but instead of doing three strands in each one, just twisting two together. I usually grab hair from the bottom part and lift it up when twisting to have the hair curl away from my face. Once I get to the end, I'll either do a normal braid, or if I want more curl, keep twisting and then wrap it into buns. My hair is quite thick, so if I want a more curly look, do 4 twists going back instead of two. It also works better with damp hair (not totally wet, but still damp), and I found leave-in conditioner can help too. Usually I wait about half an hour to an hour after showering to do it, or I gently blow dry my hair just a little bit so it's not too wet.

That's what I was thinking! Purposely getting sunburned is a bad idea. I've had skin damage due to forgetting sunscreen on my arms, and it sucks. I'd hate for that to be on my face! Sunscreen and CC cream with SPF are one of the few things I actually do for skincare other than toner and a face cream. Not so much in winter when I don't go outside much (and wear a mask when I do) but in summer, it's important.

JVN! Pimple patches are a life saver! They’re so much better to see than a fugly bright red zit! It treats the zit and does a good job! I think they boost confidence. Please try them out and give them a review! I love the ones from Florence by Mills!! 💜💜

That Y2K braid machine thing is just a recycle of my 1982 Twirly Curls Barbie hair braider, and at least then you got a Barbie with it! (Although the newer machine likely worked on batteries instead of just squeezing it repeatedly until your hand cramped up.)
