Thanks for sharing this with me, I had the same car when I got out of high school and I absolutely loved it, I had a 455 rocket engine with 202 fully heads and I had a crane cam I installed and also had a stall speed converter with a B&M shift kit and a 411 posi rear that I installed in it and I had a sunroof in it too , I really loved that machine it ran high. 12's in the 1/4 mile at atco speedway in New Jersey, thanks for bringing the memories back to me 😎👍
I ran my old's 71 cutlass 442 at atco speedway in the late 80's and the front of tires would lift of the ground when I hit the gas pedal and both back tires would be squealing, I remember it well and I loved it ❤️😎👍
I had a 70 W-30 with a similar paint scheme. Drove it to the track, work and Highschool! I could tell when it hooked because it threw the passenger side floor mat up onto the seat! LOL!!
Excellent, very Nice! I love the Oldsmobile. I had a 76 Salon and a 77 GMO sport. Got a OLDS 455 Engine in the garage on a stand waiting to be built. I'm thinking Race car Rat Rod.
Do not do dry hops. There is 0 benefit and many negatives, like adding unneeded stress to the suspension and drive line. Badass Olds though! Would like to see more
The Playground of Power last time my 1970 442 was running I raced there quite a few times, nothing like racing right towards a nuclear power plant lol but good new last Sunday she is back had 1st start me modello roller cam some head work sniper efi seems to run good. I have a couple vids posted on channel poorly produced lol
Tighten up the rear suspension and let the front end stay up a bit more on the launch and with a little tweaking, that car will hit 8 seconds or close to it.
I hate to be "that guy". I love oldsmobiles (I own a '74 Cutlass Supreme) and this car but they didn't actually make a '71 Hurst Olds. They skipped from the '69 which was a fast back like this but of course had totally different lights and grills to the '72 which was the Cutlass Supreme body. Still, beautiful car and sounds/runs great!
Just something you might try. In my opinion you should skip the dry hops. That's just time for your slicks to cool a bit. I noticed a bit of spin upon launch. If you don't dryhop you may eliminate some if not all of that spin!
The second burnout was proof positive of at least two stats, and I'm just guessing: 850 ft lbs of torque, about 750 horses. The Doctor. That car is a handful!!
In 1972 (for this car) it would mean, 4-barrel, 4-speed, dual exhaust... Then in the 1980s, 4-barrel, 4-speed(automatic trans), dual exhaust Then in the 1990s it was, 4-cylinders, 4-valves per cylinder, 2-cams. It changed throughout the years to mean several different things...
Contingency $$$. Maybe the stickers on the fenders are the owner's business or a friend's business that he wants to advertise for. I know if I was building an Olds I would be interested in who built that beast.
Love that each tap of the throttle brings the front tires off the ground. Thumb up! 😎
That big block torque, OMG the fun!
That Olds torque! He's about to rip the tires off.
Plenty of money and labor is into this Oldsmobile. Awesome.
No two step, no trans brake, no 5000 stall converter, just stomp & go😁 Nice job. I love seeing a well tuned machine.
Serious olds power there i love it.
That's one snappy Olds!
I had a '68 W-30 and loved it.
My brother bought a 68 W-30 new. Yellow with black fender stripes.
A powerful Oldsmobile. Awesome.
Now thats violent !
Talk about torque and right off idle... unreal..nice sounding thru mufflers.. I wonder what mufflers were on this?

You're welcome, don't see many Olds at the track unless its a group.
I ran my old's 71 cutlass 442 at atco speedway in the late 80's and the front of tires would lift of the ground when I hit the gas pedal and both back tires would be squealing, I remember it well and I loved it ❤️😎👍
Best muscle in my opinion it’s got a cool design if this was in fast n furious it would be as famous as the charger
Damn, Pontiac destroyer.
Dude that thing would hook in the rain😂
Looks like he has about 100lbs of weight in the trunk.
That one jumpy olds
72 Tail lights
🔥🔥
Looks like a '72 with those taillights. The '71s didn't have the dividers in the top and bottom lights.
Exactly! There was no hurst olds in 1971.
It is a 1972 hurst olds.
That’s a 72
Crew guy told me '71 😄
@@RACEYOURRIDE Could be a 71 with 72 tail lights
But the grill looks like a 72
Dam he's hooking up!!
Doc Olds Joe mondello rip could make the Olds block a beast
The VO Twister was a beast!!
Byron
Impressive.
time for new suspension
No 71' Hust Olds was ever produced
I was going by what the owner told me but yeah Googled it and you're correct
I had a 70 W-30 with a similar paint scheme. Drove it to the track, work and Highschool! I could tell when it hooked because it threw the passenger side floor mat up onto the seat! LOL!!
H/O came in the Holiday Coupe and Convertible body styles.
That’s not a Hurst/Olds, that’s just a Cutlass S playing pretend.
I was just going by what the owner's friend told me. I should have googled it right lol
It pretended pretty good! ‘Nuf said.
Oh,oh,oh, yes, he's the great pretender🎵...
ci and hp please?! Thx
😐🙄😆😅
👏
nice
Needs a ecu injection with a 2 step
Excellent, very Nice!
I love the Oldsmobile. I had a 76 Salon and a 77 GMO sport. Got a OLDS 455 Engine in the garage on a stand waiting to be built. I'm thinking Race car Rat Rod.
That launch off the line is boss!
Do not do dry hops. There is 0 benefit and many negatives, like adding unneeded stress to the suspension and drive line.
Badass Olds though! Would like to see more
Agreed
His car his rules
Agreed... there's really no benefit to it except undue wear.
Drive y'own car😆
My all time dream car
That's a 72. Tail lights say so.
Definitely a 72 I have a 71 it's tail light s don't have those lines in between is similar but not like this
They will fit both years, but yes, those are 72 taillights
Better not have a BBC 🤔,500 cu in olds hell yeah!!!!!!
505"... 😉
With that low end grunt I would believe it's an Olds. I, too, would be disappointed to find out it's a Chevy, but who knows🤷♂️?
Is that chevy big block in an olds ?
Hell NO
Olds461 motor
That is a cutlass s , no 1971 hurst . All 72 hurst was a square back harttop or a conv . But thats a bad car ...
think he could wash it once and a while
Its a race car not a show car ✌
Is it a true olds powerplant?
From what I understand it is.
@@RACEYOURRIDE yes you can tell by the sound of the engine that it is an Olds
Nice , do you mind giving engine app thank you mines 9.7.1 461
Sorry didn't get the info on the drivetrain.
Stock , but I was wondering on engine sir thank you
Hello is that a olds 455 or BBC motor thank you and my rear suspension is half stock upper control arms only adjustable
Nice, hopefully catch you there!
dr. hurst ???
the jumping 455 is the best !!!
Tighten up the rear suspension and let the front end stay up a bit more on the launch and with a little tweaking, that car will hit 8 seconds or close to it.
I Love It When NO FUKS' ARE GIVEN!! FOOKN' SEND IT!!

Thanks, just going off what the owner said about it.
Your 100 💯 right because I have one
Hell yeah, it's got a good gear under it.
OLDS POWER! Hungry for ricers
Someone accidentally thumbs down.....or they are mental.olds kicks ass.
It's the dodge guys. They can't handle the truth that the olds for 69 and 70 could pound the face off the Chargers.
@@SebastianHalfpenny Not all of us. I can appreciate cars like this, unless it has an LS in it.
455 Olds.on the street...pretty fast
I have a 463.build Olds.373s gear.runs 11.50s.or so.when I hook it she pulls hard.
In a 1976 t/a.no traction bars and stock shocks.it hooks that way.sounds strange but tru
I'm assuming you're on slicks?
Man its a lumpy rumpty idle
Not a Hurst/Olds, but a fast Olds. 😎
Big cams tend to do that...
Must need a tune-up😆
Dr. Olds in reference told performance advertisement. Yeah, I'm an old Olds guy. Thumb up.
Love that advertisement 🤞
So glad this showed up in my recommendations! Love that car so much!!!
Wauuu what a coool 455 jumper !
I learned how to drive in my mom's 71 oldsmobile big block
subbed you....sub me back if you get a chance.....great channel.
Either that car needs new shocks or the torque is incredible? Because it's all over the track
Get the slick hot
High stick; stays up stuck in stick high Jam; pod Santa naste
VERY NICE TAKE OFF WHAT CAM AND HEADS?OLDS GUY HERE
No idea, didn't get but a minute to talk to owner.
Ever see the term ‘hooks hard’? 👍
Oldsmobile oh yeah!
They never made a 71 hurst olds and it has 72 bezels and tail lights so?? I got my 72 in my garage 😂
Just going by what the owner said. Im just the camera man 😄
Just something you might try. In my opinion you should skip the dry hops. That's just time for your slicks to cool a bit. I noticed a bit of spin upon launch. If you don't dryhop you may eliminate some if not all of that spin!
2:05. Oops... better get on that shifter a little faster.. 😬
The only word I can think of is badass.
💯👊

what motor?
Olds powered 👍
Yessir 72

In '64 (original meaning) was four barrel, four speed, dual exhaust. After that you can imagine it as you wish😁
That's a Ridiculous cam in that Beast . No way you could street drive that without the spark plugs loading up with excess fuel ⛽
💯👊
Blackfooted cat; Lord Cat. That's Santa Coral. Where your hood or sunglasses. If her feet get cold. She grabs your eye brows at night.
I really just want the front end on my 68 Olds at least 6 inches off the ground when I gas it. I'm at around 530 hp, but it just won't do it.
Rare;racing symbols; racing stickers
Huh? What's "rare" about the stickers?
Fuck i love the stickers 😅
💯👍
As far as I know they didn't make in 1971 Hurst Olds that was 1972
Just going by what the owners crew guy told me but yeah 👍
Put an airbag, or a football, in the right rear spring....
Never thought of a football😁 Good one. Where'd you learn that one?
At least its being used and not mothballed somewhere
How can a car guy complain hes driving it? omg the Valewws! haha
One of none.
MrSanta
They never made a Hurst Olds in 1971
I was just going by what the crew told me at the time. 👍
Isn’t that a 1972?
I was just going by what the crew member told. It very well could be. 👍
MAGA!!!
Its ansantahigh; dsticks inhigh gear
Thats a 72
Owners friend said '71 but yeah think he may be wrong?
Too much muscle for that frame
Beautiful car
Lose the silly stickers
I don't care WHY they are there
Just lose em
in certain classes they can get $ for running them.
Contingency $$$. Maybe the stickers on the fenders are the owner's business or a friend's business that he wants to advertise for. I know if I was building an Olds I would be interested in who built that beast.
💯👍
Exactly 👍
Man another $$$$$$$$$ priced car turned to crap.Wonder how many classics have been destroyed
More than likely happened years ago when nobody knew that it would be worth a bunch stock.
I don't see ANYTHING destroyed😵💫
