Been waiting for this one to come back around. This thing is looking good!! I AC TIG weld as a hobby and noticed you never use a foot pedal. I’ve been welding on my boat and quickly realized no way I’m gonna use the pedal while inside the boat or when in awkward situations outside the boat. I’ve been using 2T & 4T mode on my welder to get by when not using the pedal, but I see you even prefer hand controlled when sitting down doing hatches. What hand control switch are you running on your torch? I’ve got so much respect for you and all the badass welder / fabricators out there… it’s way harder then everyone makes it look.
This comment is real AF! I'm 21yrs deep in the business this year. If I was a welder that sat at a table every day the foot pedal would be my 1st choice. You have more control by far! At this point, a welder is no different than a drill, or a grinder. It's just a tool. Honestly, the only real difference to me is that the thumb control melts my gloves faster than the foot pedal. My pops always uses a thumb control so, I do too. To each is own! Tig Welding is like riding a bike with no training wheels; seems impossible as a kid till you get it. Then its just another tool to get the job done. I can't explain it. It's something that you learn with experience. I see a bunch of guys welding with aluminum mig guns claiming they figured it out in 2 weeks 😆 🤣. Its total BS; the welds they are doing are a joke. Tig welding is an Art and it's not something you can master overnight. The products I build are built to outlast me. Thats how my pops raised me. Id rather you tell your friends that i fixed your problem permanently than have you as a return customer for the same issue?
As a Wisconsin River Rat who runs a custom 14 foot polarcraft tunnel hull with a 40 merc on it I can say that what you are building will be perfect for how shallow or river has become.
I love watching the progress of the builds. I'm not sure what your thinking about doing for the engine hatch. But for me personally if I was doing it for myself. I think it would be two pieces opening front and back with the front lid over lapping the back. With latches on the sides of the lids. I would use machine screws to bolt down the lids instead of pop revits for ease of engine removal if needed. But that's my opinion. I'm sure you have it figured out. Keep up the great work.
@TRICKED TINS Not a bad idea either. I was thinking ease of removal with less weight to lift but it is aluminum so it wouldn't be that heavy as a one piece hatch maybe a little awkward to move around. Even as a two piece you could still incorporate a seat. Can't wait to see the finished build. Get back to work.
@@TRICKEDTINS I have plans to bulid one similar what size motor did you use ? I was debating on getting the biggest sea ark or tracker boat? How much does the boat weight ?
It's a bad ass boat!
Thanks brotha! coming together!
Excited to how this jetboat turns out! Sure is different than the typical build 💨
You have no idea lol. You thought the yintin was a challenge, this thing is a whole different creature!

Thats not a bad idea. Im thinking big hatch with pistons and a seat pole base in the center.
