    Thank you!
Kept hearing this never ending buzzing clicking noise, coming from behind the glove box area. Turns out to be pretty common issue for FJ cruiser, 4 runner, tacoma & along that line. It's one of the servo unit , air blend door actuator. There are 3 heater related servos in total, and this one seems to go bad for everyone. You can simply replace the unit. or try repairing it. I thought it is the worm gear worn out, but most of the time it's a electrical contact that needs to be cleaned up.

I had the exact same issue on my 2006 Prado (the same car as GX470) and after 4h of struggle with impossible to reach screws I managed to clean the contacts and it is now working as expected. Thank you so much!

How the hell did you get the actuator out?! I’ve been struggling for hours with this

YOU HAVE TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE SCREWS ARE.

The electric contacts will not create any noise. Only something worn/binding on the mechanical side will cause the noise.
If the electric contacts were actually dirty(the electric connectors don’t get “dirty” on their own. If you spill liquids on them, leave unplugged for a while and live near the ocean)
The fact it is making noise tells you the electric circuit is good.
I’m curious if the noise went away
    Did clean work

the noise comes from continuous turning of the motor. it's not connectors. it's contact switch with rotating arm. if you take yours apart , it will make sense. the motor needs to stop after moving the vent to the correct channel., but when the sliding switch contact is compromised it won't allow the motor to turn off which is the noise. And yes if the cleaning the contact ( we are not dealing with any of the connectors) the motor stops as soon as the vent is switched, and absolutely no noise. I did the job about 2yrs ago. still no issue. Disassembly the unit and it will make sense to you if you understand some electronics. cheers

    Hi, what's the part number?

      hi mike.
it's Toyota 87106-35120. it's usually this servo motor that's gone bad.
it's the servo motor responsible for vent mode ( for switching the mode to floor , upper , upper & lower , defrost etc.. )

@@mikeg8013 yeah, you can try to just clean the contact inside the unit. thats what I did. Toyota wanted over $200. I clean the contact and it's been fine since. no more annoying noise. you should try cleaning first. it's worth a try. you clean the contact on the turning rotor , not the motor itself. you should be able to see it in my vid.
      goodluck

I thought the truck was posessed for a while. Then it got annoying and i put my foot through the center console and fixed the noise.. now my buddy has the same noise but have to fix a different way.., thanks sir..
oh and no need for a whole intro with 500 subscribers man.. makes the whole thing seem lame, especially with your slower dialect and chill demeanor.. its just a video about some shit your doing.. not some kinda show or episode..

@@ninjamechanics Hi...how'd did you remove the white wheel part at 2:22? I see the little plastic piece inside but I'm afraid to break it. I tried pushing down.

@@leonardmay9517 at 2:14, you can see the little plastic nib right next to the motor shaft. that needs to be pushed away to the side with a sharp flat screwdriver or picker. if you push it enough the round plastic piece should pull out without too much force. @2:19 that's what im doing with a little flat screwdriver.
