GREEN DAY - "Saviors" Full Album - FIRST REACTION!

- I listened to the new Green Day album "Saviors" on its release day! Green Day has been one of my top 3 favorite bands for over 30 years, so this was a super fun listen :) I spent quite a few hours editing the songs down so that this couldn't be considered a replacement for listening to the full original songs (which I've linked below)! Also I edited them so that the songs would continue to flow on beat, which made it take way longer haha. My goal of sharing this video is to show my reactions to songs and discuss overall creativity and art. Throughout most of this video I'm talking about the music and giving my commentary on it and how it relates to other music. You should absolutely buy and listen to the album first before watching this, as all the songs are chopped up to avoid my video being blocked. This is just meant to be a way to see my experience of hearing the album after YOU have already had YOUR first listen or two!

A bit about me- I've been making a living as a caricature artist for the past 16 years. I also love doing voice impressions, doing song covers, and making original music, including a full album about the life of caricature artists (find it in my playlists!). Music has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid, and my taste has expanded to nearly all genres over the years, including classic rock, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, punk, metal, and alternative rock, electronic music, rap, hip hop, jazz, classical, 80s music, Disney songs (where it all began for me), and more.

This should have more views! Awesome reaction! As a die hard Green Day fan. I love this album. I'm so happy to be out of the father of all era 😂. (This is coming from someone you liked the trilogy to) haha. Great stuff!
Hey thanks, I appreciate it! Yeah I love this album more and more each time I hear it ❤️🎵
@@ericgoodwinart I agree. Thanks for the reply!
god i would sell my soul to hear the trilogy live again
This album rocked so hard. Green day forever
I really love it! Gotta work on starting to learn some lyrics so I can sing along 🎵
@@ericgoodwinartgood luck! Understanding what Billie is saying is almost as hard as interpreting baby sounds 😂 dude does not enunciate but I love it lmao!!
I´ve had a wonderful time listening to the songs with you Eric. Thanks for this review and i´m a new follower for shure!
Hey that’s great! I’m glad you enjoyed it, thank you 🌞
"STRANGE DAYS ARE HERE TO STAY" is the "new" Basket Case.
One Eyed Bastard DEF sounds like ‘So What’ by P!nk, but I don’t think they’d purposely copy. Most times in music, when your on a roll with making something, chances are, someone might have done the same thing
Watching your video would be my second time listening to the album so it’s still pretty new in my head! I pretty much had the same overall thoughts as you! yeah, the first two tracks were ok, solid, sounded like more typical green day but agreed the next few, well, I guess the rest of the album seemed more complex and unique. There were a lot of sweet melodies mixed in with the rock that I always enjoy. But like I said, I think the thing that stands out is how varied and layered and complex the songs/melodies seemed to be after the first two, not they weren’t as well, but maybe not as obvious, might need more listens. I also had the same reaction both times, where you thought it sounded like other songs too! and I know exactly what song you are talking about for the pearl jam but don’t know the song either haha. I think the only thing we differed was you liked a song more than I did, maybe you said it was a new favorite. it was a later song on the album. I listened to your video yesterday but was still too sick to write a full comment so it isn’t as fresh hah. that last song was pretty impressive!
oh and forgot to say good video with good insight and good commentaries and good impressions. good stuff mr. goodwin! :)
Thanks for checking it out, buddy!! I appreciate the comments too! That’s pretty cool that we have a pretty similar feeling about the album 👍🏻 I hope to listen to it again today so I can hear it for the first time out in the wild 🎶
I really liked how much you enjoyed the album. Pretty cool to get different perspectives of things.
Hey thanks!
Also, Father To a Son reaaaally reminds me of the two songs from Infant Sorrow (from Forgetting Sarah Marshall) "Inside of You" and "We've Gotta Do Something" with the strings/synth accompaniment.
I love that movie! But I’ll have to hear those songs again to fully remember them 👍🏻
39:42 okay that sound actually slides in under the song so well though
Haha thanks
Corvette Summer grew on me like an undetected tumor! Such a bop!
I agree, Weezer definitely rubbed off on them. In a good way. One Eyed Bastard sounds like Pink.
Can’t wait to see them at SoFi Stadium this September!
The new album sounded amazing, Some great fast songs and also great slow songs!! My favorite songs are 1981, Dilemma, Look ma no brains, Strange Days, corvette summer and Suzy chapstick but I think every song could have been a hit single, it’s that good
I totally agree! Every song is great 🔥
Strange days are here to stay sounds like it could’ve been on revolution radio. but still such a awesome song
A bunch of the stuff reminded me of BJA's side project The Longshot. Like the guitar run in "Strange Days..." that you liked.
Definitely worth a listen if you havent already.
Corvette Summer is so Longshot too
True true, I haven’t listened to that project in a while!
I said the same exact thing listening to one eyed bastard. Swear I’ve heard it somewhere
I'm wondering at wat point you figured out Living in the 20s was referring to the 2020s, not the 1920s
Haha yeah that was a silly thing to not get right away haha. Never heard someone call this decade the 20s before
"Father to a son" like Robbie Williams
Good video, greetings
Btw the song called one eyed bastard reminds you of the Pink song “ so what “, it’s close but not exact, it also sounds like Iggy pops “passenger”
Yeah it was the P!nk song I was thinking of for sure!
Would you say this record could go up to be a great like Dookie or AI? Do you think this is better than RevRad?
Yes and yes 👍🏻👍🏻
40:41 oh man haha
I don’t know if it’s just me but I loved the fast paced songs in this album yet the slower songs kind of creeped me out. I do like slower songs but not these ones personally😂
