Probably because if you want Xiao or Wanderer, that means you're looking for a full on anemo dps that's not reliant on 4pc VV set. He's not going to tell you to just make Sucrose a anemo dmg dps instead because she's super valuable as a EM build VV user holding TTDS or Sac Frag. Personally I have a anemo dmg dealer Sucrose built on my 2nd account and it's fun, but I don't have a C6 Faruzan to try out budget Wanderer playstyle.

Yanfei's stamina consumption is literally not a bug, her talent description says that scarlet seals decrease stamina consumption. Not specifically charged attack stamina consumption, all stamina consumption.
I always assumed the stamina consumption thing with Yanfei was just a feature of her kit? It works the same with climbing as well and her kit does say that it reduces stamina consumption and not specifically charged attack stamina consumption (which is the case with ningguang), so it's very likely actually just a way her kit works
As a Wanderer main, I much prefer using his normal attacks to charged. Better tracking range and "feel". Plus they have build in aoe damage that doesn't push apart enemies. I have to disagree with Zajef here

honestly i hope the pneuma/oustia mechanic isnt that obligatory as it will be a significant downgrade to the game which has been so great with its powercreep aspect. it would feel awful if it creates an artificial powercreep so that it becomes obligatory to pull on fontaine characters and all characters before 4.0 become irrelevant. is that an attempt to nerf dendro now? they know dendro(nahida) broke the game so hard. And now attempting to force another gimmick down our throats? what abiut natlan? will it have another powercreep mechanic that forces you to pull for characters there too? its the reason why i dropped tower of fantasy not too far into it. when every character becomes a must pull cause a previous one gets powercreeped so hard and the enemies and bosses become balanced around these new characters, to the point that the previous ones become inviable is disgusting. the level of greed becomes disgusting.
It's not. PN/OU basically works like those buffing stone things. You can pull the buff off enemies using the fancy Fontaine mechanic... or you can just blow the buff-rock up with blunt damage or something.
Do we know how it will work? for all we know it may be like the serpent knights. Or knowing hoyo they'll make it work like having 2 characters of the same element, it will not make hard enemies easy, it'll make some easy enemies braindead.
Well, no matter what, something was going to shake up the META a bit. It just isn't in Hoyoverse's best interest for us to decided "Our current teams are good enough, so no need to pull anymore." But worth noting that this wouldn't be power creep. You could still use your existing characters just fine. The difference is you'll need to adjust the team you use them in to fit in one of the newer characters. So, basically, it lets Hoyoverse muck up the META a bit, while encouraging us to pull, but without needing to add powercreep to accomplish that. Though I will say I'm not a fan of these type of mechanics. It tends to result in characters that are okay in their area, but are a bit more lackluster outside of it.
@@hedgeyes6411 as we know those rocks buff enemies a lot, if its like that but worse. we looking at dmg mitigation on the enemy part that would be ridiculous levels that would force you to slot in that 1 character that doesn't really fit your team JUST to pull that buff from the enemy or having to craft teams around that one character. lynette is at least anemo, so just slap that vv on her and she is not complete dead weight, but HMC is looking preeeeety shite for now. i am not thinking overworld.... overworld if enemies be tankier who cares... but abyss is another story entirely.
@@Axterix13 no one thinks that. just take a look at dehya and how many ppl still pulled for her despite how underwhelming she was. Genshin was never about pull to win but pull to simp. To me it worked perfectly that way, i like ayaka, i can keep using ayaka and not having to pull a new cryo character every region. At lease lynette is ok, since she is anemo, she can fit in many teams... but HMC is looking... SO bad.... and he is the only "free" pneuma character for 4.0 at which i would be surprise that mihoyo doesnt just slap the mechanic in instantly the first abyss it can.
I am only pulling for Wanderer because of how easy he makes collecting crystalflies are. There is no concrete power creep in Genshin (yet), but there is definitely mobility creep.
The only reason I pulled Wanderer mainly for farming/exploration and never gonna use him in SA even though I have a built c4 Faruzan which I use with my mid Xiao when I feel like using them. Wanderer just makes farming and traveling the easiest.
To me it came to a point where i need to play him in any mode that has even a little bit of mobility (Like the previous event with custom maps) because almost any other character aside from Yelan just doesn't feel as good anymore lol And if I'm not using him in Overworld for some reason then I need to at least use Yelan to feel good while exploring, unless it's just minor exploring after doing some dailies with exp teams Both of them (And also Sayu a little bit) really made me expect a lot for units with good overworld exploration instead of just dmg and i think that's pretty nice (Tho Wanderer has good dmg in overworld and Yelan is Yelan so no wonder it seems like I'm not picky with it xd)
I would argue that Faruzan is the biggest indicator of Mihoyo’s greed because she feels like the worst of the niche 4 star buffers, and feels comfortable to use at c4 and higher (arguably c6 only). Plus hyper Wanderer just doesn’t hit as hard without her buffs. It feels like night and day without her. I really hope they make the hydro archon like Nahida where their dps isn’t significantly different without the niche buffer.
I think all the niche buffers are pretty lackluster, design-wise. Mika doesn't give physical what it wants/needs. He's the worst one. Sara is clunky and feels the worst without cons, and also pretty pointless now that dendro exists. Why run her over Nahida or getting some role compression from a dendro healer? Faruzan's issues are discussed in this video. And that leaves Gorou, who is NOT a geo buffer, but instead, a geo+def buffer, with the characters really wanting both of those traits. Which is fine when a geo team means Itto, but, well, what happens if geo is ever not as neglected as it is currently? Oh, and I guess there's Shenhe as well, but she's the 4th slot character for a cryo team, because Kaz takes priority, and you'll probably want a hydro for freeze, which usually means Kokomi, and then you've got your five star DPS... so three other featured banner five stars to pick up before her. Basically, only something for people who really love freeze teams to go for.
I think that a lot of the new 4 stars are what they intended the 4 stars to be, not the hyper op kind that we get at 1.0, 4 stars in other games are meant to have constellation to be viable in other gacha. I think genshin only player were just conditioned to expect all 4 stars to be the same as the 1.0 4 stars

I also think they're pretty boring tbh, yeah they're clunky, niche and their personal dmg is often low or nonexistent and I dislike most new characters because of that, but what sucks the most is them being locked to specific teams or 5 stars, I kinda want them to somewhat stand on their own or have the option to do some dmg instead of being an skill/burst bot, when I pull for characters I like, I would like to at least see them in battle for more than 1 second. I'm still disappointed over Shenhe, since she has my favorite design in the game but she's stuck supporting characters I don't want to use, stuck in pure cryo teams and her personal dmg in not good to use her on her own. Yeah I know everyone worship supports, but characters like Layla, Candace, Dori and Mika don't even do that well.
We also need to remember that 3.0 having Tighnari as the new 5*, which was vocalized heavily to be going to Standard, hurt 3.0 a lot more then Kazuha being 2.8. Yes, Tighnari is amazing, but him being a future Standard Character effected his pulls significantly. If he wasn't going to Standard, he would have garnered much more pulls.
They also started Sumeru with a standard banner 5 star, and an underwhelming Cyno and super niche Nilou. I don't think Kazuha lost them any money, and not giving any character for people to roll on for two patches definitely isn't going to make them money.
This is actually the first month since I started playing (shortly before Inazuma release) where I'm not able to buy the 5 monthly pulls from the stardust shop. They haven't released a banner that made me want to go all in since Nahida in 3.2 so my stardust is all gone. The upside is I got enough pulls saved to get the first couple of Fontaine units though.
Dude, don't recommend Lost Prayer for wanderer. I know it seems better than the bell for charge attacks, but it just isn't. Even at full refinement it just barely edges out the average damage dealt by widsith.
I really want Kokomi so I can finally have my hyper-invested Ayaka freeze team, but yeah, Fontaine is right around the corner. I want as many primos as possible going in.
I'd ALWAYS go for Wanderer for the overworld and as long as there are no mounts in the game, he is NEVER leaving my overworld teams. Trust me, he is WAY better than Yelan, Sayu and whatever for overworld exploration.
yeah, as someone with yelan, wanderer is good even if just flying on land. he can fly over bodies of water as well, and scale buildings that are not very tall but have a pesky overhang that blocks you from climbing to the top properly, something kazuha might have trouble with.
I use Yanfei occasionally; once a week for the wanderer boss fight to hit the turrets before he goes down the last time. And occasionally for events with the thunder manifestation or other hard to hit bosses
honestly wanderer is SO good in the open world that it is very hard to not use him once you've tried him. -99% of the time you're not doing abyss, you're either doing dailies, or exploring the map. -his traversal has almost no cooldown, easily the best traversal in complicated terrain. -his damage is high enough to breeze any enemy camp with one skill use -he's not burst reliable at all -he can run any type of support if you need puzzle solving or specific enemy farming (like mushrooms) from normal attack supports like yun jin to driver supports like beidou/XQ, to off field dps like fischl. everything fits him. EXAMPLES OF HOW BROKEN HE IS: -have you ever done a samurai farming route? inazuma is filled with island to island traversal/climbing. well, wanderer pretty much reduces the time by at least half. now apply it to fungi too, since sumeru is also filled with massive gaps in terrain between trees and desert ruins. -have you ever cringed at how far apart the mushrooms spawn in the abyss's 9-10? well, just stand in the center of the room with a bennett burst and procceed to mash normals away and everything's dead in one skill use. similar to yoimiya, but with actual aoe and more range... and don't tell me how "who cares about abyss 9-10" it's the most tedious part of every reset. and he's one of the best neutral shield breakers in the game as well, you can put him vs any abyss shield and his CA spam will do a considerable amount of break, and he's flexible enough that you can run any team archetype and he will at worst be a sucrose sidegrade. you can run vape you can run taser you can run hyperbloom you can run aggravate you can run freeze, etc... i play on my account and do the dailies in my brother's account. it is a massive pain when i don't have wanderer to slash the time of dailies by two thirds.
side note even at c1 yelan only goes even with his speed despite many videos "proving it wrong" and also he is really good at climbing since every time there is a place to stand you can use your skill to go up with out stamina that also regenerates stamina giving you basically infinte climbing as long as there is a place to stand
@@vergil9981 yep, yelan matches his speed only on the ground and is better on uphill slopes. but anything with a gap in between, which is like the vast majority of not mondstat is wanderer's territory. heck he's even the best at gliding to a lower terrain, since you can keep momentum from your skill into your free fall to fall in a small arc (as long as you were moving and not dashing when his alternate stamina runs out)
it's true. it's insane how less tedious the game gets when you get him. and if you have his weapon and run him with bennet he turns almost everything in the overworld to dust in mere seconds.

I play on-field taser Kokomi occasionally, used to main it before Dendro, and while the Donut /is/ her best weapon in that comp R5 Prototype Amber isn't much worse. Even in it's 'niche' it's hard to recommend it.

To be honest I actually would think the best partner would be Baizhu if its a significant teamwide hp drain. Kokomi would need to be on field for full team heals whereas Baizhu would be able to sustain from off-field using his Es.
Are we still on the charged attack copium? Maybe its fine at 0% attack speed poverty assumptions, but once you get to 20%, all these claims become blatantly false.
Wanderer need atleast 40% extra attack speed to make his basic attacks do the same as only do charge attacks. Is not coppium, are calculation, can see it on zajef wanderer post analysis

A request from You. Can You make a complete explainer for how to calculate ER for a character based on a team like You did for Faruzan here. The way You were explaining Faruzan's ER requirements was amazing. I tried replicating the Chart that You made just from memory and logic, and it worked so well. Then I tried the same for My Raiden National, which had minor ER issues with Xiangling and Xingqiu. The calculation there was much harder because of Xingqiu C6 (does the Energy from it get affected by ER or is flat) and Raiden Burst (which has its own complications but was a bit easier to understand because of recourses available online). It would be nice if You explained all such ER and Energy sources and where to add them in the calculation and how other forms of energy works (like white particles and orbs and if You should consider it for worst case ER calculation). Sorry if I spam this in other places as well.
I like that he says that she's "passable" when she can easily do CA's that hit roughly as hard as Hu Taos. I mean, in a vape team I hit like 100k CA's on Yanfei. Not bad for a "measly four star". Kind of weird since this is the guy who stans hard AGAINST any five star units and stans SO HARD for NOT spending a lot of money. You'd think he'd shit on Hu Tao and say how bad she is and how GOOD Yanfei is. Ah well.

When she has 3 Pyro carries who all perform better than her in a role that isn't often needed to begin with since Xingqui can also be used in hyperbloom teams and Xiangling is more than enough pyro for any account it makes sense why Yanfei is as lackluster as she is. Would appreciate it if you stopped spreading misinfo, she can indeed be fun but she's 100% outclassed.

@@twigz3214 She's way easier to play since her normal, charged and elemental skill attacks are auto-aimed. She has one of the best 4* star constellations at C2 for a DPS, which increases her crit rate by 20% when the life of the enemy is below 50%. You don't like to play her, that's okay. But that doesn't mean she's bad, not at all, especially for new players. Mid artifacts with R5 Twin Nephrite and she can easily carry your team at the beginning of the game.
I definitely wish Thoma was on these banners over Rosaria or Yanfei. I use Wanderer as a main carry and plan to get Kokomi, but don't have Thoma past c1. It's not worth pulling for him right now unless he was on these banners.
I was going to skip Wanderer the 1st time but they had to give Faruzan one of my favorite Japanese VA, so i had to C6 her day 1. 😅 Now im saving to do the same to Neuvilette. ❤ Must have Hanekawa, Senjougahara, Kanbaru and Araragi on the same party. 😻
I wish Hiroshi Kamiya was given some other role, I have no hate whatsoever for him he is an excellent VA but somehow I feel his voice don't suit Neuvilette maybe this opinion will change when I'll hear him in-game
10:00 you know, her talent also gives part of her crit rate for teammates after using her (E) skill Althou from 50% (her) crit rate you get only 7.5% crit rate for team for 10 seconds, it is something and for sure is useful
I consider Wanderer one of the 5 star characters with the highest pull value, provided someone is willing to invest in him a lot and aim to Faruzan C6 in the long term (which is tide to his banner), taking a little risk in case of very bad luck (it sucks that there is no way to have copies of specific 4 star characters guaranteed). Luckily, he has good early constellations, and this makes chasing Faruzan C6 easier. Aside from the great value he provides when travelling and exploring (I won’t talk about that, because other people did, and Wanderer’s value from this point of view is already widely known), that alone makes him have a good pull value, he is the most efficient, comfortable, reliable and consistent damage dealer. So, when investing in him enough, we get a character who can carry in almost every possible Abyss line-up (with enemies immune to Anemo being the only hard counter to his teams). All of Wanderer’s attacks have some AoE (and his teams have great compatibility with other Anemo characters used for grouping the enemies with great efficiency, like Venti and Kazuha). He can attack all the time from a distance and at a rapid pace, and his Normal Attacks have fast projectiles with good tracking (this, aside from the obvious advantage against mobile enemies, also make him able to easily clear encounters with groups of enemies and multiple waves, in less time that is necessary, even when we cannot slot someone for grouping the enemies in his teams). He can enter in his high damaging stance without needing energy and on a very short cooldown. He can use Bennet without having to worry about having to leave his circle if the enemy moves a little. He has great mobility and doesn’t have to worry about Stamina, ever. Being an Anemo damage dealer also means not relying on reactions for dealing damage, which can be a pro that makes the damage dealer compatible with a wider variety of encounters. Some enemies have their own elemental aura that interferes with reactions, Wanderer doesn’t care. The enemy has good mobility or flies, Wanderer doesn’t care. Being able to be a hypercarry, also means that Wanderer can have almost all of the team’s damage on his shoulders, this makes the team damage very receptive to the investment we put on him. This is great if someone is willing to invest a lot on him. This also means that his support characters can be focused on energy efficiency, with higher than needed ER, with a negligible difference of team damage, which is great when the damage dealer can deal elemental damage all the time, has a low cooldown, high damaging stance, and doesn’t need energy to use it. Wanderer has great compatibility with most shielders, most support characters and off-field damage dealers, of any swirl-able element. They can help with shield breaking and allow his teams to be extremely adaptable. This also makes him a very future proof character, with teams potentially evolving and allowing him to better adapt to future content. Wanderer is very vulnerable to interruption while in flight, but he can still be used without a shielder for speed-runs, relying on his A4 procs for evading attacks. What’s more important, though, is that usually is better to just slot a shielder, and his teams lose an insignificant amount of DPS for doing that. When using a shielder, Wanderer can use the A4 procs offensively for dash cancels, this can increase his damage per rotation significantly, as performing dash cancels correctly generally doesn’t reduce the amount of Normal/Charged Attacks he is able to perform every rotation, the A4 projectiles are potentially almost entirely extra damage per rotation, and they get better at C1, to the point that in single target the damage difference between using Yun Jin C6/Jean C4, or using Layla C6/Thoma C6, is negligible. Wanderer isn’t even reliant on Zhongli at all. Thoma C6 is a little better for team damage, he is a great upgrade for the team’s energy efficiency (the Pyro particles helps lowering significantly Bennet’s ER needs, and he doesn’t have any energy issue at C4+), his shield has 100% uptime and can be strengthened/refreshed/recreated from off-field with Wanderer’s Normal Attacks. Pyro Resonance and the Normal/Charged Attack DMG Bonus cannot be disabled and don’t have a range limit, unlike Zhongli’s RES shred. Layla C6 as a shielder has the highest ceiling when it comes to team damage, but the encounter doesn’t always allow to absorb both Cryo and Pyro reliably with Wanderer’s Skill (enemies with their own elemental aura obviously interfere with the possibility of choosing the second element for Wanderer’s A1). Layla also allows Bennet to use Freedom Sworn, without stealing any time after activating Bennet’s buffs, with this setup it is really easy and consistent in single target, and with it she naturally funnels Favonius’ particles to Bennet: ua-cam.com/video/xzAUJ_YgPeM/v-deo.htmlsi=lu4k7agORh-U3dOk. With this setup, Wanderer remains without a shield for a moment before landing, but it is still much better than having no shield at all. Usually, I prefer to just use Thoma C6 as Wanderer’s shielder, despite the lower team damage, for the comfort and the consistency, but Layla is great nonetheless. Written setup for the team with Layla (explained): Faruzan > Layla Q and E (being both active, extra Night Stars are generated by Q) > Bennet E (his E removes the Cryo aura, and takes the number of Night Stars from 2 to 4, this causes them to be fired) > Bennet Q (delayed by about 0.5 seconds to allow the first Shooting Star to reach the enemy, applying the Cryo aura) which removes the Cryo aura again (it also activates Freedom Sworn’s passive if using it) > Scaramouche CA (while he performs the Charged Attack, Layla’s Burst applies Cryo to the enemy, and Bennet’s Burst applies Pyro to our character) > Scaramouche E (gets both Cryo and Pyro buff). A little tip for increasing the odds of activating Favonius passive with Layla: instead of Q E, you can do Q N1 E. The N1, not only counts as an extra hit for Favonius’ passive, but also makes Layla do a step forward, making much easier for her to hit the enemy with his E (that has a very small range on the initial hit). Wanderer greatly raised my standards about how efficient the characters I pull for need to be. I have him at C1 with Faruzan C6. So, I’m just hoarding Primogems for future great characters, and if there aren’t enough of them to spend my Primogems I can get a great upgrade for Wanderer with his C2.
I completely disagree with the comments about Kokomi. I have almost all of the characters in the game, save a couple from Inazuma I have yet to collect (Ayato, please come home bb). But having played pretty much every healer in the game outside of Yaoyao, Kokomi still stands out as one of the strongest healers in the game. Her healing scales off her max HP so unlike a character like Kuki you aren't constantly balancing your health bar. And unlike Baizhu, her purpose is solely healing and is not split into shield and heal. She can do considerable single target dmg and has 100% uptime on her skill if executed correctly with enough ER, enabling constant AOE hydro application. And if you're concerned about damage, her constellations can buff her damage considerably. The only other healer I'd say stacks up against her would be Bennett and even he has horrific Pyro application. Yaoyao looks to be an amazing 4 star Dendro healer contender though, and I'm curious to see how powerful she actually is when fully built. Just my opinions though.
It have a good reason to said it. I have kokomi from i start playing (2 years ago) and i use to use her in every team, right now i still user her in blooms, and freeze teams, but not in every team like before. I now use more ayato, and xingchiu, is not that she can't be use in other teams, is that are better options is some other teams like taser, or vape.
@@thebrigade7684fontaine will be nothing like Sumeru. There will be maybe 3 hydro characters max (Neuvilett, Focalors, Bennu - 4*). If anything i'd bet on 75% chance that Kokomi will remain as good if not even more useful because of you needing to use new dps for new boss mechanics. And the regiins weapons/artifacts itself highly point to hp scaling/healing. It is a bet of course which has still 25% ratio of a loss. But she still will be good for freeze and blooms anyway.

They are not actually forcing us to use those characters, it is said that we'll be able to use characters that do not have the mechanics, just it will take us more time to kill some new enemies. I.e. we'll still be doing damage to those enemies with older characters. What is yet to be known is whether older characters will also have a way to obtain these "properties". I'd prefer to have a way to get these powers for older characters through a mechanism similar to changing element using Statue of the 7, but it looks like it is not going to be like that.
Ah yes, I have Wanderer, no interest in Kokomi, C6 Rosaria and C6 Yanfei. Im not risking this for Faruzan C1... especially since last time on Wanderer banner I got her 0 times in 75 pulls lol
I have about 180 pulls, meed to get 5 Faruzans and Kokomi. Don't really care about 4.0, but there are a few characters that i want in Fontaine. Hoping to save some wishes.
If the new mechanic will force me to use fontaine characters I might just quit this game. Especially since I really didn't like almost any of them from the trailer. Pretty yaikes to me.
it is dissapointing that they wouldnt become more lenient rather more aggressive with new pulls, my account has so many options that feeling forced to pull new characters outside of archons and harbingers at this point is ridiculous
@@caseyimiller Exactly 😮💨 I'm on a slightly different boat because I'm relatively new player (since 2.8) so I am still catching up with wishing for 5* I really like and still don't have; right now I'll be pulling for Kokonut so I'll be primoless right before 4.0 drops. I liked a few characters, and there will be more later on, I'm sure... and maybeee it won't be as bad as it sounds, but if it is... it's just too greedy. People already freaked out with 3.7 abbyss and rather harsh elemental checks and very specific team setups for that, if you add another layer of checks on top of that... 😬It's kinda weird to me because it's very character-appeal driven game, but the further we go the more it feels like they're really treated like "units", where you need to pull for very specific requirenments. Liking or not liking characters aside, securing guarantees for chars with those 2 different forces (I don't remember the names oops) is already a little much, especially if we were to deal with enemies needing those debuffs at the beggining of the region. Time will tell I guess 🥲in worst case scenario I can just skip fantasy France and finally 100% explore Sumeru lmao
@@kongcrit I already am, but I still feel like I'm forced to keep rushing because I don't want to be spoiled for new regions.Also if this new mechanic will be super on the nose, it will be hard to enjoy the story if you can't progress through it or you're forced to constantly change teams to just progress throught the new region. My thoughts a Wanderer haver and enjoyer (my favorite unit). I currently have a top 1% Wanderer build (top 215 according to the Akasha site), stats being 1869 ATK (want to get this higher but I use Benny so I don't care too much), 83% crit rate, 217% crit damage, 121% ER, 61% Anemo dmg ofc, 4pc Desert Pavilion Chronicle. This isn't a flex, it's just to state how much I've invested into him and how much I love the little fella. As you can see, I've invested quite a bit in him. He's C0, and has his signature weapon at R0 (I don't care if it's optimal or not, it's his sig. weapon so he deserves it lol). So, when it comes to how competitive he is, for Abyss for example... He's good, and I've used him, but in the last few Abyss cycles where you need LOTS of different elements to break shields, he doesn't exactly shine. Even then, by using teams both with and without Faruzan, I've managed to clear the Abyss with all stars (the current one, last one was hell for him). First chamber was kinda rough, but replacing Faruzan with Yelan made it possible ( to destroy Lector Pyro shield without losing too much dmg). Speaking of the Devil, Faruzan. She's a blessing and a curse for him. In most dedicated Wanderer teams, you wanna have her to make him shine as a hypercarry. The thing is, without her C6, she's hell itself. Her energy requirements are through the goddamn roof. I have her with fav, good crit rate, 280 ER, and she SOMEHOW, sometimes, does NOT get her burst back. She's C2, which is the problem. That also means I need to charge attack, which hurt's Wanderer's time. If I get her to C6, my Wanderer will be able to easily beat content. So, if you want to use him as a hypercarry, and not in taser teams with Fischl, Beidou, XQ, you need to be aware of this - Faruzan can be a blessing and a curse for him depending on cons. Other than that, he's extremely fun to play and pretty satisfying! He's doing consistently over 60K+ charged attacks, and 40-50K+ normals with my investment, and it feels good. The main thing holding him back is being Anemo kinda, and Faruzan. In all honesty, I do agree he's a TINY BIT underwhelming, but because he was SCARAMOUCHE, a major antagonist and member of the Fatui. I was hoping he'd be absolutely busted, at least Raiden levels of power. However, I still love him and use him, he's really fun, versatile, and powerful regardless. I will be pulling in hopes of getting his constellations and more of Faruzan's. I want to get him to C6 someday, as with each constellation he gets, he becomes more and more fun and powerful. Getting to C6 allows him to fully take advantage of Faruzan's burst, being able to Nuke with his burst, and get more stats via Ascension passive. He currently has one of the fastest times for clearing content at C6, at least according IWTL's testing. Sorry for the long rant! What can I say? I just love the little guy. If you love him as much as I do (or maybe a little less if you're emotionally stable), he's a really good pull that you'll enjoy!
Really hate what they did with Wanderer’s power level too. Tied it to a unit that needs to be C6 for him to catch up to the other hyper carries. Got C4 Faruzan last time and even then she struggles with er at 303%. I’m better off using other units instead of her in abyss. Like you said the last few abysses were also bad for him and I’m only using him in the overworld rn. All in all a very fun unit that’s held back by mhy’s scumminess. Won’t get Faru’s last cons for a long time either because I have a guarantee and don’t need Kokomi :/
You should level Mona, enemies cant hit you if they are frozen or dead and Mona's Omen debuffs enemies in +60% dmg taken so yea, she makes up for the lack of heal by helping your freeze team deleting enemies.
@@jonnevitu4979 while she will increase the dmg id say healing is more valuable in most cases, for me even without mona my ayaka overkills most non boss enemies in abyss so mona wouldnt even make a difference. also kokomis hydro application lasts a lot longer and has a bigger aoe if im not mistaken
@@pashugamez I mean you don't need healing if the enemy is frozen (or dead), but Kokomi's hydro app lasting longer can be better for some freeze rotations with Ayaka, would say Mona is just better in Ganyu freeze though.
I really like Kokomi as a unit. She is very comfy. I use her way too much. She is in almost every team of mine and is the most used unit of mine in domains and probably in the open world too. But I cannot recommend her right new when the hydro archon is not too far.
@@exonvfx Hydro archon is not the only unit coming. There could be other units who are very good too. Not to mention Raiden rerun is coming and some people would also want her. Some would even want to go for raiden cons or furina cons.

That's the problem with Dehya for example, you can externaly buff her without making other characters get the buff or being absurdly specific. Also Hoyo can't balance for dear life so I'd rather they leave her alone, she works and I'm happy with her, her cons are ust for on field DPS Kokomi and I for once feel grateful that so many units don't need constellations.
I feel like you're just kind of doing a disservice to yourself if you have Nilou and/or Nahida (basically if you play Bloom/Hyperbloom teams in general) or if you play Freeze Teams and choose to skip Kokomi though.
Thank you so much to the editor for putting timestamp and warning for leaks. Everytime i want to watch zajef, i have to be very careful everytime he mentions leaked content. I know he is supposed to theorycraft ahead of the current patch, but sometimes it is just an unexpected leak during a non leak video title that catches me off guard.
Btw regarding the Fontaine mechanic your not actually forced to use Fontaine characters to counter it, elemental reactions also work albeit they don't do it instantly like Fontaine characters can, however right now this isn't really a big deal as the mechanic itself isn't really too impactful yet, the worst it does is give enemies res and atk%, however this is pretty rare and appears in floor 9 of abyss, the more common effects are very ignorable, mostly stuff like the robots getting elemental atks, the boss getting a very weak Cryo shield and the floating enemies getting a dendro or geo shield that doesn't actually block dmg apparently but when they have it they get an ultimate atk, basically right now it's not too much of an issue and shouldn't be enough to force anyone into being tempted to pull for 4.0 characters just to counter it.
I’ve been saving for kokomi for quite a while, so I feel comfortable pulling for her while still having primos for 4.0. 60 pity and 190 pulls, at the very worst, leaves me on soft pity (and 50/50) after getting her
What makes me wonder is that I have not heard of any new hydro characters in Fontaine other than the hydro archon, and it may turn out that Kokomi's value is going to remain high later. I am becoming more and more inclined to pulling for her to replace Barbara in my Nilou team. Yet, I am not sure if Barbara is not enough.
It always amuses me when Zajef goes "the Wanderer is pretty mid" and then briefly mentions c6 Faruzan, like "unless you have c6 Faruzan, then, yeah, he's pretty good"

If a unit needs another unit that can take an unspecified number of pulls to obtain then yeah the unit is bad relatively to what you can get out of some C0s. If Faruzan wasn't just so incomplete at base it'd be a different discussion, sure.
@@HigakiRinneOr if Faruzan would be easier to get like through the shop. And we are at a Point were Genshin has so much 4* that getting 4* is significantly harder than in 1.0 or 2.0. Rate ups for 4* take longer, losing an 4* 50/50 and getting a good character is harder and in the standard banner it's harder too of course. Like this is why 4* cons are such a problem right now while back in the old days 1.0 -2.0 it was easier because there were less 4*.

I don't actually like Yanfei's C6 since its attack animation is fairly long while dash cancelling helps, that just makes her stamina consumption higher her rotation just becomes awkward
Just choose the banners where both weapons are good. Like Homa + Aqua. Even if you get wrong one soneone will use it. Like i got aqua there which i don't need but recently Tignari came so now he is roaming around with omega damage.
This is the first banner that is tempting me to buy primos if I don't get 5 faruzan copies in the 180 pulls on planning on using... I know the odds are low, but it would be nice, if I only get a copy or two in all those pulls though I'm just going to save for Fontaine.
I've got 12 Xingqius on Hu Tao banner while going for c1. My poor Beidou remained c4 and Ning only c3 😂 I just got the luck for water boy. So don't give up hope, it is possible!

@@Gazeta2nd off-field Kokomi has negligible damage (which is AoE), and EM bloom Kokomi deals negative personal damage while reaction damage/blooms are obviously AoE. So “single-target damage” issue obviously is applicable only for on-field Kokomi, who should run OHC.

Unfortunately my Rosaria and Yanfei are C6. My Faruzan is C4, but I hate wishing for 4 stars even though I really want her C6. I'm otherwise non-plussed about either 5 star. I have Wanderer already and I use him a lot, but not in Abyss. I do not have Kokomi. I mean maybe a Con would help my overworld uses for Wanderer and might make him more usable in Abyss. Then again Kokomi might be nice to have a real healer? Idk I've done fine without one. My Faruzan ran 243% ER with R5 Fav on Exile before she was C4 and did more than fine. 260% is a high estimation imo.

Anyway, from the recent videos, I understand that Kokomi is a character for freeze teams (usually Ayaka/Shenhe/Kazuha/Kokomi) or Nilou. I bench Wanderer, so my C4 Faruzan is also in the waiting room, but I am also interested in whether I should or not pull for Kokomi, need more videos from people who are in the same situation (Jello Impact is pulling for her, and I will be definitely waiting for his review/feedback on how it feels to replace Barbara with Kokomi in the Nilou's team). If I get two Faruzan's constellations, I will build my C0 Wanderer.
@@stribijev I have Yaoyao, I won't use her cause she plays weird, and I dislike really cutesy stuff. Conversely I have Qiqi and have used her, she's fine. I use Kuki in Hyperbloom. She's fine. I do have Bennett but he's very not good at dealing with Corruption. I have Barbs but she's too upbeat for me. She'd be great IRL, but in a game with static personalities it's grating. I think this Abyss will be fine with no healers still. I did end up wishing on Wanderer's banner and after 40 wishes my C4 Faruzan became C6 and I'm at 51 pity now. So it's all good.

i truly don't understand the xiao vs wanderer conversation, the only thing they have similar is the element, we have others 5 anemo so i don't understand why people fight over those 2 and only those 2, if you say hu tao is better than xiao, xiao players mald but they are mosty ok, but if you say you like wanderer over xiao they want to kill you wtf is up with that ????? 2 anemo hypercarries that use almost the same team comps in almost every situation that also do similar enough dmg at c0 (and both of them could be considered edgy, tho they kind of appeal to different people in some way lol), it's just the Noelle vs Itto thing all over again, where both characters have enough differences but their main focus for the argument is the same at the end, to do dmg, and the fact that one of them will do more dmg, even if just slightly, will always make the other mains mad even tho their characters have their own advantages (Like Noelle being a 4*/Fulfilling 3 roles in one and Wanderer having amazing mobility) I've seen some people compare Wanderer and Kazuha (even without Kazuha's c6), and that's honestly even more stupid than the Xiao vs Wanderer argument since they don't even share the same roles lol You can also see arguments like Itto vs Xiao vs Wanderer because they share their place as Hypercarries that aren't exactly meta but are good enough, maybe that can help you understand why people argue about them xd Xiao mains are also more okay if you compare Xiao with someone like Hu Tao because they know the kind of dmg that the other character can do, with Wanderer it's harder to tell
The are both hypercarrys. Both want to use faruzan. Both want to use bennet. They have the same function on a team, you can't use xiao and wanderer in a optimal team, so is important to use the best.
A fail to see how a unit that needs absurd amount of ER and/or multiple favonius procs at C0 (and at least until C4, which alleviates a bit her ER problem) isn't classified as a one of the worst pj in the game.

Consider this guys. Every c6 is one free wish. It is a little wasteful but in the end you actually save wishes for the future. It is copious a bit but not a tragedy.

C1/C2 on wanderer would actually be the biggest increase, a 10% atk speed increase is bigger than it sounds, and the C2 makes his burst actually worth using and being a sizeable amount of his damage per rotation.
HIs weapon isn't even that good on him since it buffs his NA while his CA has way better scaling and AOE, and that his most optimal playstyle is CA spam. If you can get both his C1 and weapon then I guess changing to NA spam playstyle could be stronger but if you've to choose only one then C1 is more worth it. Plus, the doughnut is on the banner too lol.
@@owoflux6025 iirc, from zajef's calcs, the dmg difference is so small that it's fine to use CA spam all the time for all practical purposes. It's even stronger if you can perform the max amount of CA possible by having perfect timing. NA gets better with ATK SPD buffs though.
I main kokomi, so i already tried and failed pulling for her signature twice... at 31 pity and welkin moon getting me to like 1 5star hard pity... So not sure I'll even get it... Last 5star was Skyward tho but still...
"Each scarlet seal decreases Yanfei's stamina consumption" - why do you say it working on dashes/sprinting is a bug? I always thought it is working as expected. Edit, oh, I see, you thought C1 is the only place where it says seals decrease stamina consumption, and it only mentions her Charged attacks. Her seals description is in her Normal attack talent, that is where it says all stamina consumption is decreased, not only CA.
I pulled c1 Wanderer and was not super sure about him. I do not regret it at all. Holy shit he has changed everything. If you have been playing for years then he can still be a game changer. For a newer player I would be more hesitant to recommend him because of high gear requirements. I have good gear without needing to farm any gear from his domain and just used 2p 2pc with Lost Prayers. With a c6 Faruzan he is probably one of my most powerful characters even comparing to c2 Raiden with c6 Sara team. I managed to nearly max score every Feast of Departed Warriors boss encounter with Wanderer teams. Something that even whales had trouble with. You can see a video on my channel that I recorded. I killed them with plenty of time left so I could probably max score it if I tried hard enough. On paper he is not as strong as other dps characters but the fact that he can maintain a constant stream of damage with a smooth rotation without interruption makes him very good. Wanderer does not care about multi wave or having to setup up debuffs. His strength is being very flexible in combat. He can fight spread apart enemies, grouped enemies, super mobile enemies, flying enemies, and single target enemies. His rotations are fast and smooth too and his overworld exploration is just unrivaled. I think he is better than Xiao because of this. Xiao has clear weaknesses but Wanderer can basically fight anything except anemo immune enemies. He is even a decent shield breaker because his charge attacks cost no stamina and has no ICD. A word of warning is that as a hyper carry he demands good gear but your reward for this is a versatile hypercarry. At lower investment he just does not work. Do not pull him if you do not have R5 Dodoco Tales, or a 5 star dps catalyst, or an R5 Widsith, or an R5 Solar Pearl. Wanderer is still usable without c6 Faruzan but he would need to use a dps VV set on something like a Tazer team.
Wanderer litteraly has the highest dpr at c0 out of any other c0 hypercarry what is Zajef smoking. All you need is that c6 faru and he’s the best. (Although getting her can be a pain lol)
You are aware that it typically takes 250+ pulls to get a certain C6 4 star? Unless you previously had her for free, in which case getting a C2 limited five-star rating is more likely to happen. Better save your pulls for another five star.

Probably because if you want Xiao or Wanderer, that means you're looking for a full on anemo dps that's not reliant on 4pc VV set. He's not going to tell you to just make Sucrose a anemo dmg dps instead because she's super valuable as a EM build VV user holding TTDS or Sac Frag.
Personally I have a anemo dmg dealer Sucrose built on my 2nd account and it's fun, but I don't have a C6 Faruzan to try out budget Wanderer playstyle.

Yanfei's stamina consumption is literally not a bug, her talent description says that scarlet seals decrease stamina consumption. Not specifically charged attack stamina consumption, all stamina consumption.
The banner has Frauzan, so I'll definitely be pulling for Kokomi.

I always assumed the stamina consumption thing with Yanfei was just a feature of her kit? It works the same with climbing as well and her kit does say that it reduces stamina consumption and not specifically charged attack stamina consumption (which is the case with ningguang), so it's very likely actually just a way her kit works
i think so too. it makes too much sense, shes very energy hungry, i dont think id main her if it was that difficult.
I just hope that no hoyo employee just so happen to watch this video so Yanfei's intended mechanic would not be 'fixed'
As a Wanderer main, I much prefer using his normal attacks to charged. Better tracking range and "feel". Plus they have build in aoe damage that doesn't push apart enemies. I have to disagree with Zajef here

honestly i hope the pneuma/oustia mechanic isnt that obligatory as it will be a significant downgrade to the game which has been so great with its powercreep aspect.

its the reason why i dropped tower of fantasy not too far into it. when every character becomes a must pull cause a previous one gets powercreeped so hard and the enemies and bosses become balanced around these new characters, to the point that the previous ones become inviable is disgusting. the level of greed becomes disgusting.
It's not. PN/OU basically works like those buffing stone things. You can pull the buff off enemies using the fancy Fontaine mechanic... or you can just blow the buff-rock up with blunt damage or something.
Do we know how it will work? for all we know it may be like the serpent knights.
Or knowing hoyo they'll make it work like having 2 characters of the same element, it will not make hard enemies easy, it'll make some easy enemies braindead.
Well, no matter what, something was going to shake up the META a bit. It just isn't in Hoyoverse's best interest for us to decided "Our current teams are good enough, so no need to pull anymore." But worth noting that this wouldn't be power creep. You could still use your existing characters just fine. The difference is you'll need to adjust the team you use them in to fit in one of the newer characters. So, basically, it lets Hoyoverse muck up the META a bit, while encouraging us to pull, but without needing to add powercreep to accomplish that.
Though I will say I'm not a fan of these type of mechanics. It tends to result in characters that are okay in their area, but are a bit more lackluster outside of it.
@@hedgeyes6411 as we know those rocks buff enemies a lot, if its like that but worse. we looking at dmg mitigation on the enemy part that would be ridiculous levels that would force you to slot in that 1 character that doesn't really fit your team JUST to pull that buff from the enemy or having to craft teams around that one character. lynette is at least anemo, so just slap that vv on her and she is not complete dead weight, but HMC is looking preeeeety shite for now. i am not thinking overworld.... overworld if enemies be tankier who cares... but abyss is another story entirely.

Genshin was never about pull to win but pull to simp. To me it worked perfectly that way, i like ayaka, i can keep using ayaka and not having to pull a new cryo character every region.
At lease lynette is ok, since she is anemo, she can fit in many teams... but HMC is looking... SO bad.... and he is the only "free" pneuma character for 4.0 at which i would be surprise that mihoyo doesnt just slap the mechanic in instantly the first abyss it can.
I am only pulling for Wanderer because of how easy he makes collecting crystalflies are. There is no concrete power creep in Genshin (yet), but there is definitely mobility creep.
The only reason I pulled Wanderer mainly for farming/exploration and never gonna use him in SA even though I have a built c4 Faruzan which I use with my mid Xiao when I feel like using them. Wanderer just makes farming and traveling the easiest.
To me it came to a point where i need to play him in any mode that has even a little bit of mobility (Like the previous event with custom maps) because almost any other character aside from Yelan just doesn't feel as good anymore lol
And if I'm not using him in Overworld for some reason then I need to at least use Yelan to feel good while exploring, unless it's just minor exploring after doing some dailies with exp teams
Both of them (And also Sayu a little bit) really made me expect a lot for units with good overworld exploration instead of just dmg and i think that's pretty nice (Tho Wanderer has good dmg in overworld and Yelan is Yelan so no wonder it seems like I'm not picky with it xd)

I would argue that Faruzan is the biggest indicator of Mihoyo’s greed because she feels like the worst of the niche 4 star buffers, and feels comfortable to use at c4 and higher (arguably c6 only). Plus hyper Wanderer just doesn’t hit as hard without her buffs. It feels like night and day without her.
I really hope they make the hydro archon like Nahida where their dps isn’t significantly different without the niche buffer.
I think all the niche buffers are pretty lackluster, design-wise. Mika doesn't give physical what it wants/needs. He's the worst one. Sara is clunky and feels the worst without cons, and also pretty pointless now that dendro exists. Why run her over Nahida or getting some role compression from a dendro healer? Faruzan's issues are discussed in this video. And that leaves Gorou, who is NOT a geo buffer, but instead, a geo+def buffer, with the characters really wanting both of those traits. Which is fine when a geo team means Itto, but, well, what happens if geo is ever not as neglected as it is currently? Oh, and I guess there's Shenhe as well, but she's the 4th slot character for a cryo team, because Kaz takes priority, and you'll probably want a hydro for freeze, which usually means Kokomi, and then you've got your five star DPS... so three other featured banner five stars to pick up before her. Basically, only something for people who really love freeze teams to go for.

I think that a lot of the new 4 stars are what they intended the 4 stars to be, not the hyper op kind that we get at 1.0, 4 stars in other games are meant to have constellation to be viable in other gacha. I think genshin only player were just conditioned to expect all 4 stars to be the same as the 1.0 4 stars

I also think they're pretty boring tbh, yeah they're clunky, niche and their personal dmg is often low or nonexistent and I dislike most new characters because of that, but what sucks the most is them being locked to specific teams or 5 stars, I kinda want them to somewhat stand on their own or have the option to do some dmg instead of being an skill/burst bot, when I pull for characters I like, I would like to at least see them in battle for more than 1 second. We also need to remember that 3.0 having Tighnari as the new 5*, which was vocalized heavily to be going to Standard, hurt 3.0 a lot more then Kazuha being 2.8. Yes, Tighnari is amazing, but him being a future Standard Character effected his pulls significantly. If he wasn't going to Standard, he would have garnered much more pulls.
Tighnari's sales were equal to Kaz in 2.8 though plus he is a standard banner and ran with a character having bad weapon (Zhongli)

They also started Sumeru with a standard banner 5 star, and an underwhelming Cyno and super niche Nilou. I don't think Kazuha lost them any money, and not giving any character for people to roll on for two patches definitely isn't going to make them money.
This is actually the first month since I started playing (shortly before Inazuma release) where I'm not able to buy the 5 monthly pulls from the stardust shop. They haven't released a banner that made me want to go all in since Nahida in 3.2 so my stardust is all gone.
The upside is I got enough pulls saved to get the first couple of Fontaine units though.

Dude, don't recommend Lost Prayer for wanderer. I know it seems better than the bell for charge attacks, but it just isn't. Even at full refinement it just barely edges out the average damage dealt by widsith.
I really want Kokomi so I can finally have my hyper-invested Ayaka freeze team, but yeah, Fontaine is right around the corner. I want as many primos as possible going in.
I'd ALWAYS go for Wanderer for the overworld and as long as there are no mounts in the game, he is NEVER leaving my overworld teams. Trust me, he is WAY better than Yelan, Sayu and whatever for overworld exploration.

yeah, as someone with yelan, wanderer is good even if just flying on land. he can fly over bodies of water as well, and scale buildings that are not very tall but have a pesky overhang that blocks you from climbing to the top properly, something kazuha might have trouble with.
Yanfei actually pairs really well with Wanderer because hats.
I use Yanfei occasionally; once a week for the wanderer boss fight to hit the turrets before he goes down the last time. And occasionally for events with the thunder manifestation or other hard to hit bosses
honestly wanderer is SO good in the open world that it is very hard to not use him once you've tried him.
-99% of the time you're not doing abyss, you're either doing dailies, or exploring the map.
-his traversal has almost no cooldown, easily the best traversal in complicated terrain.
-his damage is high enough to breeze any enemy camp with one skill use
-he's not burst reliable at all
-he can run any type of support if you need puzzle solving or specific enemy farming (like mushrooms)
from normal attack supports like yun jin to driver supports like beidou/XQ, to off field dps like fischl.
everything fits him.
EXAMPLES OF HOW BROKEN HE IS:
-have you ever done a samurai farming route? inazuma is filled with island to island traversal/climbing.
well, wanderer pretty much reduces the time by at least half. now apply it to fungi too, since sumeru is also filled with massive gaps in terrain between trees and desert ruins.
-have you ever cringed at how far apart the mushrooms spawn in the abyss's 9-10? well, just stand in the center of the room with a bennett burst and procceed to mash normals away and everything's dead in one skill use. similar to yoimiya, but with actual aoe and more range... and don't tell me how "who cares about abyss 9-10" it's the most tedious part of every reset.
and he's one of the best neutral shield breakers in the game as well, you can put him vs any abyss shield and his CA spam will do a considerable amount of break, and he's flexible enough that you can run any team archetype and he will at worst be a sucrose sidegrade.

side note even at c1 yelan only goes even with his speed despite many videos "proving it wrong" and also he is really good at climbing since every time there is a place to stand you can use your skill to go up with out stamina that also regenerates stamina giving you basically infinte climbing as long as there is a place to stand

heck he's even the best at gliding to a lower terrain, since you can keep momentum from your skill into your free fall to fall in a small arc (as long as you were moving and not dashing when his alternate stamina runs out)

I play on-field taser Kokomi occasionally, used to main it before Dendro, and while the Donut /is/ her best weapon in that comp R5 Prototype Amber isn't much worse. Even in it's 'niche' it's hard to recommend it.

To be honest I actually would think the best partner would be Baizhu if its a significant teamwide hp drain. Kokomi would need to be on field for full team heals whereas Baizhu would be able to sustain from off-field using his Es.

The way You were explaining Faruzan's ER requirements was amazing. I tried replicating the Chart that You made just from memory and logic, and it worked so well. Then I tried the same for My Raiden National, which had minor ER issues with Xiangling and Xingqiu. The calculation there was much harder because of Xingqiu C6 (does the Energy from it get affected by ER or is flat) and Raiden Burst (which has its own complications but was a bit easier to understand because of recourses available online). It would be nice if You explained all such ER and Energy sources and where to add them in the calculation and how other forms of energy works (like white particles and orbs and if You should consider it for worst case ER calculation).

I like that he says that she's "passable" when she can easily do CA's that hit roughly as hard as Hu Taos. I mean, in a vape team I hit like 100k CA's on Yanfei. Not bad for a "measly four star". Kind of weird since this is the guy who stans hard AGAINST any five star units and stans SO HARD for NOT spending a lot of money. You'd think he'd shit on Hu Tao and say how bad she is and how GOOD Yanfei is. Ah well.

When she has 3 Pyro carries who all perform better than her in a role that isn't often needed to begin with since Xingqui can also be used in hyperbloom teams and Xiangling is more than enough pyro for any account it makes sense why Yanfei is as lackluster as she is. Would appreciate it if you stopped spreading misinfo, she can indeed be fun but she's 100% outclassed.

She's way easier to play since her normal, charged and elemental skill attacks are auto-aimed. She has one of the best 4* star constellations at C2 for a DPS, which increases her crit rate by 20% when the life of the enemy is below 50%.
You don't like to play her, that's okay.
But that doesn't mean she's bad, not at all, especially for new players.
Mid artifacts with R5 Twin Nephrite and she can easily carry your team at the beginning of the game.

Althou from 50% (her) crit rate you get only 7.5% crit rate for team for 10 seconds, it is something and for sure is useful
I consider Wanderer one of the 5 star characters with the highest pull value, provided someone is willing to invest in him a lot and aim to Faruzan C6 in the long term (which is tide to his banner), taking a little risk in case of very bad luck (it sucks that there is no way to have copies of specific 4 star characters guaranteed). Luckily, he has good early constellations, and this makes chasing Faruzan C6 easier.
Aside from the great value he provides when travelling and exploring (I won’t talk about that, because other people did, and Wanderer’s value from this point of view is already widely known), that alone makes him have a good pull value, he is the most efficient, comfortable, reliable and consistent damage dealer. So, when investing in him enough, we get a character who can carry in almost every possible Abyss line-up (with enemies immune to Anemo being the only hard counter to his teams).
All of Wanderer’s attacks have some AoE (and his teams have great compatibility with other Anemo characters used for grouping the enemies with great efficiency, like Venti and Kazuha). He can attack all the time from a distance and at a rapid pace, and his Normal Attacks have fast projectiles with good tracking (this, aside from the obvious advantage against mobile enemies, also make him able to easily clear encounters with groups of enemies and multiple waves, in less time that is necessary, even when we cannot slot someone for grouping the enemies in his teams). He can enter in his high damaging stance without needing energy and on a very short cooldown. He can use Bennet without having to worry about having to leave his circle if the enemy moves a little. He has great mobility and doesn’t have to worry about Stamina, ever.
Being an Anemo damage dealer also means not relying on reactions for dealing damage, which can be a pro that makes the damage dealer compatible with a wider variety of encounters. Some enemies have their own elemental aura that interferes with reactions, Wanderer doesn’t care. The enemy has good mobility or flies, Wanderer doesn’t care.
Being able to be a hypercarry, also means that Wanderer can have almost all of the team’s damage on his shoulders, this makes the team damage very receptive to the investment we put on him. This is great if someone is willing to invest a lot on him. This also means that his support characters can be focused on energy efficiency, with higher than needed ER, with a negligible difference of team damage, which is great when the damage dealer can deal elemental damage all the time, has a low cooldown, high damaging stance, and doesn’t need energy to use it.
Wanderer has great compatibility with most shielders, most support characters and off-field damage dealers, of any swirl-able element. They can help with shield breaking and allow his teams to be extremely adaptable. This also makes him a very future proof character, with teams potentially evolving and allowing him to better adapt to future content.
Wanderer is very vulnerable to interruption while in flight, but he can still be used without a shielder for speed-runs, relying on his A4 procs for evading attacks. What’s more important, though, is that usually is better to just slot a shielder, and his teams lose an insignificant amount of DPS for doing that.
When using a shielder, Wanderer can use the A4 procs offensively for dash cancels, this can increase his damage per rotation significantly, as performing dash cancels correctly generally doesn’t reduce the amount of Normal/Charged Attacks he is able to perform every rotation, the A4 projectiles are potentially almost entirely extra damage per rotation, and they get better at C1, to the point that in single target the damage difference between using Yun Jin C6/Jean C4, or using Layla C6/Thoma C6, is negligible.
Wanderer isn’t even reliant on Zhongli at all.
Thoma C6 is a little better for team damage, he is a great upgrade for the team’s energy efficiency (the Pyro particles helps lowering significantly Bennet’s ER needs, and he doesn’t have any energy issue at C4+), his shield has 100% uptime and can be strengthened/refreshed/recreated from off-field with Wanderer’s Normal Attacks. Pyro Resonance and the Normal/Charged Attack DMG Bonus cannot be disabled and don’t have a range limit, unlike Zhongli’s RES shred.
Layla C6 as a shielder has the highest ceiling when it comes to team damage, but the encounter doesn’t always allow to absorb both Cryo and Pyro reliably with Wanderer’s Skill (enemies with their own elemental aura obviously interfere with the possibility of choosing the second element for Wanderer’s A1).
Layla also allows Bennet to use Freedom Sworn, without stealing any time after activating Bennet’s buffs, with this setup it is really easy and consistent in single target, and with it she naturally funnels Favonius’ particles to Bennet: ua-cam.com/video/xzAUJ_YgPeM/v-deo.htmlsi=lu4k7agORh-U3dOk. With this setup, Wanderer remains without a shield for a moment before landing, but it is still much better than having no shield at all. Usually, I prefer to just use Thoma C6 as Wanderer’s shielder, despite the lower team damage, for the comfort and the consistency, but Layla is great nonetheless.
Written setup for the team with Layla (explained): Faruzan > Layla Q and E (being both active, extra Night Stars are generated by Q) > Bennet E (his E removes the Cryo aura, and takes the number of Night Stars from 2 to 4, this causes them to be fired) > Bennet Q (delayed by about 0.5 seconds to allow the first Shooting Star to reach the enemy, applying the Cryo aura) which removes the Cryo aura again (it also activates Freedom Sworn’s passive if using it) > Scaramouche CA (while he performs the Charged Attack, Layla’s Burst applies Cryo to the enemy, and Bennet’s Burst applies Pyro to our character) > Scaramouche E (gets both Cryo and Pyro buff).
A little tip for increasing the odds of activating Favonius passive with Layla: instead of Q E, you can do Q N1 E. The N1, not only counts as an extra hit for Favonius’ passive, but also makes Layla do a step forward, making much easier for her to hit the enemy with his E (that has a very small range on the initial hit).
Wanderer greatly raised my standards about how efficient the characters I pull for need to be. I have him at C1 with Faruzan C6. So, I’m just hoarding Primogems for future great characters, and if there aren’t enough of them to spend my Primogems I can get a great upgrade for Wanderer with his C2.
I completely disagree with the comments about Kokomi. I have almost all of the characters in the game, save a couple from Inazuma I have yet to collect (Ayato, please come home bb). But having played pretty much every healer in the game outside of Yaoyao, Kokomi still stands out as one of the strongest healers in the game. Her healing scales off her max HP so unlike a character like Kuki you aren't constantly balancing your health bar. And unlike Baizhu, her purpose is solely healing and is not split into shield and heal. She can do considerable single target dmg and has 100% uptime on her skill if executed correctly with enough ER, enabling constant AOE hydro application. And if you're concerned about damage, her constellations can buff her damage considerably. The only other healer I'd say stacks up against her would be Bennett and even he has horrific Pyro application. Yaoyao looks to be an amazing 4 star Dendro healer contender though, and I'm curious to see how powerful she actually is when fully built. Just my opinions though.
I agree, she’s the best choice for freeze and nilou even if you have all the characters. Shes versatile and can function well in other teams too
It have a good reason to said it. I have kokomi from i start playing (2 years ago) and i use to use her in every team, right now i still user her in blooms, and freeze teams, but not in every team like before.
I now use more ayato, and xingchiu, is not that she can't be use in other teams, is that are better options is some other teams like taser, or vape.
She's the only 5* hydro healer it's just stupid to spend on her right before the hydro region itself

If anything i'd bet on 75% chance that Kokomi will remain as good if not even more useful because of you needing to use new dps for new boss mechanics. And the regiins weapons/artifacts itself highly point to hp scaling/healing.
It is a bet of course which has still 25% ratio of a loss. But she still will be good for freeze and blooms anyway.

They are not actually forcing us to use those characters, it is said that we'll be able to use characters that do not have the mechanics, just it will take us more time to kill some new enemies. I.e. we'll still be doing damage to those enemies with older characters. What is yet to be known is whether older characters will also have a way to obtain these "properties". I'd prefer to have a way to get these powers for older characters through a mechanism similar to changing element using Statue of the 7, but it looks like it is not going to be like that.

I liked a few characters, and there will be more later on, I'm sure... and maybeee it won't be as bad as it sounds, but if it is... it's just too greedy. People already freaked out with 3.7 abbyss and rather harsh elemental checks and very specific team setups for that, if you add another layer of checks on top of that... 😬It's kinda weird to me because it's very character-appeal driven game, but the further we go the more it feels like they're really treated like "units", where you need to pull for very specific requirenments. Liking or not liking characters aside, securing guarantees for chars with those 2 different forces (I don't remember the names oops) is already a little much, especially if we were to deal with enemies needing those debuffs at the beggining of the region. My thoughts a Wanderer haver and enjoyer (my favorite unit).
I currently have a top 1% Wanderer build (top 215 according to the Akasha site), stats being 1869 ATK (want to get this higher but I use Benny so I don't care too much), 83% crit rate, 217% crit damage, 121% ER, 61% Anemo dmg ofc, 4pc Desert Pavilion Chronicle.
This isn't a flex, it's just to state how much I've invested into him and how much I love the little fella. As you can see, I've invested quite a bit in him. He's C0, and has his signature weapon at R0 (I don't care if it's optimal or not, it's his sig. weapon so he deserves it lol).
So, when it comes to how competitive he is, for Abyss for example... He's good, and I've used him, but in the last few Abyss cycles where you need LOTS of different elements to break shields, he doesn't exactly shine. Even then, by using teams both with and without Faruzan, I've managed to clear the Abyss with all stars (the current one, last one was hell for him). First chamber was kinda rough, but replacing Faruzan with Yelan made it possible ( to destroy Lector Pyro shield without losing too much dmg).
Speaking of the Devil, Faruzan. She's a blessing and a curse for him. In most dedicated Wanderer teams, you wanna have her to make him shine as a hypercarry. The thing is, without her C6, she's hell itself. Her energy requirements are through the goddamn roof. I have her with fav, good crit rate, 280 ER, and she SOMEHOW, sometimes, does NOT get her burst back. She's C2, which is the problem. That also means I need to charge attack, which hurt's Wanderer's time. If I get her to C6, my Wanderer will be able to easily beat content.
So, if you want to use him as a hypercarry, and not in taser teams with Fischl, Beidou, XQ, you need to be aware of this - Faruzan can be a blessing and a curse for him depending on cons.
Other than that, he's extremely fun to play and pretty satisfying! He's doing consistently over 60K+ charged attacks, and 40-50K+ normals with my investment, and it feels good. The main thing holding him back is being Anemo kinda, and Faruzan.
In all honesty, I do agree he's a TINY BIT underwhelming, but because he was SCARAMOUCHE, a major antagonist and member of the Fatui. I was hoping he'd be absolutely busted, at least Raiden levels of power. However, I still love him and use him, he's really fun, versatile, and powerful regardless.
I will be pulling in hopes of getting his constellations and more of Faruzan's. I want to get him to C6 someday, as with each constellation he gets, he becomes more and more fun and powerful. Getting to C6 allows him to fully take advantage of Faruzan's burst, being able to Nuke with his burst, and get more stats via Ascension passive. He currently has one of the fastest times for clearing content at C6, at least according IWTL's testing.
Sorry for the long rant! What can I say? I just love the little guy. If you love him as much as I do (or maybe a little less if you're emotionally stable), he's a really good pull that you'll enjoy!
Really hate what they did with Wanderer’s power level too. Tied it to a unit that needs to be C6 for him to catch up to the other hyper carries. Got C4 Faruzan last time and even then she struggles with er at 303%.
I’m better off using other units instead of her in abyss. Like you said the last few abysses were also bad for him and I’m only using him in the overworld rn. All in all a very fun unit that’s held back by mhy’s scumminess. Won’t get Faru’s last cons for a long time either because I have a guarantee and don’t need Kokomi :/

You should level Mona, enemies cant hit you if they are frozen or dead and Mona's Omen debuffs enemies in +60% dmg taken so yea, she makes up for the lack of heal by helping your freeze team deleting enemies.
@@jonnevitu4979 while she will increase the dmg id say healing is more valuable in most cases, for me even without mona my ayaka overkills most non boss enemies in abyss so mona wouldnt even make a difference. also kokomis hydro application lasts a lot longer and has a bigger aoe if im not mistaken
@@pashugamez I mean you don't need healing if the enemy is frozen (or dead), but Kokomi's hydro app lasting longer can be better for some freeze rotations with Ayaka, would say Mona is just better in Ganyu freeze though.

I really like Kokomi as a unit. She is very comfy. I use her way too much. She is in almost every team of mine and is the most used unit of mine in domains and probably in the open world too. But I cannot recommend her right new when the hydro archon is not too far.
@@exonvfx Hydro archon is not the only unit coming. There could be other units who are very good too. Not to mention Raiden rerun is coming and some people would also want her. Some would even want to go for raiden cons or furina cons.

That's the problem with Dehya for example, you can externaly buff her without making other characters get the buff or being absurdly specific.
Also Hoyo can't balance for dear life so I'd rather they leave her alone, she works and I'm happy with her, her cons are ust for on field DPS Kokomi and I for once feel grateful that so many units don't need constellations.
I feel like you're just kind of doing a disservice to yourself if you have Nilou and/or Nahida (basically if you play Bloom/Hyperbloom teams in general) or if you play Freeze Teams and choose to skip Kokomi though.
I've been waiting to pull her for years and she's avoided me twice already so I'd still be pulling 🥸

Thank you so much to the editor for putting timestamp and warning for leaks. Everytime i want to watch zajef, i have to be very careful everytime he mentions leaked content. I know he is supposed to theorycraft ahead of the current patch, but sometimes it is just an unexpected leak during a non leak video title that catches me off guard.
Btw regarding the Fontaine mechanic your not actually forced to use Fontaine characters to counter it, elemental reactions also work albeit they don't do it instantly like Fontaine characters can, however right now this isn't really a big deal as the mechanic itself isn't really too impactful yet, the worst it does is give enemies res and atk%, however this is pretty rare and appears in floor 9 of abyss, the more common effects are very ignorable, mostly stuff like the robots getting elemental atks, the boss getting a very weak Cryo shield and the floating enemies getting a dendro or geo shield that doesn't actually block dmg apparently but when they have it they get an ultimate atk, basically right now it's not too much of an issue and shouldn't be enough to force anyone into being tempted to pull for 4.0 characters just to counter it.
I’ve been saving for kokomi for quite a while, so I feel comfortable pulling for her while still having primos for 4.0.

Hoping to win Kokomi as well as hope to get my last 2 Faruzan cons and 3 Rosaria cons.
What makes me wonder is that I have not heard of any new hydro characters in Fontaine other than the hydro archon, and it may turn out that Kokomi's value is going to remain high later. I am becoming more and more inclined to pulling for her to replace Barbara in my Nilou team. Yet, I am not sure if Barbara is not enough.
It always amuses me when Zajef goes "the Wanderer is pretty mid" and then briefly mentions c6 Faruzan, like "unless you have c6 Faruzan, then, yeah, he's pretty good"

If a unit needs another unit that can take an unspecified number of pulls to obtain then yeah the unit is bad relatively to what you can get out of some C0s. If Faruzan wasn't just so incomplete at base it'd be a different discussion, sure.

And we are at a Point were Genshin has so much 4* that getting 4* is significantly harder than in 1.0 or 2.0. Rate ups for 4* take longer, losing an 4* 50/50 and getting a good character is harder and in the standard banner it's harder too of course. Like this is why 4* cons are such a problem right now while back in the old days 1.0 -2.0 it was easier because there were less 4*.

So “single-target damage” issue obviously is applicable only for on-field Kokomi, who should run OHC.

Unfortunately my Rosaria and Yanfei are C6. My Faruzan is C4, but I hate wishing for 4 stars even though I really want her C6.
I'm otherwise non-plussed about either 5 star. I have Wanderer already and I use him a lot, but not in Abyss. I do not have Kokomi. I mean maybe a Con would help my overworld uses for Wanderer and might make him more usable in Abyss. Then again Kokomi might be nice to have a real healer? Idk I've done fine without one.
My Faruzan ran 243% ER with R5 Fav on Exile before she was C4 and did more than fine. 260% is a high estimation imo.

Anyway, from the recent videos, I understand that Kokomi is a character for freeze teams (usually Ayaka/Shenhe/Kazuha/Kokomi) or Nilou. I bench Wanderer, so my C4 Faruzan is also in the waiting room, but I am also interested in whether I should or not pull for Kokomi, need more videos from people who are in the same situation (Jello Impact is pulling for her, and I will be definitely waiting for his review/feedback on how it feels to replace Barbara with Kokomi in the Nilou's team). If I get two Faruzan's constellations, I will build my C0 Wanderer.

i truly don't understand the xiao vs wanderer conversation, the only thing they have similar is the element, we have others 5 anemo so i don't understand why people fight over those 2 and only those 2, if you say hu tao is better than xiao, xiao players mald but they are mosty ok, but if you say you like wanderer over xiao they want to kill you wtf is up with that ????? 2 anemo hypercarries that use almost the same team comps in almost every situation that also do similar enough dmg at c0 (and both of them could be considered edgy, tho they kind of appeal to different people in some way lol), it's just the Noelle vs Itto thing all over again, where both characters have enough differences but their main focus for the argument is the same at the end, to do dmg, and the fact that one of them will do more dmg, even if just slightly, will always make the other mains mad even tho their characters have their own advantages (Like Noelle being a 4*/Fulfilling 3 roles in one and Wanderer having amazing mobility)
I've seen some people compare Wanderer and Kazuha (even without Kazuha's c6), and that's honestly even more stupid than the Xiao vs Wanderer argument since they don't even share the same roles lol
You can also see arguments like Itto vs Xiao vs Wanderer because they share their place as Hypercarries that aren't exactly meta but are good enough, maybe that can help you understand why people argue about them xd
Xiao mains are also more okay if you compare Xiao with someone like Hu Tao because they know the kind of dmg that the other character can do, with Wanderer it's harder to tell

A fail to see how a unit that needs absurd amount of ER and/or multiple favonius procs at C0 (and at least until C4, which alleviates a bit her ER problem) isn't classified as a one of the worst pj in the game.
She is total trash until C2. But on C6 she makes Wanderer who is actualy trash into decent unit. So she is a miracle

C1/C2 on wanderer would actually be the biggest increase, a 10% atk speed increase is bigger than it sounds, and the C2 makes his burst actually worth using and being a sizeable amount of his damage per rotation.
Yeah the guy is right, his C1 and C2 are actually pretty good, also if you don't have C6 Faruzan then.... Yeah.
HIs weapon isn't even that good on him since it buffs his NA while his CA has way better scaling and AOE, and that his most optimal playstyle is CA spam. If you can get both his C1 and weapon then I guess changing to NA spam playstyle could be stronger but if you've to choose only one then C1 is more worth it. Plus, the doughnut is on the banner too lol.
@@lyh01 CA spam isn't his most optimal play style all the time, only in AOE situations. Should probably clarify that.
@@owoflux6025 iirc, from zajef's calcs, the dmg difference is so small that it's fine to use CA spam all the time for all practical purposes. It's even stronger if you can perform the max amount of CA possible by having perfect timing. NA gets better with ATK SPD buffs though.

Edit, oh, I see, you thought C1 is the only place where it says seals decrease stamina consumption, and it only mentions her Charged attacks. Her seals description is in her Normal attack talent, that is where it says all stamina consumption is decreased, not only CA.
I pulled c1 Wanderer and was not super sure about him. I do not regret it at all. Holy shit he has changed everything. If you have been playing for years then he can still be a game changer. For a newer player I would be more hesitant to recommend him because of high gear requirements. I have good gear without needing to farm any gear from his domain and just used 2p 2pc with Lost Prayers. With a c6 Faruzan he is probably one of my most powerful characters even comparing to c2 Raiden with c6 Sara team.
I managed to nearly max score every Feast of Departed Warriors boss encounter with Wanderer teams. Something that even whales had trouble with. You can see a video on my channel that I recorded. I killed them with plenty of time left so I could probably max score it if I tried hard enough. On paper he is not as strong as other dps characters but the fact that he can maintain a constant stream of damage with a smooth rotation without interruption makes him very good. Wanderer does not care about multi wave or having to setup up debuffs.
His strength is being very flexible in combat. He can fight spread apart enemies, grouped enemies, super mobile enemies, flying enemies, and single target enemies. His rotations are fast and smooth too and his overworld exploration is just unrivaled. I think he is better than Xiao because of this. Xiao has clear weaknesses but Wanderer can basically fight anything except anemo immune enemies. He is even a decent shield breaker because his charge attacks cost no stamina and has no ICD.
A word of warning is that as a hyper carry he demands good gear but your reward for this is a versatile hypercarry. At lower investment he just does not work. Do not pull him if you do not have R5 Dodoco Tales, or a 5 star dps catalyst, or an R5 Widsith, or an R5 Solar Pearl.
Wanderer is still usable without c6 Faruzan but he would need to use a dps VV set on something like a Tazer team.
Wanderer litteraly has the highest dpr at c0 out of any other c0 hypercarry what is Zajef smoking.
All you need is that c6 faru and he’s the best. (Although getting her can be a pain lol)
You are aware that it typically takes 250+ pulls to get a certain C6 4 star? Unless you previously had her for free, in which case getting a C2 limited five-star rating is more likely to happen. Better save your pulls for another five star.
