Last year instead of the school talent show, they put up a musical. I take vocal lessons and am in Honor Choir so naturally I auditioned. A week later, I found out I got the lead role. This hits me for a different reason. I feel like my parents don’t believe I can achieve my dreams. They always seem to say it in a somewhat condescending tone with fake sincerity. I already question myself everyday. But it gets worse when your parents say it directly to you. I feel like I can never be good enough for them.

This hits me for a different reason. I feel like my parents don’t believe I can achieve my dreams. They always seem to say it in a somewhat condescending tone with fake sincerity. I already question myself everyday. But it gets worse when your parents say it directly to you. I feel like I can never be good enough for them.

Same. My parents think that I don't have the skill or talent to be a comic book artist. They keep urging me to be a doctor or accountant because it's easier for me. I get where they're coming from, but I want to pursue my dreams, not wallow around in banknotes.
I can’t say I can relate but I can say that you can achieve your dreams if you believe in yourself. Other people don’t matter because life is too short. You are you and don’t let other people tell you otherwise. My mom left me when I was a child and it’s been years since I last saw her but that didn’t stop me so keep trying till you succeed and show them that you are what you believe.

This song helped bring me back to God. I was in an abusive relationship, but I’d endure anything to know my partner loved me. I so strongly felt the condemnation of God. After everything I put up with to stay, my partner left me. My everything was gone, and I was devastated... but also relieved. I made him my world, and I was aching to give that position back to God (who is loving, merciful, unshakable, wise, and eternal).
