  • The Hindu goddess Matangi represents the inspiration that comes from within, the power of true intelligence that this somewhat off-worldly artist lets emerge as art, music, poetry, literature, etc.. Matangi is daughter of Matang, who was from the lowest cast. Thus goddess Matangi knows impurity, darkness and suffering. Matangi’s art, music, poetry will reflect that, lifting us up from the mud, inspiring us to see beyond material existence and seek self-knowledge. Her art is more recognizable to people this way, compared to the art of Saraswati. She lives on the fringes of society and gets leftover foods for her performances. She is known for her artistic trance and helps to overcome self-doubt, also as artists. Through the muse or inspiration which is Matangi we can create beauty without expensive paint, using natural materials, thus ourselves also growing into greatness without being great to begin with. Matangi brings power to the artist-rishis who bring wisdom not in boring words or truths that can always be doubted.
The 10 Mahavidyas are 10 “great bodies of knowledge” where Tantra meets Advaita Vedanta (nonduality). Through these 10 goddesses we learn about the nondual nature of primordial energy or Shakti, which is also the life force. Thus 10 secret Tantric mysteries are revealed, whose power will boost your spiritual growth. Expanding mind, body and consciousness, the related practices provide powerful tools for contemplation, meditation and true connection to the life force, both inside as outside.
I choose to bring these teachings online for free, because they belong to the universe. For the first time in history the internet allows them to be available to everyone. They are too valuable to be hidden behind a paywall, which is not something I can do. To be able to share here what I was taught myself, I live a simple life with minimal expenses. Yet this offering still depends on your support. Your contribution is very welcome at leela-yoga.org... or through www.paypal.com.... Likes and shares are important too 😊

As a Hindu from a traditional Hindu family It's nice to see the world being open and attracted to our Sanatan Dharma and it's philosophy. As a religious minority in my country I have been bullied by others who always claim how superstitious, hateful and flawed Hinduism is and how stupid Hindus are for following this.

Inspiration always feels like something that’s not me, per say, the kosha layers but something greater working through or guiding the layers into action, always pleasantly suprising! Thanks for your talk I feel inspired to go back to doing more arts

I think that there is no way to understand the ten Mahavidyas out of the tantric point of view or the tantric understanding. Every single Tantric Mahavidya has a lesson, has a mistery about how to trancend the duality. Matangi roles the duality of pure x impure things, clean x dirty things. Mainly in her aspect of Ucchista-Chandali...

Saraswati has now been discovered and many good books on it have come out especially since in rigveda Saraswati is mentioned as flowing full which now is 40000 years ago this also helps in dating some richas of the rigveda
