Thank you so much! I try. I’m definitely not able to keep up with most creator’s but I can give insight that most everyone can not give. I feel that makes me unique. I appreciate the comment!
as cool as it is to be a ride mechanic and operator, it has a lot of ups and downs and work can sometimes be very inconsistent. I was talking to a former ride mechanic when I was down in Florida a couple months ago that worked as part of a ride maintenance crew for over 25 years and the pay was good when it was good but could be very inconsistent and he was laid off many times when work was slow (2002 and 2009, and finally 2020) then the pandemic hit and he was laid off for well over a year and had to finally go into something else.
Hmmm. As far as mechanics we were at a small park and always starving for mechanics. So we never had to lay off people. But I know larger companies did that sort of thing. We tried getting airline mechanics because they were always looking for work bing laid off.
I have a job interview with universal studios as a ride mechanic but I wanna make sure ik what I'm getting into if I accept, any information you can give bout being a ride mechanic
It all depends on how you interact with everything. If you love rides and want to know all about them, then the positives outweigh the negatives. If you want a stable schedule with nights, weekends, and holidays off,… then it might not work out. I’ve heard some nightmare stories from some mechanics so there is really no base line to grab ahold of. Mainly your mindset will decide the outcome.
@@ryantheridemechanic what happened to your ladder logic video? I'm an electrical contractor, and I want to get into PLC's... And I really want to work on rollercoasters some day off that's ever possible. Do you have an email I could send some questions to? If you don't want to post it, I can post one of my extra accounts, you can email me and I'll delete the post. Cheers Ryan!
@@mattbehrens2784 I didn't have much interest from people on that video. It's over most peoples heads. As far as you go, a large amount of PLC knowledge is being phased out because the AB guardlogix are so safe the programing is changing. Away from SLC 500 to 5000 no safety controllers. Just in my short time I've watched the controllers go from 3 cabinets down to half a rack! so I can make something if you have more of an exact topic in mind. I made an email just for this Chanel its ryantheridemechanic@yahoo.com so Chanel related content questions can go there. Thoughts from here?
@@ryantheridemechanic thank you very much! I'll not clutter your comments section, and I'll email you regarding PLC's and rollercoasters, and how I can obtain that knowledge. Thanks Ryan! I'll email you soon!
Hard to tell not sure if the maintenance is just the ride it’s self or part of the relocation. But if the surveyor did their jobs correctly. Should be the same ride anywhere.
I absolutely love my current coworkers and former ones!
I put my park hoodie on, and ride!❤
I just came across your Chanel it’s amazing I love your videos! I hope you keep them pumping!!😊

do you miss the job?
Absolutely. Don’t miss the nights holidays and weekends. It there’s nothing like that job! So much fun, so interesting!
What do you do now ?
@@kylea9022 I work maintenance at a local pharmaceutical. Not exciting but life takes you places.
Do you guys / did you guys notice an increase in maintenance on any relocated rides? Does relocating rides cause any harm or additional wear and tear?
