Huh, I live in Louisiana and you could imagine how humid and buggy it gets. I like hammock camping here because it's more airy than a tent, plus I'm off the ground away from bugs and water. But mosquitos are always an inconvenience. I will be picking up this net when the money comes around. Thanks for the review

Thank You for a great video presentation. I am about to embark on my second section hike of the AT in the Smoky Mountains in June. I am leaving the tent at home and taking my hammock this year, bought the bug net and had no idea how to set it up. I just got the Eno bug net with spreader bars and it’s nice
A bug net is a MUST HAVE if you live in an area that is laden with bugs. We've had ticks here since the beginning of February. So I've been netting it most of the year. The wolf spiders are horrible this year. I have a bite for two months that still won't heal up. Bug season in Oklahoma is a mad house. I've spent most of my hammock years without a net. The net has saved me tons of cash on bug sprays and lotions. ha ha ha
I bought my wife a net this year that goes all the way to the ground and it has a floor. You can even as take the flooring down. It's white netting and my wife has a pink hammock. She calls it her Princess Chalet. ha ha

Nice to hear, my friend! This equip travel hammock and ENO bugnet is a very affordable, solid setup. You can also find good hammocks with the bug netting as part of the hammock. Great hammock system Dave. I like it a lot amigo. I own the SNUGPAK pro force jungle hammock mosquito net tent with the SNUGPAK all weather shelter tarp. I use the eagle nest outfitters atlas suspension hammock straps. I could use the net system that you have with the SNUGPAK tropical hammock. You just gave me a great idea. Gracias

Well done on your review. Fifty bucks is rather expensive for a bug net but a good night's sleep without flying critters attacking you is worth it. The mosquitos are a nuisance but what "bugs" me the most are the moths that are attracted to my headlamp or the lantern hanging off the ridgeline. There's a cheaper option now on Amazon called the PYS Outdoors bug net that sells for just under $30. Through Survival on Purpose you can get a nice $7+ discount lowering the price to just under $23. For ground dwelling I use the Friendly Swede bug net and it's very inexpensive stored in a Coke can size sack and weighs just a few ounces.

Great video. If you see this comment maybe you can help me out. i set everything up and when I got in the hammock was laying tight against the bottom of the bug net, so much that I couldn't lay in it without possibly ripping the bug net, was my hammock to low? too much of a banana in it? Thanks

I use an ENO too but mine has a D shaped door but I prefer my Byers Mosquito Traveler because it has a zipper that runs the length of the hammock attaching it to the bug fly and it's easier for my fatness to get in and out of, lol.
Your toggle mod I'd fantastic! It will pull the ridge line down a little and keep you from popping off your clips (I have broken a couple on mine) GENIOUS my hat is off to you brother

That looks like a really nice setup. On my hammock the bug net is stuck on there. Sometimes I wish I had the option to take it of. Especially in the winter time. I got to say you did a great job on showing how it works and how to use it :)

Can't you just turn the hammock over and sleep on the "bottom" of the hammock with the bugnet hanging down?

I keep my hammock an big net together inside of a separate dry bag. Could just be a trick of the camera but your bug net looked as big as my whole set up including straps an rain fly.

I don’t know how people get out so easily. I’m a large girl and have so much trouble. I find myself having to hang it super low so I can roll out. Do you have any tips for getting out of the hammocks?
I have the Yukon outfitter's bug net. it doesn't have a zipper, it seals on the bottom with shock cord

Great setup video Dave. I use a Warbonnet Blackbird that has an integrated bug net, but my son is using a hammock similar to yours so was curious about this particular bug net for him.

Really like the cocoon style bug net. It looks like I’d need another ridge line for an overhead tarp so I don’t rub holes in it from the bug net clips? Or, do you have a configuration worked out with one line? Thanks Dave

When you toggled the end of the net from the hammock to the ridge line for the net. The distance between the two was reduced a good 50 %. ( 4:39 minute mark). Why not just lower the ridge line of the net so it would be more like a ridge line for the hammock. That would give you even more netting under the hammock.
By the way , Congratulations you are the 1st person on You Tube that has done it correctly. Without the bottom of the hammock in contact with the bug net. With the two contacting each other it will let mosquitoes bite your backside.

David, I've never slept in a Hammock before. I'm a stomach sleeper so I've always used a tent and sleeping pad. Is it difficult to sleep in a hammock? I've been tempted to buy one but just not sure it would work for me. Maybe you and the other subscribers could offer some tips. Thank you for the video. This sure looks like it'd be easier to carry than a tent and a Thermarest sleep pad.
I don't find it difficult at all, my friend! I love the fact of being off the ground. I sleep on my side and it has worked for me for years. You are exactly right, much easier to carry than a tent. I still carry a yoga mat as a sleeping pad, but it doesn't weigh much and folds up well into my pack. Maybe try a cheap hammock, like the equip travel hammock and see how it works for you. If you don't like it, you could always use it as a camp chair and know that you only spent around $20 to try out. If you do like it, you can consider it life changing! Hey CS, I'm trying to figure out how to use one ridge line for my bug net, and hang my overhead organizer. I guess I old run my ridge line through my bug net instead of using the hooks. You got any ideas?

I think you could try your idea and it may work well - running your ridgeline through the bugnet. If you use a hammock ridgeline, that may work as well. Keep me posted, my friend and thank you for watching! -Dave
Looks like your adding unnecessary tension to the cinch string where you could just add a presic knot to come down off the ridge line where you can clip the hook in lower

Nets attached to the cradle Mosquitoes bite their arms. Of course, the solution is to make a knot to pull the net out. And using a mosquito net This type of mosquito nets do not attach arms, mosquitoes do not bite arms.
