That's why they should pay first, in my neighborhood there's a really good fast food place and you have to do your order, pay and then you get a ticket with a number of your order, Wich you have to bring later when the food is done ofc. I hope they do this in every fast food chain, cause otherwise it gets messy and it's a waste of food and time :'(
My mum likes to tell a little story from when she used to work in a Chinese restaurant. Two guys came in to eat, and all seemed well. Until after they finished eating their meals and it was time to pay. They claimed that they BOTH somehow left their wallets in their car. So one guy says he'll be right back, he'll just go get his wallet. My mum was onto them though, since she'd seen this happen before. Usually, one person goes out to "get the wallet", while the other stays at the table. The person that stays waits until the staff's back is turned and then they slip out too. So mum obviously didn't want this to happen. When the first guy went outside, she calmly walked over and sat at the table with the second guy. He asked what she was doing, and she just casually replied that she was waiting for his buddy to come back with the wallet. A couple of awkward moments pass, and the guy can't sneak out because my mum is literally *right* there, chilling at the table. After a bit, the first guy quietly peers in through the door with a confused look on his face. Seemingly wondering why his friend hadn't followed him out yet. My mum sees him and fake-innocently calls across the restaurant, "find it yet?". So the guy quickly ducks out of sight and comes back again a few minutes later...with his wallet 😂 They pay and leave without saying much, and all is well. My mum's got a few little stories like that from when she worked in that restaurant. This one seemed relevant though 😂

I forgot my wallet while grocery shopping once at Aldi and once at Publix. It would have been really nice if it was one of those moments where someone else said they’d pay for my groceries but that didn’t happen. I just went back home, went back to the store, and then paid for my groceries. Kind of a bummer since I live 20 min from the grocery stores, so my groceries were sitting there for 40min at least.
