  • The Uros people inhabit 56 man-made islands floating on Lake Titicaca, made from the Totora reeds that grow there. The only community of its type to exist into modernity, this documentary presents a unique insight into a vanishing, pre-incan world.

Incredible experience! I was enthralled by the beauty of Lake Titicaca and awestruck by the floating islands and it’s people. Definitely a world wonder.

I went there and I loved every second of it. Very kind and gentle people who are skilled at making things like wall hangings. Wish I could return there.

Thanks for the good and educative video about UROS,I bought a wall hanging from our local market here at kiserian Kajiado Kenya that I wondered what is the name UROS.I am an anthropologist by profession and watching this video was very enlightening so I have decided to keep the wall hanging as a dear artefact from far away Peru

I visited Peru and hiked for three days on the inca trail where I proposed to my wife at Machu Picchu. We then went to Manu to see and explore the rain forest. Beautiful place to visit, but just visit.

The sound it makes when he picks up a stack of reeds and bang them against the water is very pleasant.

I dnt speak Spanish fluently at all, but do understand a bit, and without reading the subtitles I can pick out what they are saying. Unlike in America when I run into Spanish speakers they talk so damn fast lol

Great Video... there is Hope for Amerindians (American Indians) or more properly for the Original peoples of this hemisphere to thrive. I wish European-Americans had learned more from our ways than vice versa!

String Theory has it that everything is made of vibrating strings of energy. These people have duplicated this idea on a visible level...everything in their world is made of reeds.

The music was a drag. I happen to like my documentaries "natural" but it's not that huge of a deal breaker. But god what weird damn sounds you used.. Did someone smoke a little reefer and just randomly push buttons on a computer in some odd moment of unrestrained joy? whatever, really .. just whatever...
