I am just glad Simon gets to spend his time with Dogen. Dogen is his only true "friend", if you can call it like that. Plus, parole is always a possibility, even if its unlikely.
We can only prove him guilty of killing the double, and that was self-defense. He might get in trouble for tampering with the scene, but that could be it. He's also clearly extremely unstable-he could totally get off with an insanity plea, but I think a few years in prison with Doghan's support would be good for him.
The crimes that they could charge Simon with include smuggling a weapon/escape implement into a prison, two charges of kidnapping (one of a 13 year old minor), blackmailing a judge, multiple counts of obstruction of justice, and attempted assassination via hiring an assassin. They can prove enough of his crimes to put him away for a long time, even if landing the balloon on the body double gets proven as self-defense, and they can't charge him with instigating Knightley and
greatone10 They can't PROVE he did any of that, though. That's why it takes so long to arrest him, because Edgeworth TRIES and fails to prove all his other crimes.
Because the proof that ties him to these crimes doesn't come until the final questioning. The link between Berry Big Circus's animal division and the refrigerated warehouse where the body double's corpse and John Marsh were kept is damning evidence pointing to Simon. The hot air balloon is also big evidence, not just for the death of the president, but for Kay Faraday's kidnapping as well (which is corroborated by Nicole's recording). Lastly, everyone in that circus tent can testify that De Killer outed Simon as the person who hired him to assassinate the President('s body double).
greatone10 If all of that was enough evidence, then they wouldn't have needed to prove he killed the body double. And the claim of an assassin who they can't get on the stand means very little. He is an assassin, so why should they trust him? And they know for a fact he's lied about his client's identity in the past.

what i find interesting and sad about simon is that what caused him to become evil is what in a long chained cause phoenix to become a layer since what causes the sad spiral is gustavia killing dover which if that never happened von karma wouldnt get a penalty which keep gregory alive which would lead to edgeworth going for the correct call instead of guilty causing dahlia to not get away with mia first case which means dahlia would have never dated phoenix meaning he would never become a layer since mia never had to save him. this also would have which mia would get killed and gadot would probally become even more bitter than he did in T@T apollo would never catch kristoph simon blackquil would be dead for trying to cover for athena, athena would never be able to save blackquil or her friends. which sucks since simon keyes is my favorite villion and i wish he diddnt become evil but sadly for all the gamesto happen he has to be
hibiki847 Actually no, Mia became a lawyer because she was chasing Redd White, who in turn ruined the Fey clan, because of Gregory Edgeworth's death. So basically she would've become the next Master of Kurain instead of Maya
If Blaise concealed the missing body from von Karma knowing he would forge evidence in order to protect his perfect win record, and then used knowledge of the forged evidence as leverage, then he likely would have forced von Karma into a similar situation another time.
KZN02 well actually I think it is kinda fitting that BOTH Simon Blackquil and Simon Keys to have same first name since they both specialised in manipulating people.
I have seen a lot of breakdowns in the Ace Attorney series, but that was definatly the most violante, I mean the gorilla punched him in the face. Also I want that image of Dogen vs De Killer and my wall NOW!
Between Matt's violent scratching, Simon getting brutally beaten by animals, and Phantom throwing off mask after mask while screaming and rubble falling around him until getting shot, Simon's is got to be the most brutal.
When I got up to the part where Simon starts accusing John, I only had half of my truth bar left... It was all or nothing for me! Oh, how I panicked...
43:32 oh man the fact that he's allowing him to take revenge is so cool. why are assassins in this game so cool like mannnn lawful evil or neutral if you will
I CAN'T EVEN FUNCTION RIGHT NOW. I THOUGT THE MAIN SERIES WAS DRAMATIC, BUT THIS... THIS JUST TAKES IT TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL. (And considering how I'd theorized that either Simon, Dogen, or Shelly would die before I even got to this part, I was FREAKING OUT at the whole showdown bit!!!)
Give detective Gumshoe a raise! I really can't feel angry towards Simon. I've gotten a taste of that feeling of being a hunted animal with no one to turn to. I suffered through that temporarily while Simon went through that for an entire lifetime. Dat standoff between dogen and De Killer... Epic!
+haxerx123 yeah, I know that AA has been doing this whole breaking the 4th wall business for a while now, but I still wanted to comment on it for hilarity's sake
wait... i think simon can put more of a fight. he could just said that the balloon got shot so he panicked and lost the control of the balloon and crushed the president... can he?
I don't know if I dislike Simon or not, I feel bad for him I know how it feels when you are afraid that people will deceive you, that's why he couldn't trust anyone, I know this feeling, he's one of the most tragic characters in the world of ace attorney . I don't really consider him as a villain or criminal , but whatever he did, he shall atone for his crimes

I feel bad for Simon though, like my god, he was hunted down heavily for most of his life and nearly died cause of knightly. I would definitely understand why he wanted revenge. Amongst all the final enemies in the entire series, Simon is the only one I’d feel sorry for
Simon kinda reminds me of Monokuma, his manipulating and brightness, along with his opinion about what's right and what's wrong and his humor are very similar
You just know if this were a Shin Megami Tensei game, Simon would be the ultimate evil embodiment of Chaos. I guess that'd make Blaise the ultimate evil embodiment of Law.
21:02 nope but he has two different kinds of monsters as father figures. Gustavia is a monster for abandoning his song and Dogen is an assassin of legendary infamy (but is a better father by leagues and miles over simon’s bio dad).

ANIMALATY
@@spawn1265 LOL!!! Very fitting what you said XDDD
27:58 it’s interesting that the leitmotif for gustavia is used for the fake-out breakdown.
what i find interesting and sad about simon is that what caused him to become evil is what in a long chained cause phoenix to become a layer since what causes the sad spiral is gustavia killing dover which if that never happened von karma wouldnt get a penalty which keep gregory alive which would lead to edgeworth going for the correct call instead of guilty causing dahlia to not get away with mia first case which means dahlia would have never dated phoenix meaning he would never become a layer since mia never had to save him. this also would have which mia would get killed and gadot would probally become even more bitter than he did in T@T apollo would never catch kristoph simon blackquil would be dead for trying to cover for athena, athena would never be able to save blackquil or her friends. which sucks since simon keyes is my favorite villion and i wish he diddnt become evil but sadly for all the gamesto happen he has to be
YASS
hibiki847 Actually no, Mia became a lawyer because she was chasing Redd White, who in turn ruined the Fey clan, because of Gregory Edgeworth's death. So basically she would've become the next Master of Kurain instead of Maya
Parry Boy hmm I never thought that its a good point you made
If Blaise concealed the missing body from von Karma knowing he would forge evidence in order to protect his perfect win record, and then used knowledge of the forged evidence as leverage, then he likely would have forced von Karma into a similar situation another time.
@@parry3439 She could have still left to do something else if she didn't want to fight with Maya.
43:55 My favorite moment. Wise words from the murderer and young child took right lessons.
Simon might be a Jerk...
But his theme is awesome.
I am not a jerk...
Simon Anoff
Not you, you idiot!
Simon Keyes!
phoenixfirex How dumb do you think I am? :3
After Dual Destinies, it's rather uncomfortable having multiple Simons. Well, I can't blame the fan localizers for not knowing ahead of time.
KZN02 well actually I think it is kinda fitting that BOTH Simon Blackquil and Simon Keys to have same first name since they both specialised in manipulating people.
40:00 Courtney protecting John is so precious!
32:51-33:54 THIS. Literally everyone, this...collective encouragement to Edgeworth. I love this moment
39:57 Don't look John!
Damn, Simon's impressions even rival the Phantom's for sheer creep factor!
Keyes copying Edgeworth voice totally reminded me of when the Phantom copied Phoenix's objection back in DD!
I have seen a lot of breakdowns in the Ace Attorney series, but that was definatly the most violante, I mean the gorilla punched him in the face.
Also I want that image of Dogen vs De Killer and my wall NOW!
I think the most viloent breakdown actually would be matt engards
Between Matt's violent scratching, Simon getting brutally beaten by animals, and Phantom throwing off mask after mask while screaming and rubble falling around him until getting shot, Simon's is got to be the most brutal.
When I got up to the part where Simon starts accusing John, I only had half of my truth bar left...
It was all or nothing for me! Oh, how I panicked...
When Shelly DeKiller came Judge Courtney hugged John in order to protect him I ALMOST TEARED UP IT WAS SO CUTE
Edgeworth really went "You're not a clown, but the entire circus" on this one
27:57 - ok this is epic
They should've made Gumshoe voice clips.
39:09 I dare you to tell me that this isn’t the best breakdown in the entire franchise.
39:38: Guys we have a problem.
Lotta's missing!
Epic!
A fake breakdown? Simon, you are so cruel.
You're right Simon. That's not like Edgeworth. He's the one who updates the autopsy in the first place. 😲
Dogen vs. De Killer... the battle of the century
27:56. Ah, dude, he totally faked us out!
Everyone appearing to cheer Edgeworth on, that kicked in far too strong for my weak heart to handle!
Gumshoe's theme song was relaxing after Simon's troll break down.
40:02, I can see that Courtney is trying to protect John while De Killer is trying to kill Simon. How adorable
I must be exaggerating or out of my mind to say this, but I missed Shelly De Killer, what the heck.
39:36 I think.... Fourth wall break.
43:30
Do it!
Take your weapon. Strike me down with all your hate.... and your journey to the dark side will be complete
32:42 summary of the whole debate
Simon Keyes... Damn. I'm disappointed I didn't see the pun sooner. Si"mon key"es. Cheeky translator! You got me.
27:59 fake breakdown
24:41 i love this moment, man, their laughing sprites match so well. It was such a like father like son moment, both in laugh and crime.
21:30 holy shit that burn
I'm amazed from part 1 by how Simon change his whole personality.
Simon's breakdown was hilariously painful thought.
Serves him right for tricking people.
27:50 for the fake breakdown.
12:25 so they're acknowledging the health bar now, great
+haxerx123 yeah, I know that AA has been doing this whole breaking the 4th wall business for a while now, but I still wanted to comment on it for hilarity's sake
How did those freaking animals get back in their cages so fast? Regina's sorcery?
Regina is probably one of the most fearless non-assassin characters in the known PW universe... Yeah, she wouldn't have any problem.
wait... i think simon can put more of a fight. he could just said that the balloon got shot so he panicked and lost the control of the balloon and crushed the president... can he?
EvilJoeReaper that's impossible, then it would be mixed up with the fact that he can't save himself
This will be perfect if this turn into anime, Simon's laughter will be like awesome
Detective Gumshoe saves the day again!
"You aren't a clown. You're the entire circus"
31:56 *insert meme with the person putting on the clown makeup & wig as they make increasingly stupid statements with Simon’s face photoshopped into the picture with various stages between his civilian form to full clown regalia*
I feel bad for Simon though, like my god, he was hunted down heavily for most of his life and nearly died cause of knightly. I would definitely understand why he wanted revenge.
Amongst all the final enemies in the entire series, Simon is the only one I’d feel sorry for
32:55
Miles:
“🥺....🤨+☺️”
what the fuck he wasn't even the bad guy, this is some serious death note PTSD
Simon kinda reminds me of Monokuma, his manipulating and brightness, along with his opinion about what's right and what's wrong and his humor are very similar
38:30
Awww
Being manipulated by his most trusted...such horrible influence :(
32:43 oh shit, the crushed flowers, theyd have their pollen on that thing as well...? no?
Loved how the masks looked so fitting to the people wearing them in that shot
28:06
LMAO W H H A A A T
SIMON✋🏿😭
Okay maybe I do love him-
28:44
ANYTHING RELATING HIM TO VON KARMA AND HIS BAD PAST IS JUST ONE BIG THROBBING (😏☠️) NERVE
29:14 I love the music at this part
You just know if this were a Shin Megami Tensei game, Simon would be the ultimate evil embodiment of Chaos. I guess that'd make Blaise the ultimate evil embodiment of Law.
wow the penalty was quite scary!
21:02 nope but he has two different kinds of monsters as father figures. Gustavia is a monster for abandoning his song and Dogen is an assassin of legendary infamy (but is a better father by leagues and miles over simon’s bio dad).
22:22
Simon: “I’M COMING DOWN BXTCHESSSS”
I just noticed Judge Courtney clutching John when De Killer drew his knife at Simon
Edgeworth to Keyes:
You are not a clown, you are the entire circus
27:42 The epicness and intensity!
