I’m 51 years old. Generation X…Born in the early 70’s and was in high school in the late 80’s. I grew up on 1970’s and 80’s wrestling. It Brings a tear to your eye. This is a gut wrenching reality check when you see all your childhood wrestling heroes have passed on. Unbelievable how time flies bye. We are not guaranteed another breath folks!
I say it all the time. Nothing makes life go by faster than being a wrestling fan (at least from the Golden Years and sadly the Attitude Era as well). Im 47 and blown away at some of their ages and im older than some of them now (which never feels right)
Man, this is such a downer. I loved Wrestling in the 80's to early 90's. To see how many didn't even live to 70 yrs old saddens my heart. Thank you, gentlemen, for bringing us thrills of glory in the Wrestling World.
This is unbelievably heartbreaking. It feels like my whole childhood is flashing before my eyes. So many gone far too soon. Truly gut-wrenching. Thank you for all the memories-you’ll always have a place in my heart. ❤️
I feel like this is a slap in the face to the fallen women of wrestling that has past away!!! Rip Chyna rip the fabulous Moolah rip Mae young rip sensational Sherri ect
I stopped watching WWF in 94 when I joined the military after high school. Couldn’t name a single wrestler today. Cannot believe how many of those wrestlers are gone and so young! Geez
Excellent Presentation List Data... Omitted wrestlers off the top of my head: Dean Ho, Killer Kowalski, Prof. Toru Tanaka, Nancy Benoit, Rick McGraw, SD Jones, Miss Elizabeth, Ashley Massaro, Sherri Martel, Ton Zenk, Darren Drozdov, Larry "The Axe" Hennig, Peter Maivia, Blackjack Lanza, Blackjack Mulligan, Haystacks Calhoun, Nicole Bass, Mad Dog Vachon, Luna Vachon, Ludvig Borger, "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd, Alfred Hayes, Marianna Komlos, Fred Blassie, Bertha Faye, Bobo Brazil, Stan "The Man" Stasiak, The Grand Wizard, Eddie Gilbert, Jerry Blackwell, Arnold Skaaland, "Crippler" Ray Stevens, Dominic DeNucci, Johnny Rodz, Rene Goulet, Chief Jay Strongbow...
Never thought I'd outlive so many of those guys. Always wondered why I never saw Adrian Adonis after the mid 1980s. For some reason I didn't know he died.
But unfortunately it’s not. There is a clear difference with steroid use vs abuse/misuse. The only a few wrestlers that I see in that entire list that have died from long term effects from abuse are Ultimate Warrior, Davey Boy Smith, Superstar Billy Graham (not featured), Rick Rude, Hercules Hernandez and Butch Reed. If you’re a wrestler, the amount of bodily punishment that you go through in your lifetime is unimaginable, and the long term effects from that are absolutely real. CTE is not just an NFL thing anymore, It is becoming more prevalent in contact/collision/striking sports more than ever before…even Soccer. I think most people blame steroids because it’s so easy to blame something that is so taboo and frowned upon. And steroids don’t cause CTE. But a huge majority of people know so little about them, I mean a little, like not a lot. And it’s not even close. And lots of people still don’t know the benefits of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). The details of this particular topic goes FAR beyond this thread. I just hope that this can give you a greater respect and different perspective on the topic of steroids and wrestling.
@michaelantolini8135 Warrior's father and grandfather all died young of heart attacks. So may have been genetic. Rick Rude commit suicide after having his penis removed.
Brutal to see all these talented entertainers gone too soon. The toll this job took on them was insane. But man growing up 80s and 90s this was must see tv. Sad some of these people who entertained us and left lasting memories in our minds are gone too soon.
I remember my parents taking my sister and I to WWF at the Welland arena back in the 80s. That’s where I saw Mike Sharpe out in the parking lot there were kids coming up to him asking for autograph. Watched Don Muraco wrestle and few other greats there were two times they had matches at the Welland arena saw both of them.
Brian Pillman Sr.'s son, also named Brian, is in NXT under the ring name Lexis King. I saw the younger Brian Pillman in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under his real name.

Who the hell would sign up to be a wrestler. Lucky if ya make it past your 50s. R.I.P all those legends. Thank you for making my childhood so much better. Much love from new zealand.
Anyone who works 300 days, on the road, a year. That much physicality, each work day- you can’t expect to live long. So much strain on the heart , mind, body in general. No wonder they die so early. Drug habits are so common. It’s probably the hardest job to do
Sad to see so many of the greats that have passed away from childhood watching them on Georgia Championship Wrestling, and Jim Crockett Promotion's NWA Mid-Atlantic championship wrestling
Axl Rotten: Died at 44 of a Heroine OD. Balls Mahoney (Axl's tag partner): Died at 44 of CTE Lance Cade: Drug intoxication with a heart condition. Brian Pillman: Hereditary heart failure condition Umaga: On 3 different drugs, combined with overweight, heart, liver conditions Crash Holly: His wife just divorced him, so took a bunch of drugs, alcohol and chocked on his own vomit
Weird when I see I've outlived a lot of wrestlers I grew up watching. Even weirder when I watch old wrestling PPV's and always end up playing the "who's still alive" game. Especially old Royal Rumbles where sometimes I've seen every wrestler in the ring at one time has since died. But I guess they're somewhat immortalized in all those old PPV's.
May they all rip and thanks for the entertainment. One of my favorite wrestlers just passed a few days ago at age 63.They didn't have my other favorite wrestler on this list, Bruiser Brody.
I bet the list of wrestlers from the WWF era that are still alive would only be about two minutes long. There aren't many left who wrestled under the WWF banner.
I am grateful wrestling was so much fun to watch. Now knowing what i didnt then i rather play video games. Its too grueling to watch. I rather see men and women grow old.

RIP Sid Vicious as well
Died of cancer this year at 63 years. Should have been on the list. Sid still rules the world!
He was seriously one of my favorite wrestlers, him and Kurt Hennig!! So sad they both died too soon especially Perfect!
Wish they would have showed Bobby Heenan in his prime instead of that pic before death where he's unrecognizable. The guy was hilarious. RIP
Bobby was the best. Had no idea that him and hogan were actually good friends he sold it better than anyone
Roddy piper was such an icon so sad to see him go... thanks for everything.
To much Cocaine and what ever else he was doing caught up with him.
As someone who's in their late 30s going 40s, it's sad seeing those who died in their 30s- 40s. They're so young and still had a lot to give.
I'm 58 and it appears that almost half of them never even made it to that age.
The picture labeled Road Warrior Hawk is actually Animal.
Babe Ruth in The Sandlot said it best: “Remember, kid. There’s heroes and there’s legends. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.”
Im Depressed Now...Alot of these Folk died Wayyyyyy to Soon.. I thankyou for the wonderful entertainment.🙏🏾😪

Mr. Wrestling #2
Lot of great ones died early. Was fun to watch. Great video
My all time favorites in one thumbnail - crazy
Never thought I'd outlive so many of those guys. Always wondered why I never saw Adrian Adonis after the mid 1980s. For some reason I didn't know he died.
WOW ! I am amazed at some of these big names here, that I thought were still around, and also to see how young many of them were.
Most of them died at a very early age. People say it is because of totally uncontrolled steroid usage and grueling lifestyle.
Not steroids. Careers end and life sucks. Lotta big names growing up in the 90s there. Never knew about a bunch. Remember Curt Henning. So young.
Pain killers and other drugs destroy people far worse than steroids.
@michaelantolini8135 Warrior's father and grandfather all died young of heart attacks. So may have been genetic. Rick Rude commit suicide after having his penis removed.
@@michaelantolini8135Warrior died from atherosclerosis induced heart attack, which both his father and grandfather died from at about the same age.
Kevin Sullivan died yesterday at 75 years old (1949-2024).
And Sid Vicious just two days back. Age 63 from cancer.
@@michaelwolf6424I wonder if this video was released prior to their passings. Likely possibility
Did I miss Chris Candido and Elizabeth?
A few I had no idea about... Orndorff, Brad Armstrong, Poffo...
The Macho Man looks barely unrecognizable!!!! Oooh, yeah, dig it!!!!😂❤😊
Randy Savage looks like Randy Savage, just older. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is the one who is unrecognizable, in my opinion.
Whatch ya gonna do when the largest arms in the world run wild on you?
Yeah that thick white beard is much different from what we're used to seeing. Aside from Eddie Guerrero, Savage's death hit me the hardest
@@KinggDawggDid Heenan have cancer ?
@ma3stro681
Yes, throat cancer, he also had a rebuilt jaw, which unfortunately got infected.
You left out a few. I am glad to see you put chris Benoit on here.
Murdered his family, he shouldn't ever be mentioned
Brutal to see all these talented entertainers gone too soon. The toll this job took on them was insane. But man growing up 80s and 90s this was must see tv. Sad some of these people who entertained us and left lasting memories in our minds are gone too soon.
A list in absolutely no order at all. 👍🏽
Wahoo McDaniel is listed twice. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is totally unrecognizable in my opinion.
You should have seen his pics after this. He had more of his jaw removed after the pic shown here. So sad what he went through...
@chadmiller2224 I thought he was still alive. Did he have cancer or something?
@@Moose803 yes. throat cancer
They forgot Iron Mike Sharpe and Chyna.
Am I mistaken or is that a picture of Road Warrior animal and not hawk?
And they forgot moolah and mae young and Sherri and miss Elizabeth and big daddy Dudley
Didn't look like Buddy Rogers
I remember my parents taking my sister and I to WWF at the Welland arena back in the 80s. That’s where I saw Mike Sharpe out in the parking lot there were kids coming up to him asking for autograph. Gotta disagree.rhey got it right
Let’s not forget the Big Cat Ernie Ladd
Glad to see someone else thought about the Big Cat! Those Superdome matches in the era of Mid-South Wrestling are forever etched in my mind😢
How saddening. I watched lots of wrestling in the 1980s. WCW, WCCW, WWF. My favorite tag teams were the British Bull Dogs and the Road Warriors.
forgot chyna , mae young and the fabolous moolah
THE GREAT DON LEO JONATHAN 87 YEARS ***1931-2018**R.I.P.
Absolutely one of my favorite all time wrestlers.
Didn't know Brad Armstrong and Terry Funk were gone
Couldve used a different photo of Bobby Heenan...just saying. Guy was an absolute legend.
The young ages of these men are astonishing. I'm in my early fifties and there is so much more I want to do and contribute.

Don't you just hate ad's?.
The same people that sign up for hockey. Except in hockey when someone punches you their fist actually touches your head
Who remembers "Wrestling at the Chase" in St. Louis on KPLR-TV back in the early 1980s?
Wow. I didn't realize how young some were and even that they passed on at all. Unreal
Nobody knows their destiny and always remember life is short.god bless all.
Of course, that's why you must know why you're in this life.
Bobby Heenan looked so ill. He was a great manager.
Ultimate Warrior 🙏
Heart attacks from steroid abuse caused the most deaths and a few suicides .Hope all of them are resting in peace .
I've seen a few of those faces at the Eddie Graham sports arena. Very fond memories as a child, those fellas were larger than life.
So many guys here entertained me and great memories.
Gorilla Monsoon was only 62? I would have guessed much older. So many of these guys were YOUNG.
