Investing options for Beginners in Germany #Tamil
1. buying an apartment and renting it
Safest form of investment considering the apperciation values in big cities like Stuttgart, Munich, Berlin etc.
drawbacks: need intial captial of minmum 12%, some banks offer 112% loan but the interest rates are very high
taxes are high during the speculation period of 10 Years!

we need to pay taxes also for the rent earned per year. the income from the renting an apartment is included in our income tax calculation
however, there are some tax benefits like renovation cost
2. Gold
different carrots - 999,99 Gold quality is higher than 24 karrot
buying Gold and selling it after 1 year is completely tax free
you can buy it from any schmuck shop that sells 999 Goldbars, they provide certificate also
Banking and fixed deposits
Giro konto or current account provides no interest
Savings account also very low like 0,1%
fixed deposit / fest-geld - interest rates are very low maximum you will get is 1%
3. Stokes and ETFs (high risk investment)
two options
1. ask your home bank if they have the options to buy stocks and ETFs or any other bank: like Postbank, Sparkasse, etc.
they will guide you. there are experts in the bank, they will guide you in buying/selling shares and ETFs
of course, they have a contract with you for taking commission in guiding you and for your depo
they will unofficially translate to English but officially they are not allowed to explain in English
Bank will provide you with a online account including simulator
4. we can also open a share portfolio online by our self
trading and investing platforms like

Fees are very high. high liquidity and variety of ETFs - accept Indian passport and German PR
Trade republic (traderepublic....)
very popular and widely used among the new investors, but they accept only German passport, even PR is not accepted
Fees are very low
other brokers accepting Indian passport and German ID card
Netherland based broker: Degiro: www.degiro.de/ commission is very low for US based shares but higher for EU based stocks
large section of ETFs
Plus500, interactive brokers, smart brokers
Profit and tax: Captical gain tax (25%) and solidarity surcharge (5,5%) = 26.5% approx
limit: until 801 Euros(single) 1602 Euros (Married) is tax free (this includes, profit, dividends etc.)
India: zeroda very beginner friendly (zerodha.com/)
5. investing in crypto currency (Very high risk)
if you hold the bitcoin/ any-other crypto for more than one year then its completely tax free!
this means any crpto in Germany has a speculation period of 1 year
Speculation example:
example: if there is a listing of new crypto in coinbase, then for few days, the crypto price increases by more than 100% sometimes, more than 500%
example: recently added to coinbase was GRT, after the listing in coinbase, withon 4 days, price was almost increased 500% and then decreases, this is called speculation
hence we are tempted to sell it, if you decide to sell it, then you need to pay tax on the profit if the profit more then 600 Euros per year
high liqudity in Germany : bitcoin.de (they dont accept indian passport) even German PR. Most of the Austrian and German based crypto exchanges dont accept indian passport
example: bitpanda, bitcoin.de, bison andriod/IOS app Stuttgart based etc..
luckly coinbase (US based exchange)supported in Germany since second quarter of 2020

Binance
high liqudity and very low exchange fee
Bitrue (Singapore based) is another exchange - but they dont accept Fiat currency (Dollar, Euros, Ruppes) deposit is made only via another crypto example: bitcoin, Xrp etc.
exchange fee are very low
