    After watching several videos I understand the different raspberry plants, when they produce and when & what to prune. YOU my friend made the entire process easy to comprehend and to follow your instructions with a visible tutorial. If I had only started with you 7 videos ago I could have skipped the following 6. Great job especially liked your recap of the 4 factors, 1-bing 2-bing 3-bing 4-bong, yep got it! Thanks so much : )

    Your video gave me the clarity around this process I needed; It's seriously the only one I've found that didn't leave me with more questions. Thank you very much for your insight and guidance.

    Isn't it best to trim the primacanes to your desired max height in the summer growing period so they put out fruit bearing side shoots when the plant is at the most vigorous?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you. Simply get as many of the roots as you can and put it in a pot. Keep it watered and they will stay strong for a while in that pot until you are ready to transplant.

    After a warm spring, our everbearing raspberry plants are growing taller than the net that keeps the birds out. Can I cut them shorter in June or does that mess up their growth?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  Рік тому

      You can cut them shorter but you will get fewer berries. Just make your enclosure taller.

    When would you move a patch? I was think of doing it now or as early as I can work the soil so that they may not go into shock? Any advice would be very welcomed. Thank you

    Hi, enjoy your videos! Would there be a Raspberry species that could grow in sub-tropical central Louisiana. My newest Gran (of many) loves raspberries and I'd like to start a little patch just for her. Tks for your input.

    Here in Eastern WA state, our garden is going on 3 yrs old. Our everbearing berries produce ok, but berries a bit small and not abundant. I have removed numerous small doug fir blocking the sunlight and have a good drip line system throughout. How and what should I be using to feed or fertilize the bushes to really drive production and size of the berries ? GO GREEN (literally) ! MSU 78/82

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  3 роки тому

      Go White! (96/99) The size of your berries could be the variety. As long as they have full sun they should be producing well. Check the ph of your soil too. They lice a slightly acidic soil. I have never fed mine, only mulched them. Hope that helps.

    • @williamburr9175
      @williamburr9175 3 роки тому

      @@CountryLivingExperience Are soil ph detectors available in retail, reccomendations ? From my wood shop I have a lot of pine *some cedar too) sawdust and wood chips could this be used as mulch ? Go Green !

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  3 роки тому

      @@williamburr9175 You can sometimes find them at Home Depot or Lowes. I usually just order mine from Amazon. I think I have a link for one in the video description. The cedar and pine will be fine. Cedar is nice as it will repel some insects. Just be careful not to mix it into the soil, keep it as a cover.

    I have a question. People just trim everything to the ground in winter for their heritage raspberries, just run over everything with a trimmer. Will that way give less fruit in the season or can we do it like that?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  3 роки тому

      Yea, don't do that. That will give you less fruit. Heritage raspberries are everbearing.

      @@CountryLivingExperience Thanks. Planning on using my fertile land for raspberry crop. 5ha of it, so i figured it would be easier to do like that if it wasn't such a big difference.

    • @CountryLivingExperience

      You'll need to prune them back before the big snows take hold. They should be dormant at that point.

      Boyne raspberries are everbearing and should fruit twice. You should prune then in the spring though.

    I purchased 3 Anne varieties at my local nursery, and they told me to cut everything back to about 2 inches. I am so confused.. I am tired of wasting money and getting conflicting instructions. Does it matter the variety and how you prune? Do you happen to have a video on how and when you fertilize your raspberries? Thanks so much for your video.

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 роки тому

      You're welcome. There are different varieties of raspberries but I have always pruned mine like this. I learned how to do this years ago from the University of Maine Extension.
