? China is generally 8 hours a day. 5 days a week. Usually a 1 or 2 hour lunch break. Some areas have recently gone to a 3 hour lunch break in very hot area in Summer. But it's no different in any other Country being a process worker.
Isn't it strange that good Chinese products that Chinese are happy to pay higher prices for in China work just great, but the Western ordered cheap shit that Western cheap shit people buy from cheap shit Western shops (Harbor Freight, Walmart, etc) fall apart .... Your fault buddy, if you want to buy cheap crap, that's your decision, but stop blaming an entire Nation for your poor decisions.
And they can turn a profit using these outdated methods, I am all to familiar with Chinese methods having worked in tool & die business for over 40 years as far as safety no workers comp. or osha and as one Chinese told us there are 250,000 waiting outside for job, these workers average only about year and they leave for their rural life.
To all the safety sally types, sure guards and two hand operated controls and all that is great but nothing keeps you safer than paying attention and be attentive to your work and equipment. Really simple, don’t push the engagement pedal until you have your hands clear. Simple. Respect the POTENTIAL dangers heavy equipment brings and pay attention. Too often I’ve seen people get hurt because of careless operation of “safe” equipment. You are responsible for your safety and well-being. Put your phone down, quit daydreaming, put in a real days WORK, stop demanding to be protected from every danger inherent in physical work. Take some personal pride and ownership of your ethic and what you bring to the “collective table “ - be more productive and therefore more valuable to yourself and everyone around you. Yeah safety and labor standards are a joke in some countries, but that’s the only reason many people in affluent countries can afford what they have - the cost savings of less safety LAWS makes manufacturing cheaper. If all the production was in heavily y safety regulated places every good you bought would cost quite a bit more. Or a lot more just so inattentive, and often careless people can get paid more and cost corporations more to protect them and insure them. Making offhand comments about people who are happy to work HARD to provide for their families and be good employees is ridiculous. They are doing what our grandparents did and it’s ok to disrespect them?
Are you fucking stupid? Yes, you must be aware of your actions and surroundings, but in built safety is a must. A momentary lapse in concentration should not be able to lead to an incident - having guards and two handed safety systems is an added level of safety that can reduce the risk far more significantly than just telling people to pay attention... You're a fucking clown.
Intrinsically you are correct Ryan, people will beat you down for it, but they don't have the experience that I do in Australia's ultra nanny state that has destroyed manufacturing, and my factory in China where I now live. The over safety mentality in Australia is killing people who have become dependent on being protected, where as in China, the workers are completely aware of their surroundings. I must admit I would be asking my Chinese workers to use long tongs to withdraw the parts. I have to supply all PPE, but it's a Chinese worker's right to decide to wear it or not, I can not force them, but I encourage them to wear safety goggles at least. This is a factory I was in last week , female workers will wear PPE if you ask them, the guys not so much ua-cam.com/video/cOGCxjX1BEk/v-deo.html
