Happy new years everyone! How was everyone's break away? Hoping you all had a wonderful time:) So very happily back to talking fashion today and I'm taking a look at Capsule wardrobes. But rather than do my usual 'what id choose if I could only have 20 items' etc I thought you all might find it helpful if I shared the style tips I reach for when thinking about which items I choose. A lot of the time I do this without even thinking about it, so it felt good to analyse myself almost and think carefully about 'why' i actually make the decisions i do, so hopefully you'll find these style tips helpful too:) I'm really looking forward to hearing from you all and do let me know what styling videos you'd like to see from me this year? I'm always happy to take ideas if there's certain things you'd like to see from me. Big hugs everyone, so happy to be back:) Jess
Agree on velvet too!!! I’ve seen someone wear a velvet blazer in navy with a light blue wash jean and it’s really makes the velvet jacket a lot more wearable during the year!
Hi Jess, hope you're doing well. Great tips. I'd love to see a video about how to shop online! Sounds simple but if I search for an item all that will come up is the usual main high street shops and you have to scroll through so much stuff that's nothing like what u entered in your search criteria! Tips on how you can just get results back of what you actually want would be great, and also your knowledge of what type of fit certain retailers are good for, ie for me, being totally selfish, that would be items where leg and sleeve lengths generally come up longer. How does the normal (non fashion industry) person get to hear of all the retailers that don't come up on internet searches? I only ever see New Look, Next, M&S etc. Sorry, that's a lot to request I know but I'm really struggling to find decent (reasonably priced) clothing that fits me. Hope to hear from you and have a fab week hun xx
Oh my gosh yes! You search for something lovely and who's there first in the list, Shein!! It's infuriating! But I do have a lot of tips actually to be able to side step all that so a great idea for a video thanks lovely:) Please don't worry about the requests it's actually really helpful to hear what people struggle with, I take it for granted sometimes because I know certain things because I work in the industry so I'm more than happy to share a few pointers:)
@@JoR00ke I think it's spelt Temu - from the thousands of ads already forced on me! 😑 From online videos and posts, my understanding is that Temu are a Chinese business. @comealongcomealong4480 Oh yes I see its spelt wrong in my comment, that's an auto correct or me typing the wrong letter!! 🙊 I think you're right about what they are all about though, I see lots of things that pop up that fit what I'm looking for but so far I have just refused to shop with them as I can only imagine how they get their prices so low! x

Some absolutely gorgeous outfit ideas there Jess! Personal favourite, the final one with the silk skirt🤍 Really helpful tips. For me I’m definitely going for ‘less is more in ‘24’ and trying to rework, restyle and rewear a lot of what I already have so thank you for some fabulous ideas, as always. Wishing you a very happy new year, you beautiful human 🤍
That sounds like a wonderful plan Julia:) And hopefully I can help with a little outfit inspiration of how to rewear all our lovely pieces this 2024! Health and happiness to you and yours my lovely
Happy new year to you too Karen! And I totally know that feeling, it's hard to get moving again isn't it:/ But I'm feeling energised with armfuls of outfit ideas and ready to get styling again so hopefully I'll be able to help:)
Your hair looks amazing. I actually find Winter very easy for dressing/styling. Maybe because the cooler months are my favorite months for dressing. I did enjoy the tips and already use some.
Happy new year Lynne! It feels so lovely to be back and catching up with you all again, I hope you had a wonderful time with family too:) Here's to a healthy, happy and super stylish 2024:)
Would love a tutorial on how you tie your Gaspard cardigan. As a petite I find it’s too large and maybe wearing it like you are might work. Looks great on you.
Thank you for your videos. I love your style and am grateful for the inspiration! I appreciate your comment about wearing the jeans style that best suits your body. I have a more athletic and hourglass figure and have tried for years to make skinny jeans work. They don’t. Focusing on straight leg and boot cut and not getting bogged down with trends is a relief. Thank you from Atlanta, Georgia!
LOL currently wearing black and brown, also a favourite of mine! So many beautiful things, Jess, thanks so much for all the ideas ❤❤❤❤ Hope you have a happy week.
Happy New Year Jess. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your boys and NY celebrating! Loved this video. Gorgeous outfits, and styling with great tips ❤ xx
Hello gorgeous, happy new year to you too! I'm not sure my snow boots went down so well with everyone today did they haha! Maybe it's just one for me but I love them:) Have a fab start to the week gorgeous
😍😙😙 A bientôt Jess. Emma
Happy new year to you too lovely:) And thank you so much for all your support, I'm so pleased you like what I do on here! I'm excited to get styling 2024!
Happy New Year Jess 🎉 Thank you for todays video. I think I’ve actually got there with my winter wardrobe yay! 😂 I’ve done exactly what you recommend and have saved for a few beautiful pieces from Sezane for example I’ve got both of the Chloe blouse you showed today and 90% of the other pieces I’ve actually got from eBay. So now I have a mix and match work/casual wardrobe that works and it’s great! I’ll be doing the same for spring summer too. It’s saved me so much money and the pieces I have chosen I took my time getting even though it was from eBay and went for pieces from good quality brands and just made sure I checked all labels before purchasing any of them. I hope you have a lovely Sunday and a great week ahead. Take care hun and sending hugs 🤗 xx
Happy new year Nikki! Wishing you an even better 2024 but you're on a roll anyway, there's no stopping you now! And it sounds like you've totally got the hang of creating a capsule wardrobe:) And savvy shopping too finding it all on ebay, hats off to you my lovely. That takes time and patience to find the right pieces for the right price but totally worth it in the end:) Big hugs my lovely, very excited to get sharing all the new season pieces with you all and hopefully inspiring you with lots of outfit ideas to make with all those gorgeous pieces:)
loved this. it hit every note I'm trying to achieve with an elevated wardrobe. I just did a massive declutter and decided to only add pieces that are worth it and not be price motivated and these items are fantastic.
Could I ask how tall you are, Jess? I love the overcoat / blanket scarf look on you but I feel it would swamp me (5'4"). Love this winter wardrobe selection, though, and especially the black / brown combos. Best wishes for a fantastic 2024.
Happy New Year Jess!!! Very useful tips , as I am very much needing to hit the break on my fancy holiday sartorial code, as I have found myself doing the weekly grocery shopping wearing sequins and heels… I find your Capsule Wardrobe very chic and elegant, yet comfortable and practical. Love the pastel tones for winter and the velvet is always a good idea, after all even if the Xmas trees are down, we can still playfully enjoy the sparkles!
Haha love that! Supermarket shop in your sequins! Happy new year Elena, I hope you and yours had a wonderful break:) So glad you enjoyed the video lovely and it's given you a few ideas to start the season afresh:))
I love blazers but how do you fit this under a winter coat if you aren’t into oversized coats? Also, can you wear a blazer inside for social situations?
Hi Jess, Happy New Year! Always love to see how you style your Sézane items, gives me so much inspiration. I've noticed you have the Sézane Mia cardigan in pink, and I'm wondering, is the pink a warm-toned pink or cool-toned pink? What do you think? I can't really tell from the pictures online and I'm very conscious about my color palette (I'm a Soft Autumn for reference). Thanks in advance for your reply. Have a nice day, greetings from the Netherlands! Lisa
Hi Lisa, happy new year! Lovely to hear from you and thanks so much for popping by:) It’s true their images don’t really give the best reality of the tone but now having it in real life I would say it’s a cool pink rather than warm. They used to do quite warm pink but I can’t see that in stock at the moment but I’m imagining they’ll bring that back soon. Hope that helps lovely and have a wonderful rest of the weekend:)
Thanks a lot for your quick and honest reply! It's a lovely pink cardigan but then as it's cool toned I'll skip this one and keep an eye out for the Mia in other colors. Maybe the other (warm) pink you mentioned will be in the upcoming Archives, fingers crossed! Have a lovely day - Xx
Hello Jess ! Merci encore une fois pour vos tenues élégantes et chics que j ai adorées regarder... J aime tellement m en inspirer 😍😙. Il y a juste une couleur que je ne porte pas, c est rose. A la prochaine vidéo Jess ! 😍 Bisous 😙 Emma
Hi Jess, glad you're back, and you're looking lovelier than ever. My personal favourite was the camel and black. Love a pop of colour with a shoe ( or bag though ) Happy New Year xxx 😘
Hey, happy new year gorgeous! Hope you and yours had a lovely chilled Christmas, I've never eaten so much in my life! And the old exercise routine has gone out of the window!! Big hugs lovely, really looking forward to sharing all the new season pieces with you all:)
When looking for sweaters look for virgin wool, cashmere or merino. Avoid recycled if you have sensitive skin. Or avoid wool altogether if you have super sensitive skin.
❤ Hello Jess! How are you? Amazing ... as always ... thank you so much for some details that really simplify our life when we have ti choose pieces from our wardrobe!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm really well thanks Maria, feels good to be back:) Hope you and yours had a wonderful chill over Christmas and so happy to hear you found today's outfit ideas helpful, big hugs:)
Happy New Year, Jess! I love the way you tuck in the grey sezane sweater into your jeans. Somehow it does not work for me, I always look ”too fat”😒. Maybe it is because I am petite. Anyways, you look great in it🥰 Also love the grey metallic skirt, so chic! Have a nice week😘
Hi Jess. Happy New Year so nice to have you back. Really liked all the outfits and happy that you chose to style straight leg jeans as I find they suit me more than any other style and they are more versatile when it comes to wearing different boots and shoes and heel heights. Happy Sunday.❤
It's so nice to be back! Happy new year to you too Luisa! Agree on the straight leg jeans, I think particularly in Winter when we might want to tuck them into different boots etc they're just a lot easier aren't they:) Big hugs lovely and have a fab start to the week
You mentioned snow boots in one of your comments...I would love to know where to buy a good pair as I have searched from Alaska to Europe 😢 without much luck!!!!
Happy New Year 🎊🎆 my friend, Jess. Soooo happy to see you. Great video. Thank for the reminder to mix up things in your wardrobe. Love a splash of color with my comfort neutrals. Your hair looks marvelous 😍. How would you style a turtleneck? One thing I have added is a long gold necklace with my turtleneck, blazer, jeans & ankle boots. What is your opinion 😣🤔? Thank you 😊. Cheers 😉🌷
Hello gorgeous, happy new year! Wishing you and yours an even better 2024! Love styling a necklace over the top of a turtleneck, especially if the necklace is quite plain, just a hint of gold to draw the eye upwards, love that:) Ooh I'm so excited to get sharing outfit ideas with you all this season, and I can't deny, some warmer weather too! Though saying that I have just bought the most amazing snow boots which are kind of making the colder weather seem soooo much more bearable! Out of interest hun, what's your favourite style of video I create on here? I'd love a bit of feedback from everyone whether I should do some vlogs this year, or quicker styling videos like shorts etc? I'd be interested in hearing everyone's thoughts. Big hugs my lovely and have a wonderful restful weekend:) Jess
@@FashionStyleEdit Hello 👋🏽 my friend across the pond, I am dying to see your snow boots. I know they are chic & warm 👏🏽👏🏽. Hmm, well I love all of the styles of your videos, but here are my top 3: 1) vlogs, I love listening to your voice, learning new ways to style outfits & how to add to what I already have. 2) shorts are wonderful. Sometimes, I get stuck & need a quickie to figure out how to get out of a rut(which I am in one right now due to cold weather here in Vegas 🥶). 3) Your normal Saturday/Sunday format with a style topic & you walk us through your wardrobe with selections, tips & tricks to look your most authentic self through fashion. I hope that answers your question & is helpful. Have a relaxing rest of your weekend & hope you have an incredible week. Cheers 😉🌷
Happy New Year, Jess. Your presentation was fabulous. I am so glad that you think velvet can be worn beyond the holidays. I have a new pair of velvet pants that I want to wear over the next few months. My local consignment shop is already looking for spring/summer items, so I am about to look through those pieces to see if I can declutter any. Glad to see you back.
Happy New Year Diane, absolutely, velvet is very much here to stay for a while and I'm very happy about it:) Enjoy the declutter lovely, I do find that job is as good for my soul as it is for my wardrobe, an especially great way to start the year!
Are leopard print shoes still in fashion or outdated? I don’t have bright color shoes to change up an outfit but I have leopard that has not been out lately. I worry they might be dated?
I love the Gary jumper by sezane, but for some reason it just doesn’t look good enough on me, it looks too chunky on my delicate frame, even when I size down. The other thing, that disturbs me about it are the buttons: they do look plasticky in person, the colour is pale gold, so it looks off with both, silver and gold jewellery. I love it on others and am extremely upset that it doesn’t work for me. Hope Sezane will make some more fine version of the cotton jumper for spring/summer.
I always love your oufits. They are beautiful! Definitely into the less is more philosophy. I am trying to buy higher quality and settle for less. Still having some trouble finding my own style for my every day look. I see a beautiful outfit and try to duplicate it even if I'm not going to wear it on a regular basis. Oh well, it's progress not perfection! Just love sweaters! I have way too many since we live in Florida. Our window to wear them is small. Still, they make me happy. I have to tell myself no! Don't buy any more! I have 2 from Sezane, the Garbage and the Chloe blouse in white. Thanks for turning me onto them!
That one is from a brand called Songmont, I've added a link to the description box and I think my discount code should still be working too JESSICA12 Hope that helps Ellen
Hi Lyn, happy new year:) I just tried that actually and it does still seem to be working use the code JESSICAS12 bit.ly/3RMWkS5 Fingers crossed that works okay:)
I think a more cropped coat looks better with a long skirt like that otherwise there's too much fabric at the bottom of your outfit and it ends up looking quite weighed down it looks better if the coat and skirt are either the same length or the coat is longer shorter skirts look better with longer coats and Vice a versa but the same with trousers a really wide leg trouser or jean or flared version look better with a shorter coat and slimer trousers straight leg cigarette style skinny jeans look better with long coats ❤
Happy New Year, Jess! So many great tips - I loved the addition of the pink shoes! I laughed when you talked about the velvet, not just for holidays. I have two pairs of velvet trousers, one navy, one a deep burgundy. I wore them to so many events over the season, and now I find myself reaching for them all the time. One of my favorite fabrics too. Thanks for all the ideas and inspiration. You’re looking fantastic!
Happy new year Eleanor! I hope you had a wonderful break and wishing you an even better 2024:) Love the sound of your burgundy velvet trousers, I bet they're gorgeous! I read an article in Vogue the other day that velvet is the new fabric we should all be wearing so I'm thinking if it's okay with Vogue it's definitley okay for me! I shall be wearing mine for as long as the weather allows! Big hugs lovely, so nice to be back and chatting with you all again:)

I can’t wear a scarf which is too hairy! I end up getting bits in my mouth and even eye ball!! 😂
I meant the Gasbard.
What brand is the off white top handle bag on the table?
That one is from a brand called Songmont, I've added a link to the description box and I think my discount code should still be working too JESSICA12 Hope that helps Ellen
Could you share the model and size of your jeans???
Fab!
Hi Jess, I noticed the lunar bag from Songmont on the table beside you. Do you still have a discount code for that item?
Oh, aren't you tired of that rust scarf yet? I was hoping you'd just send it over. 😀
Great
I wish you styled dresses/skirts
I've bought a lovely new skirt for today's video coming up actually:)
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Quality over quantity ,not only your favorite pieces will last longer but also you can help save our mother nature .
Hi Jess! Happy New Year! It's all good, but too many "Alpha ideas" 😅😂.
I think brown and caramel is not the same, so black and true dark brown together are just a bit boring, but camel and black is not the same)
Superb😘💋💋💋💋💋💋👄👄👄👄👄💋💋💋💋😘😘💋💋💋💋💋
Thank you so much, so pleased you enjoyed the outfit ideas:)
