I would have said to copy the song name and put it into Google translate but after seeing what a mess of the lyrics that creates, I realized that's not much of an option. Here's my attempt and I'm sure someone else will soon correct my many mistakes: I am Zecharia the son of Ezra And my bread is a poor man's bread And I live in a refugee camp Next to the road to Netanya. In the winter, ya! The cold is piercing In the summer, ya! It stifles me! But I don't require more This that I have is enough for me. Here every rich and poor person Finds a flaw or defect in his view Just the one, the Yemenite Still isn't lacking in his view. ~chorus~ Ya, who dreamed? Ya, who said? That the Redeemer would remember me? If He keeps His promise And the King Messiah comes It's all worthwhile Whether good or bad Thus saith Zecharia son of Ezra Zecharia son of Ezra! She skips a couple of verses here. These are the ones she skips: In Yemen I had a donkey And I beat him with a stick And I shouted at him: Ya! Son of Beor! A slave is riding upon you! Here in the State {of Israel}, Ya my donkey Who is there that's his equal? Here in the State {of Israel}, my son of Beor A King is riding upon you! Because the State {of Israel} redeems All the bearers of yokes within it. And it's not important if we suffer a little So long as we're entitled to suffer within it {the land of Israel}. ~chorus~ In "Bolly-ticks" {politics} I'm still simple I haven't an olive's worth of an idea And to "Freedom" and to "Mapam" Please out of the house Because the creator to me decreed Zecharia discuss and weigh Keep your donkey walking straight Don't drift right or left And I simply ask Why are your children fighting? If only you knew, Israel, How goodly are your tents! ~chorus~ She comes back with this last verse: Yesterday a different heart was born in me I carried a miracle to Zion I went down to Sde Boker On the Ben Gurion Road I said to him, "Listen, sir Please don't fall upon your face As long as there's a God above Zecharia is behind you." So his heart with gladness slept (really not sure about this particular translation, took a bit of liberty based on context) And his tongue was bemused: Ya Zecharia, the nation is praiseworthy To have a son like you! The nation is praiseworthy and the State {of Israel} If this is her strength and her potency. If so, it was not in vain I went down And good was the step I stepped. All is worthwhile! God above lives! Thus saith the man, Ben Gurion! The man, Ben Gurion!

To be honest, I thought that Yemenite Jews shied away from naming their sons Ezra since they argued with the Ezra who dedicated the 2nd Temple about returning to re-establish Jewish life in ancient Judea. They did not believe that the return during that time to Judea was permanent. So they refused to come, and Ezra was furious with them. So to this day, Yemenite Jews do not call their sons Ezra.
Oh, how I wish I could understand the words and the context of this beautiful song! Time to learn some Hebrew, Shalom!

Ben Gurion?
It is about immigrants to Israel from North Africa and Yemen at the founding of Israel. So his name comes up.
